  1. i know i've posted this a few times already, but walgreens was REALLY helpful and gave me a list of ALL their gluten-free OTC meds (there were a ton). just ask at your local walgreens (if you have one) for a list
  2. i know this thread is for antibiotics, and i posted this somewhere else, but i just want to say again i got a full list of over the counter meds from walgreens. it's great. just ask your local walgreens (they gave me a printout, not a computer file).
  3. glutano animal shapes ! i get them through gluten free pantry
  4. psyillium seed is gluten-free flax is gluten-free amy's kitchen's enchilada meal with rice and beans has 36% fiber just for that 1 serving! (check on her other meals too) there's a pasta called 'papadini' and they make bean pastas that don't taste all that great but are loaded with fiber (so i'll put butter, veggies, chicken, etc. with it to hide the...
  5. it's actually not on their gluten-free menu, but there are other condiments that are gluten-free there: Open Original Shared Link
  6. occasionally i do dream about eating gluten food.. and then in my dream ill be like omg! what have i done! but usually i realize during the dream that it's a dream. it's always something i just end up laughing about when i wake up but in my dreams sometimes i get pretty freaked out that i cheated.
  7. check out the menu on www.outback.com it's got the salad dressing clearly listed (in normal font!) i don't even know if my local outback has a gluten-free menu, i just use the one off the internet. it was updated 11/04
  8. i worry about ice cream at a store, like the kind that's in a bunch of tubs since they dip the scoop in there then touch ice cream cones, or at DQ i used to get blizzards until i realized (duh!) the thing they mix it with touches candy that isn't gluten-free
  9. one cool thing is when you find someone who does their own research on the disease you know you've found someone good maybe suggest doing things like the movies, going out for a drink (if you drink) or going out for coffee or a local zoo museum etc. etc. instead of going out to eat, especially when you first meet someone and it's tough to explain!
  10. it is pretty clear on their menu that that salad dressing isn't gluten free. i'm literally looking at it right now. i don't think it's fair to complain if it's listed on the menu, unless i'm missing something?
  11. hey good news! i just got a long gluten-free list of medications from Walgreens (not on computer, on paper or else i'd send it to you) so if you have a walgreens anywhere nearby ask them for a list
  12. there's probably malt added into those jack d wine cooler type drinks, a lot of (if not all?) of those quasi-hard liquor drinks have malt that i've seen so better just to stick to the straight up whiskey
  13. i think that's sweet of you to offer to eat gluten-free with him. i wasn't diagnosed until i was 18 so i can't say how i'd feel at that young age, but i definitely thinking eating along with him is a good idea (i'm also not a parent though so what do i know!! haha) maybe bring something fun for a treat too like surprise him with cookies or a favorite candy...
  14. would growing your own oats solve the problem? maybe someday i will live on a farm haha but it would be great to eat oats again - i personally find the contamination issue too confusing with conflicting information to eat oats, but i would eat them if they met the codex standard..
  15. hey i'm 24 and i love fruity pebbles plus it's nice to have something you know you can pick up at the supermarket - good for road trips!
  16. www.outback.com they have a gluten-free menu, which apparently is now available at their restaurants too (i used to print out my own copy) i always have a problem with the salad, i usually have to send it back cos even though it has no croutons you can see little pieces of them in the salad. just be persistent heh
  17. i personally can tolerate gluten free foods (gluten free by euro standards) so that trace amount doesn't seem to bother me. i do avoid foods with known contamination issues - like conveyor belts - but i don't always avoid a food just cos they have a warning cos some are likely there just so they can cover themselves in case of anything. i consider...
  18. i can definitely say no flu shot "gave" me celiac. never had one, got diagnosed when i was 18.
  19. heh my property teacher brought in pizza once cos we had to have a 3 hour class.. and my friend felt bad and i was like oh no it's not a big deal but i guess he could tell i was feeling left out and brought me a soda.. sounds stupid but it made me feel better and he knew i just wanted to feel included of course i did have some peanut butter cups in...
  20. i've noticed some people on the board saying they use flaxseed as a substitute for eggs maybe you can try that until you can find soy flour? hope you're feeling better

    ARCHIVED Kissing

wow this will be a great conversation to have on a first date.
  22. here let me give an example of something that i'm very unsure about: ensure has a high fiber product that has oat fiber in it. when i called them they said that it met the euro standard for gluten free (the product is also listed on ensure's website as being gluten free) so i don't know if it's ok to drink it or not. i love ensure, and i really need fiber...
  23. i'm talking about the euro standard, i've had US companies tell me they follow the euro standard cos the US doesn't have one i find it hard to believe though that without any standard, US companies hold themselves to a tougher standard than euro products
  24. do they help you with bloating ?
  25. i was wondering how people feel about the fact that 'gluten free' still allows a certain amount of gluten in it. like would you eat something if you knew it had gluten in it (which i think most "gluten free" food does, but obviously an extremely small amount). i personally do eat "gluten free" foods, like pretzels, crackers, bread, pasta, even though i also...
