  1. Congratulations on your upcoming addition Shan May he or she bring you much joy through the coming years I don't know if they sell non-gebrokt specifically but Open Original Shared Link sells some already made kosher stuff as well as Open Original Shared Link. Unfortunately both sometimes take awhile to get stuff to you.
  2. Thankee Shan About how long will food bought this way last without spoiling? Will I be safe ordering far ahead?
  3. Alot of the items mentioned so far seem great but I'd love to see them without rice/corn/soy/gluten: Croissants Bread English Muffins Poptarts Ravioli Lasagna Fettucine Mannicoti Stuffed Shells Twinkies Nutter Butters Frosted Cakes Frosted Cupcakes White Chocolate Soy Sauce Terriyaki Sauce Gravy (all on the market now contain corn, soy...
  4. It can be hell finding corn-free foods in the supermarket...trust me, I know ! The following list may help a bit, he seems to keep up on changes and new products. Open Original Shared Link
  5. I also use Carol Fenster's cookbooks (have and love them all). I use her Sorghum/Tapioca Starch/Potato Starch mix to do most of my cooking/baking. My co-favorite is Roben Ryberg. I loved her first cookbook, just got her 2nd one and I'm loving it even more
  6. For sausage I use the Jones Dairy Farm All-Natural (Breakfast) Sausage Roll. I make little tiny patties with it and fry then up, then use them to top the pizza. They make them in both regular and hot varieties. As for Ham, I get Boar's Head ham at my butcher. I ask him to cut a few slices extra-thick and just dice them up for the pizza.
  7. Green and Black does indeed contain Soya Lecithin unfortunately. One good place to get chocolate is Open Original Shared Link The other site I was going to suggest is temporarily closed while relocating but will be re-opening soon hopefully... Open Original Shared Link They both are great!!!
  8. Some really good ideas here I never considered. I usually mix and match for breakfast... Eggs: Cheese Omelette, Cheese and Sausage Omelette, Scrambled Eggs wit Country Gravy Meats: Sausage, Bacon, Ham, Chicken-Fried Steak with Country Gravy Breads: Roben Ryberg's Rolls from her cookbooks, Pancakes (from Carol Fenster's cookbooks) Cereal: Amaranth...
  9. climbmtwhitney, although it seems unlikely to get glutened that way, there's another problem that could easily be mistaken for that if you react to corn. I was told about a practice by a butcher I go to and after checking it out it seems like he was spot on. Here's the email I received from Organic Prairie Meats. "Thank you again for contacting...

    ARCHIVED Ufood Grill?

I didn't realize Bleu Cheese wasn't gluten-free munkee41182, thank you for the warning. I'm definitely leery now about trying them. Where's the "know fat" place though? Is it near Stop&Shop or Whole Foods or somewhere else entirely?
  11. I've also needed to remove corn from my diet but luckily can have dairy. In stores, there seems very little that's corn-free at all but if you bake Carol Fenster and Roben Ryberg's books can be a great help. Just substitute Tapioca Starch and/or Potato Starch for Cornstarch, Guar Gum for Xanthan Gum and use raw sugar (plus a food processor/blender to make...

    ARCHIVED Ufood Grill?

We've just had a uFood Grill open in Bedford, MA and they have a pretty good Gluten-free/Allergen-free Menu. I was wondering if anyone has eaten at the chain yet and had any reactions to the food? Just found out about them yesterday on Open Original Shared Link , he's the mascot/figurehead for the chain.
  13. I'm actually not sure what Cinnamon Life tastes like but Cinnamon Amaranth Snaps taste alot like Cinnamon Toast Crunch without all the sugar
  14. OOOOOOH!!! Thank you FoxersArtist!!! Now I can make whoopie pies again :D
  15. I usually just use the red packaged Chebe bread for the non-italian and the Chebe green package for italian calzones. The recipes are actually on Open Original Shared Link . I'm in the process of trying Robyn Ryberg's and Carol Fenster's dough recipes for them but still trying to figure whether I should be using pie crust, bread/roll or biscuit (as moonlitemama...
  16. One trick I've done in the past is stocked up on homemade "Hot Pockets" style calzones. If you don't mind eating alot of pie crust those things can be great. Just freeze them and reheat in the toaster oven or microwave. I make chicken pot pie, roast beef and cheese, cheeseburger, philly cheesesteak, italian sausage, italian meatball, and egg (with sausage...
  17. Check Open Original Shared Link for a good explanation. Spunky is right, I've actually come upon one store brand baking powder myself that actually had wheat starch in it but can't recall which store at the moment (most likely either Stop & Shop, Hannaford or Shaws).
  18. Shabtai Gourmet is fantastic! I used to order thier products from Kosher.com but Kosher's pricing is like $1 more an item plus charges heavy on the shipping. Glad to see Shabtai is offering free shipping on thier site. For anyone with problems eating chocolate I'd greatly recommend their raspberry roll and ladyfingers. As far as breadcrumbs go their pread...
  19. When I was a kid we used to have Open Original Shared Link with Mac N' Cheese all the time. It can be done as mini-muffins as well. The recipe at Chef Michele's isn't gluten-free but it should be close enough to make substitutions
  20. Thanks for the help guys Purple, was that in Carol Fenster's Quick and Easy book? If it was I can't believe I missed it TrilliumHunter, If I had the slightest clue of how to process it or was sure I wouldn't react to it I'd take you up on that offer but since I don't it may be best not to but just offer you a thank you
  21. Hi all! I had a few questions on the use of Kuzu Root Starch. I was at Eden Organics site and the search engine pulled it up as gluten-free. Does anyone what products its best used for in cooking and baking? Can it be subbed 1-for-1 in recipes calling for cornstarch or other starchs? Just what is Kuzu Root Starch? I thought I knew most of the flours then...
  22. Open Original Shared Link has some great guides on the different types of flours. Most of them tell you exactly what you can substitute them for. I usually use it as a 1-for-1 replacement for white rice flour without a problem. It tastes especially great in cookies and muffins.
