Yes, and you bring up a great point and why I need to edit this list before just posting. I love strawberries and was not satisfied to give up on them (is one of the major reasons why I have tested so many things and still do) Thru testing, I discovered that Driscoll brand strawberries have been negative for gluten every time. I eat them now and don't even... -

Hello Dilettantesteph, thanks for your input and I am sorry this seems to be just dragging on and on here. Still might be a couple of days or so before I get the good list posted. When I started compiling this list, I did not know I would be sharing this info, so I need to edit the list and give a little more information. May God be my witness, I am not... -

Hello ShayFl. You are talking about the negative for gluten list? Lets call this the green list meaning the products at the time of testing via the Elisa gluten test strip, tested negative. Your test was valid, no bad strips ect. ect. I would have never tested the Kikkomans soy sauce for an obvious reason......Says right on the label WHEAT. I understand your... -

Bottom Line For Me: A Waste of Money Why? Both food items that were known gluten-free tested NEG as expected. Whole Wheat pasta tested High POS as expected. BUT the Wheat based Soy Sauce tested NEG. The WHOLE point of these tests is to detect minute amounts of gluten (they claim down to 10 ppm). Wheat based soy sauce was expected to be POS, but was... -

Hi Lisa16, the plan is just that, post the results (only the negative for gluten tat the time of testing) to help take some of the guess work out of this. We now have a tool to double check the makers of some of these products. I am awaiting the independent lab results of the gluten test strip that ShayFl will be doing before I begin posting findings. She... -

I might be able to sum this up here. To those of us who are gluten sensitive (react relatively easily to small amounts of gluten is what I am saying) this test strip is irreplaceable in my opinion. I too go down for days (usually 5 days) when glutened. For example, I can test a large bag of Pancake Mix and it lasts a long long time for me. So, every time... -
I don't know of a special iodine free diet, I never looked as I am so sensitive to gluten that I just eat mostly single ingredient whole foods. I do treat myself to sea salt potato chips once in a while (Cape Cod Kettle Chips). I don't seem to ever react to these. For many months I did not add salt or eat any canned foods with salt labeled on them. I do use...

Do you know about eliminating iodine? Commonly found in table salt and shrimp, things like this. You should check with your doctor before eliminating anything though. Took me a long time to figure out the iodine connection. Hope this helps. P.S. It still can take months for the antibodies to clear the skin. Mine was about 9 months before significant improvement...

Strongly agree with other posters. Please get a second opinion. You can do the gluten free. It's not easy, no sense in sugar coating it. But you can do it. You very likely will become even more sensitive as time goes on. Staying on gluten will continue to overload your immune system, making it even harder to get back to "normal' health in my opinion. All...

Oh, The Pamela's has tested negative each time I have tested it. Elisa has hinted to me they do plan on getting the cost down on these strips once they start to recoup the development costs. This will help! You mentioned hand soap..... I have tested (tested negative) Bath and Body Works Cucumber Melon hand soap. Also, I use Target Brand Foaming Hand Soap... -

Hello Mftnchn, It really is my pleasure to help, as mentioned before by me, I will never be able to repay all that post information on this website, it is has been a blessing. ARCHIVED Villi Still Damaged After All These Years?
Mike M replied to frec's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hello Frec, I haven't posted for very long, so I don't carry much clout, having said this, if you find the time, keep an eye on the gluten test strip thread. ShayFl will be doing some testing to see if the Elisa test strips are accurate or not. From the tests that I have performed, there are indeed issues with the so called "gluten free" foods that are out... -

Ok, sounds good. And to everyone else that may be interested........I spoke with Elisa today about posting the results of the tests that I have ran. They have no problem posting the results, however for my liability I suggested that I not post the positive as mentioned by me, before. They agreed. I don't need a food company on my back right now for posting... -

Hi ShayFl, I did read about your test plans........Right here on this web site! Trying to save you a little money that is all. If you test wheat pasta, it will show a positive result. No question. It feels strange to see so many old timers attacking the messenger. Oh well, at least you are stepping up to the plate and putting your money where you mouth (er... -

Hello Peter, no affiliation I assure you, None. No compensation. I don't normally throw a question back at someone but I will. How much does it cost us to not know if something has gluten? I do understand that some will say, oh a small amount will not do damage so on and so forth, I disagree. I have said this before, the technology now has changed. No longer... -

Hello ShayFl! I have performed well over 300 of these gluten tests (you read that correctly) I really got into the testing of items and still test some but not near as much as I once did. If I may suggest, I would consider testing items that you use daily such as vitamins ect. Ms. Goose said she did not think the test was "certified" for non-food items, may... -

Sorry for the delay in response, I took the plate and cut it up and put it in a micro food processor with a little water and made a pulp. It was a new plate, not a used one! Name brand product by the way.......I am sure that I am not going to be a popular person on this testing deal. I just want to make folks aware that hidden gluten is rampant. The food... -

Hi Jenny, The link to the company that I use is on the first post of this topic Elisa Technology. I was told the last time I ordered kits, that they soon will have a new dedicated web site just for the test kits and I agree, these work good for testing a new product and then back tracking if you need too (post glutening). It has been shocking for me to say... -

TIME OUT!!! ShayF I have tested a boat load of different items with this test kit and it has worked flawlessly every time. This is NOT a greedy company. This test kit has been a Godsend to those of us who are extremely gluten sensitive. I don't want ANY gluten in my system if I can avoid it. Besides, I can't even take just a little bit of gluten.....Sick... -

Hello! Time frame, setback? Not sure......On the the other deal you mentioned, there is a host of other things that could be a problem, dairy, sugar, CC on and on, but what stands out to me is "corn" as in corn syrup.....Soda, candy, a lot of it is made with corn. Corn intolerance and/or allergy is a huge issue in this country. I speak from experience. I had... -
ARCHIVED Sanity Check: Validity Of Enterolab
Mike M replied to climbmtwhitney's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I just don't get it. No where on the Enterolab web site or if you call and talk to Enterolab do they say they diagnose celiac. I certainly did not state this in my post. Enterolab for me and my family members was but a "first step". We had other testing done by other doctors including GI's.
