  1. That is the one thing I haven't managed to do. I have been firmly and strictly gluten free for a year and have some small reactions to dairy. I can't make myself give up lactose products. I willingly gave up gluten and felt so much better but this next step seems like too much. I'm still trying to decide if I am going to give lactose or not, it just seems...
  2. Are Pantene Pro V shampoo's ok?
  3. I also wake up in the middle of the night with leg cramps so bad I have to jump out of bed and stretch my calves because it hurts so much. I've been told that it is probably because I am calcium deficient (I gave up milk a coupld of months ago). I've been trying to remember to take a calcium supplement. I'm not sure if it is working or not but it is nice...

    ARCHIVED Stress

I believe I already have actual triggered, full blown Celiac Disease. Even if the stress of this time could have triggered the symptoms, I am 100% gluten free and have been for nearly a year. I do think it is probably the make-up and stress. The problem then that still arises is that fact that I'm not eating to avoid being sick so I'm not getting the nourishment...

    ARCHIVED Stress

I have considered that point too. I am doing tons of set painting and getting covered in paint. On top of that I am the Wicked Witch in the Wizard of Oz, so I am covered in make-up, from my face down to my neck. I also wear a false nose and chin made with latex and held on with spirit gum. I think I might be reacting but it is happening longer after rather...

    ARCHIVED Stress

It seems everytime I get really stressed and busy I have "mini gluten attacks," do you think it is at all related to celiac disease? I understand it might just be IBS, the symptoms just seem really similiar. I am sure I am not getting any new gluten or being contaminated, unless Paint or stage make-up contains gluten. Even then I don't normally react...
  7. My mom's family is Scottish and English and has many Celiacs, most diagnosed. My dad's family is Irish and German and has a handful, most undiagnosed. It just runs in the blood!
  8. I was 16 and went to LA on a mission trip during the summer and came down with Strep Throat. I went undiagnosed and sick for a week. (Becoming dehydrated, splitting headaches, exhaustion, nausea, lack of appetite) I came home and was tested for Mono, Strep, and Scarlet Fever. Wad diagnosed and started to recover. I then went to summer camp as a counselor...
  9. Welcome!
  10. My one year mark hits in January and I still have up and down days. Granted, the up are a lot more often but I still get sick and feel crappy some days. I think it just might be part of living with Celiac.
  11. Also, after only eating gluten again for a week may not be enough consumption to make your test results accurate. I believe the official standing on the biopsy is that you must consume gluten for 3 to 6 months prior.
  12. I had a teacher who brought donuts every Friday for the class all year. It was hard to watch everyone eating but i used to bring some of my own snacks. I found it also helped me to think about what eating those donuts would do to my system. It made me not want them at all. This year I had a teacher planning a pizzia party and collecting money, when...
  13. I know that this has been covered before but I couldn't find the post for it. I know Lactaid makes pills for lactose intolerance, where could I find those and are they gluten free? Does some drug store like LONGS carry a less expensive generic version? I really would appreciate your responses guys.
  14. I am a teenager living with my parents and younger sister. I am the only one who is gluten intolerant (other than my older brother who doesn't live at home). Normally our main dishes and things are gluten free but the rest of the family stocks up on gluten items. I have a separate toaster, butter, peanut butter, jam etc. It works out well for us in general...
  15. Don't worry, I'm still around. However, the 25 is not good for me. P.S. I'm sorry to hear about the heavy duty fatigue. Hang in there. I hope you are able to find some answers soon.
  16. Wendy's doesn't always separate their oil either. Their fries made me sick.
  17. If it makes you feel better at all I am also "becoming" lactose intolerant. I never had any problems before going gluten free but about 4 or 5 months in I started feeling a little sick sometimes. I have now been gluten free for ten months and am now lactose sensitive. I can get away with a little but any more than that and it isn't so good.
  18. Hi Debbie, sorry to hear about the fatigue. My mom, aunt and myself all went and waited for 45 minutes but no one showed up so we left. Sorry no one could make it, we better exchange phone numbers for next time to avoid the confusion.
  19. sounds good
  20. White chocolate Reese's are gluten free. We called about them a couple months ago. Happy snacking!
  21. Thanks so much for the great article!
  22. My mom and I could do it on Monday the 11 if that worked. I know it is a short heads up but. . . I could go on the October 25 too. I was also contact my aunt who is a Celiac who might be interested as well.
  23. I'm pretty insanely busy. You gals go ahead and meet without me. I don't mind. I will try to join in next time.
  24. Hi guys! It's Laura again. I love the idea of meeting at Outback and having a dinner together but I can't do Wednesday. If it is possible to move it I would enjoy going. It is fine, however, if you want to go ahead and leave it on the 13.
