  1. Has anyone eaten Nature's Path Gluten Free waffles or Aldis Turkey roast ? If you did, were you ok or were you having symptoms of being glutened. I bought some Natures Path Gluten Free waffles and some other brand of gluten free corn dogs and later had the nasty kind of D that comes with being glutened. I tried to look up online about Natures path...
  2. It's bad enough that you have to scrutinize every ingredient in the things you eat but when you buy things that are SUPPOSED to be gluten free and you get glutened by them, it just makes me very irate. I have only been eating glutino gluten free bagels, and hormels natural choice turkey lunch meat which clearly states no gluten and ditto for the bagels...
  3. Ok I have been on the Gluten Free diet since I was diagnosed July 14th of 2008. I am still sick not feeling right at all. Most of the abdominal issues have resloved except for painful belching after I eat. My main issue is I am in alot of random pain. I have removed nightshades, casein from my diet and I am now working on Soy. I went out to rake the...
  4. Thanks Bea, You are amazing with all of your knowledge. You give me hope when I feel like there is none and I really appreciate it.
  5. Hey SG, Sorry you are dealing with this as well and I hope you feel better soon. I also have Hypothyroidism and a herniated disc in my back in addition to the Celiac Disease. What seems to make me feel the worst is just aches and body pains all over. I feel like I am 80 and I turned 37 this past Januuary. My luekemia test came back good so I guess...
  6. I haven't been re-tested for antibodies. He doesn't seem to think I need it. He just said remain gluten free. I am pretty sure that I am not consuming gluten. I use my own pans ( bought new ones ), I don't eat out at all anymore. Even at places where the food they serve maybe gluten free because they also serve food that isnt. Can dairy make you feel...
  7. Hi was diagnosed with Celiac Disease July 14th 2008. I have been gluten free with a few accidents along the way. I am still feeling pretty bad even though the abdominal issues have abated for the most part. Some symptoms have gotten better but many still remain such as, radom body pains, feeling fatiged, tinnitus and just an overall not feeling well....
  8. I agree with the poster that said Europeans are far ahead of us in their knowledge of people with Celiac Disease and having lots of places to accomodate folks like us. What about peanuts butter for protein? If you can tolerate the nuts. I eat all natural peanut butter with no added sugars. I hope you find things that work for you Jason. I know how...
  9. Does anyone out there know if Levothyroxine ( synthroid ) made by Mylan is gluten free. I went to glutenfreedrugs.com and it says that sythroid cannot garuntee wether or not there is gluten in it. Thanks in advance, Ted.
  10. I am so frustrated with my family members when it comes to my cross contamination concerns. I had to move back home because I got so sick I had to leave my job and its been a slow, slow healing process. Today, My my mother grabs a bag and hands what I thought was sugar to me. I set it on the table and when I set it down I could see the label on the...
  11. It mostly happens on my forearms and knees. They feel really warm and get red. I always thought I might have Candida because I have so many symptoms still. Swollen glands under my jaw, joint pain all kinds of weird things.
  12. Hi, I haven't posted on here in a couple of months. I am still not feeling all that great at 12 and a half months of the gluten free diet. I guess compared to where I was, I am better. For nearly four months I could not even get off the couch I was so exhausted and I wasn't even doing anything to make me tired. My question is this: Has anyone...
  13. Hi Jocelyn, I understand totally what you are going through. It is a different experience for everyone. I unfortunately, still do not feel anywhere like I use to even after being gluten free for a year now. I am experiencing some of the same symptoms as you are such as: Random body pains, hurts when I sit, lower back pain, ringing in my ears and...
  14. Ok I found my pathology report. They did five bi-opsies. They were of: 1. Termial Ileum (small bowel mucosal with mild specific colonic inflammation), 2. Right Colon ( Colonic mucosa with lymphoid aggregate and mild nonspecific inflammation), 3. Transverse Colon (Colonic mucosa with lymphoid aggregate and mild non specific inflammation), 4. Left Colon...
  15. Yes, I will find it and post it on here later. I have to dig through some files.
  16. Hello, I can see that you are very determined. I guess it all boils down to how sensitive you are to gluten. Some are more sensitive than others. I would have to say that sooner or later the chances are from being around it at work for 8 to 10 hrs a day that you will eventually ingest some accidentally. I use to Manage a Pizza place and I can remember...
  17. No, my bi-opsies were inconclusive. I don't know how other than your small intestine is 25 ft long and maybe the areas he took them from were fine. I was having horrible abdominal pains. It says right on my lab sheet: presence of IgA antibodies against human tTG suggests the possibility of certain gluten sensitive enteropathies such as Celiac Disease...
  18. Hi, I agree with the others. This is totally an auto immune disease. It is hereditary for some and for others it can take something to trigger it such as a bad infection ( gets your immune system all out of whack). There is no cure for Celiac Disease. They are testing a drug that will allow people with Celiac Disease to eat gluten again. It's being...
  19. Ok, I wasn't quite sure what that <20 meant. Thanks for the help.
  20. Hi I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease on July 14th 2008. I never really understood my lab values so maybe some of you out there that understand it better than me can help me out here. My Celiac Disease Panel with Reflex to Titer, Immunoglobulin A, Serum was 577 mg/dl. I know this is high because it is marked as such with the reference range being 68...
  21. I agree with the others that say if it makes you feel bad then try to avoid it all costs. I don't care what doctor said that it SHOULDN"T cause a reaction topically. If you look around you will see there are some that say they don't know for sure so it's best to avoid it.
  22. I don't know about the skin prick test causing a reaction but, I do know that if you use topical products containing gluten such as moisturizers and lotions that you can have a reaction from it without it being ingested. I had a link of a doctor talking about it. If I can find it I will post it to you. I'm not just talking about Dermatitis Herpetiformis...
  23. I agree, I seem to have a problem with nightshades too. I feel horrible after eating some hot dogs that I know are gluten free. It's amazing how your body can turn on you. I use to be able to eat anything and never had an issue. Then after being diagnosed with Celiac Disease, I feel bad when I eat anything with milk ( casein), soy and nightshades. I...
  24. Same thing was happening to me. I called McDonalds Corporation myself and spoke with a rep that told me the things I was eating had no gluten in them. You have to think of all the other things that DO HAVE gluten in them such as the buns, breaded chicken, the wraps etc. Sooner or later you will get glutened. It's a crap shoot at best. I stopped doing...
  25. Just wanting to know if anyone has been feeling rough like me.
