  1. Too funny that y'all mention the 'slightly pregnant' thing. I almost blurted that out on the phone to the nurse, and then when I hung up I DID say that to my husband. LOL I forgot to tell y'all what else she said. "Go on a gluten free diet for a while and see how you feel." Yeah, like you'll ever get me to willingly eat that stuff EVER again. No way...
  2. I really wish I understood this too, but I don't. I need to find a new GI doc; this one isn't real versed in anything Celiac. I just started working full time again - and it's been quite the adjustment period.
  3. I've been waiting for just over two weeks for the rest of my blood work results. My original round of labs was drawn on 7/16 and those all came back "normal". The GI doc only had the TtG IgA test run, not the others. I'm really, really glad I pushed for those additional blood tests, even though he didn't think we needed to do them "because the Ttg IgA...
  4. Well, I didn't end up needing to refrigerate after all (my husband ate it! LOL) but good to know I can! I ate it with some vanilla soy milk mixed in, and some cinnamon & sugar sprinkled on top. YUMMY! Thanks you two!
  5. Hey there! I'm hoping to get a fairly quick answer here........ I made some Mighty Tasty Hot Cereal for the first time tonight, and of course because I followed the package directions, it's waaaaaay too much for me to eat tonight. (Should've cut it in half!) So - can I refrigerate this and reheat it for breakfast tomorrow? Or is that a really bad idea...
  6. You got it - I don't believe I've been tested on the T3 free and/or T4 free - just he TSH. I do believe the better flow thing from a different vein. Mine is in my right arm, and I always have to put up a fight to get them to go for the right arm when I have blood drawn. They always seem to want to go for the left, where the vein disappears as soon...
  7. I second the banana - tastes just like banana bread.
  8. That seems somewhat bittersweet, huh? You're not crazy (which is good) but your thyroid is overactive (not good)........ I did have my TSH tested, and the results were within the normal range. But to my knowlege the TSH was the only thyroid related test they did, and I know there are others that should be done as well (FREE something or other). I know...
  9. You'll have to let us know what you think of them! I just had rice noodles last night for the first time - I made Pad Thai for dinner. SO good! I was really worried I was going to miss my Udon noodles, but the rice noodles are just as good!
  10. Well, I managed to get out of taste testing these today - I just sort of stepped back and let someone else take it. I absolutely intend to have a discussion with my boss about my diet, as well as talking with some of the other department heads (this is a coffee shop inside a grocery store, so perhaps I can make an impact on the store and help other people...
  11. mirabella - of course you're not getting on my nerves! (I do have to apologize for taking so long to reply though! Been a rough few days!) I wish I could tell you how well the B Complex vitamins are working for me, but I have been VERY bad about remembering to take them. I think maybe I'll put them right next to my coffee maker, as...
  12. Thanks for that link, happygirl. I guess maybe I need to do some additional research (or someone needs to explain it to me like I'm 5) as I don't get how a blade of grass might have seeds, and remember, this is wheat grass that I will be cutting myself. Can somebody bust out the crayons and show me? LOL I think I've pretty much decided that I...
  13. I know this has been discussed ad nasueum (I did a search, I swear) but I'm still not clear on the answer. BUT, what if I am making the wheat grass juice shot myself? As in I cut the grass (right above the roots) and I juice it up. Not from a powder, but actual growing wheat grass? Is this safe for me to drink? Is it safe for me to prepare? The...
  14. Alli - I can totally relate. I can sleep for 6 hours or 16 (and the 16 seems to be more and more often) and still feel like I haven't slept for a week when I wake up. It's recently come to my attention by my dear sweet husband, that sometimes when I'm sleeping - I stop breathing. I found this out when he physically shook me awake at 4am one day last week...
  15. Unfortunately, I have heard of far too many problems with EDM and their shipping woes. And they always blame it on USPS, from what I understand. It's not personally happened to me (I have yet to order anything from them) but I hear this a lot.
  16. mirabella - I tend to walk away too. I just get so frustrated. Definitely try the probiotics - they do help me, when I remember to take them. I haven't tried enzymes, so perhaps I'll try those out as well.
  17. Thank you.
  18. I know, I know. I'm hopeless, sometimes. I'm not back on the gluten-free diet yet; was waiting on more bloodwork results, but I'm TIRED of feeling crappy, so am just gonna do it. I'll hit the health food store too, and try these supplements too. Now.....can you tell me where I might find positive support people? Can I purchase these locally?...
  19. This is going to sound very cynical.........but if there are no tests for adrenal fatigue, how does one know for sure that's what it is? Or do ya just start the supplements and pray? I mean I know taking the supplements will not likely do any harm, but if that's it, will it take two years to feel results? That just seems like a long time to be hoping the...
  20. My daughter actually laughed out loud at me the other day because I couldn't remember the word for something.......and I snapped at her. I felt terrible about it, but it's so frustrating and it seems to be getting worse. Your damaged villi weren't enough for a dx? I've started taking a B-Complex vitamin, which supposedly will help with the brain fog...
  21. Was there a particular test that your ND did, besides the blood test? Or do you think I should just go get the Raw Adrenal Complex and start it? I am cold all the time too, but can't say I remember ever seeing my fingers/toes go white....... As for hair loss, I think I lose more than I should, but it doesn't come out in chunks - it just builds up in the...
  22. sickchick, I know you've suggested it before, but this is the first time I've checked out that link you posted. Don't know if I missed it before or what. I can check off 31 items on that list that apply to me. Think I better get it checked out. Now a question.........would I just ask for a thyroid check? Or is there something more specific to ask for...
  23. I don't think I would bother with the biopsy, but that's me. Have you considered gene testing? Congrats on the dx! Must be a relief to be official!
  24. I had a follow up with my GI doc on Thursday, and he said that everything is 'normal' (colonscopy/biopsy, stool samples, blood work). We talked about the high values on some of my previous blood results and he said it was really nothing to worry about, but that we could do testing for B12/Folic acid levels. I pushed for the rest of the Celiac Panel blood...
  25. It really does! I just remembered another horrifying incident, but this one is really funny, looking back. I was mortified at the time. My daughter was probably 3 or so, and we were at a restaurant........she hears the grumblies and mistakes it for something else. At the top of her lungs "Oh my gosh mommy did you just FART?!"
