  1. Hello Gentleheart, I'll betcha if you give them a call, they would consider a small special run for you and leave out the cornstarch. I could be wrong. They seemed like really nice folks. If you don't feel like calling them, let me know. I will call. All the best, Mike
  2. Hey, thanks a lot, we visit this area often, I'll check it out! Mike
  3. Thank you Momma Goose. all the best ( And I mean that sincerely), Mike
  4. Just a quick note here, I got a chance to call and talk to the folks at Domata living flour this afternoon. I have now been using this flour for over a week and have not had one issue. This may not be a good flour for everyone (it does have corn starch in it and other things) but if you want to avoid Wheat, Barley, Rye and Oats, they got it covered. She said...
  5. Good to go! All flavors, just had lime flavor for dessert at lunch today. Of course double check your ingredients to make sure nothing changed! Mike
  6. Yes! That was it (an Oatie O) I could not think of it! It really does seem to be different for all of us (how much CC and not get a reaction). Gluten for me is bad enough, lasts about 5 days.....Oats and I am sick for weeks on end. All the best, Mike
  7. Well. I would like to ask this question to those that post, that are not sensitive. (by no means do I mean ALL posters.....Just seems to be a few on here). Why take such offense with those of us that are very sensitive? I really would like to know the real reason. All the best, Mike
  8. Hi, I bought the corn flakes and the rice puffs cereal last week. I gave them a call (after I got home) and they confirmed they do have a mixed facility. Also, they do run an oat product on one of the lines (I can't remember if it was the corn or rice line) Oats are a really bad deal for me. I gave both boxes away. Sorry if it is not what you wanted to hear...
  9. The poster is talking to those "very sensitive" celiacs that really need this kind of information in order to live as safe as possible. Even the most newly diagnosed celiac surely should know that it is WHEAT, BARELY, RYE and OATS or WBRO for short that must be avoided as well as CROSS CONTAMINATION or CC for short, of the above mentioned grains. Mike Open...
  10. This is what the CSA has to say about mold......... Open Original Shared Link Molds "Also common for newly diagnosed celiac disease patients is sensitivity to food and air-borne molds. This is likely to include such common foods as mold-based cheeses, mushrooms, yeast and yeast products and xanthan, which may be used as a binder in some gluten...
  11. I'm in the same camp.......Sounds like a chlorine issue. All the best, Mike
  12. They indeed had/have issues. I called them a couple of months ago after buying one of there cereal's (ginger snap if memory serves me correctly) and the first thing she asked was where I bought it and then said it had been discontinued because the source could not guarantee gluten status. Needless to say, I did not eat it or waste any money testing it. Mike
  13. You are getting some great advice from the other posters. I did want to mention to double check your rice. I, like you, was eating just the basics and was buying rice from Kroger's and getting nailed but did not know why until I found what I thought was a wheat kernel in my rice. Went back to the store and my eyes about fell out. The rice I was buying was...
  14. Hello dilettantesteph, has anyone tried the Domata flour? I got some a few days ago.....WOW is it ever good, plus it is certified by the Celiac Sprue Association. It is manufactured in a state of the art, Wheat, Barely, Rye, and OAT free facility and the supply chain is also certified. I tested it with the strips and also have now eaten it for three days...
  15. OK.....Tested the "Sticker' on a Pear. Completely negative for gluten via testing strips. Nothing showed up, not even a hint on the positive line. Here is what was printed on the sticker: COMICE www.usapears.com #4414 Of course, this is just one sticker on one Pear, it does put my mind at ease. Hope it does for you and others. P.S. I often wondered about...
  16. Hello Lisa, I have wondered, but never tested the sticker. I just peel it off and wash with soap and water really good. I have some pears with a sticker at home. I'll test one and let you know. Mike
  17. Not sure about "restaurant" sour cream. I can say that just plain ole store bought sour cream (like Daisey brand) with just the basic ingredients have never had gluten in it that I have seen. Same for Ice Cream (long as its not cookies and cream)....You know what I mean......Mike P.S. Matter of fact, I have yet to find a positive for gluten in any dairy...
  18. Uhhhmmmm. As others have mentioned, not such a good choice. If you can pull off Taco Bell without a reaction.....Well, I will leave it at that. In my opinion, if a person must do fast food.....Try Wendy's Open Original Shared Link P.S. If you want to step it up a notch....Try P.F. Chang's if you have one close. All the best, Mike
  19. I personally know of 2 people that tested negative via Enterolab. One had symptoms of celiac and/or a gluten intolerance. Test came back negative and still having issues, she then went to the GI. Last month she was diagnosed with Crones disease. The other was curious and just wanted to be tested. Mike
  20. I always save the strips and look at them the next day. Several times there has been a faint positive (red, not just a white line) Also right after the test is complete, I hold the strip up to a bright light with the test side facing myself, shade my eyes with my hand. This gives a more finite look when wanting to really make sure. Mike P.S. I also get...
  21. Hello Sailing Girl, I don't think you will have a problem with sugars. Have done a lot of testing and have not had a positive yet. Only thing that some may have a problem with would be the corn based sugars (if they have a corn issue). Domino's tested negative (both powdered and granular) Flavorite brand brown sugar tested negative. We use Florida Crystals...
  22. Gluten free Dog treats for those of us who are very sensitive and don't want to be handling other treats.....I have tested and use PLATO dog treats. The chicken and salmon strips tested negative several times now. Here is the web address. www.platopettreats.com I buy them at our local health food store. Hope this helps, Mike
  23. I feel your pain!!! Oh that is rich!!!!! If the nay sayers would just step back for just a minute and think about what the ability to test is really doing for ALL of us, I think they would humbly get on board. Think about it, in the past we (the consumer) had no way to hold these food/health manufactures feet to the fire and keep them honest. Besides, not...
  24. Another FYI...Tested Wendy's Fries, Chocolate Frosty and Chili.....I asked and they do (at this Wendy's) use a dedicated "fries" only fryer....... I think it was on this sensitive thread that I was reading about fast food fries? anyway......I tested Wendy's French Fries and Chocolate Shake and they tested totally negative for gluten....The Chili had an...
  25. Holiday 16, in my opinion, you are going to love it (testing that is). You just can't beat having a way to know for sure if a product does/does not have gluten. According to the manufacturer, the EZ gluten is 99% accurate. Be careful as you will get hooked on testing! Welcome to the new, improved, gluten free (because I can test and prove it) modern world...
