Soy is high in an estrogen like compound, its not as if you are taking estrogen the hormone by eating it. Many orientals eats pounds of soy a year and never have feminine characteristics in the men. The women dont have near the trouble with menopause either. It is my understanding of gynecomastia that men who experience it are low in testosterone... -

traci posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I believe that there are noodles called Soba. I think they are either chinese or japanese... I cannot find any that are pure buckwheat, they all have wheat in them! Does anyone have a source for these? -
Thank you dkmb, I am going to try it. I have always used mostly cornstarch to thicken a lot of things.. used roux a few times, flour and fat. I find its easier to work with you if put cornstarch in cup, then add cold water and stir it into something that is NOT boiling.. no lumps then.

I borrowed my friend's machine and have made two loafs, both went to the dogs. It was horrible, ok not horrible but nothing I would walk to the pantry for! I made them on regular white setting. Someone...

My heart aches for you. My daughter was diagnosed at 11 days with PKU which is a horrendous diet. It is so very hard to watch other children eat pizza and cake and the like and your poor kid is left out. PKU kids cannot have wheat flour, simply because of the protein in it. PKU is an inherited inborn error of metobolism. They lack an enzyme which takes...

If you are concerned about contact, skin to gluten type, get some playtex dish washing gloves or even the latex ones used by docs and vets, you can find them on the Internet. I make a lot of doggy cookies, full of whole wheat flour and I always wear them. I find if I have them on, I am less apt to stick my hands near my mouth or nose or eyes. I am like a...
