Hey everyone, So one of my co-workers was recently dagnosed with Graves Disease. In some of his research he found an article by a person with Graves that said she had recently gone gluten free to help with her symptoms. He asked me about this knowing that I had just been diagnosed with Celiacs. I have no information to give him... It seems to me that...

ARCHIVED Intolerances To Other Flours?MollyBeth replied to MollyBeth's topic in Related Issues & Disorders This is why I think it was the xantham gum. The bread mix I used to make the bread I got the bread crumbs from was made from a Namaste mix. I don't know. I've only been on the diet for five months...maybe I'm just still healing. I don't think I need to give up all grains... I eat this bread made from millet flour and flax seed all the time with out...

ARCHIVED I Found My Diagnosis Not My Doctor, And It Bothers Him.MollyBeth replied to I hate gluten's topic in Doctors I have no problem with the link. I have not researched any of the information on the link to verify whether it is correct or not. Chances are...it probably is. With wikepedia there is always the chance though that the information is incorrect. Some people go in and change pages as a joke. I was simply pointing out that one should not make and argument...

ARCHIVED I Found My Diagnosis Not My Doctor, And It Bothers Him.MollyBeth replied to I hate gluten's topic in Doctors Another thing to remember with this link is that wikepedia is not a credible source because anyone with a computer can go in and change the information to anything they want. I also would like to add that I am one of the people with a very pleasant experience with my doctor. We can't judge people and their experiences. Everyone is different. I think...

ARCHIVED I Found My Diagnosis Not My Doctor, And It Bothers Him.MollyBeth replied to I hate gluten's topic in Doctors You are not alone sbj. If it weren't for my doctor I'd still be trying to figure out what the heck was wrong with me too! I'm so thankful to my doctor! Even after my blood test came back negative she still sent me to do the endoscopy because she said that there is a chance for false negatives with blood tests! What do you know...I have the endoscopy and...

ARCHIVED Intolerances To Other Flours?MollyBeth replied to MollyBeth's topic in Related Issues & Disorders I got the Teff flour from Bob's Red Mill. I'm not sure if I'm sensitive to oats. My doc suggested I stay away from them too when I started the diet so I haven't really had them since going gluten free.

GREAT ARTICLE! Thanks for sharing! I'm also liking how it encourages doctors to look for the other symptoms than just malabsorption!

So I made my own home made pizza crust about a week ago and had digestive issues for three days after. Last night I used some bread I had made for bread crumbs for some delicious cordon blue I made and now again this morning...my stomach is gurgling. The only new ingredients I was exposed to were teff flour, xanthum gum, and apple cider vinegar. I've done...

ARCHIVED PuffinsMollyBeth replied to Lexi's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications Remember that if you're not super sensitive damage could still be happening to your intestines even if you are not getting sick. I also tend to not be very sensitive but try to steer clear of things like this.

My iron and ferratin levels are still kindof low. I'm still eating ice all the time...and once when I was in high school I ate powdered laundry detergent. My mom caught me and was like whatis worng with you. I told her I didn't know and the urge was so great I couldn't stop myself. That's the way it is with ice too. After that she didn't buy the powdered...

I was in Philly this past weekend and I went to a resturant called Lolita. It's located at 106 S. 13th street. It was amazing! Almost everything on their menu is gluten free and my waiter told me that they soon hope to be completely gluten free since there is just one Entre on the menu that contains gluten. There are also two deserts that contain Gluten...

Hey guys, I just started taking Lunesta. I've never taken it before though I have taken other night time sleep aides. In the past two days everything I eat has tasted terrible! Anybody else experience this on this drug? I can hardly stand to even drink water... there's just a bitter nasty taste on the back and sides of my tongue.

ARCHIVED When Were You Diagnosed? As A Child?MollyBeth replied to livingglutenfree's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease I was just diagnosed with biopsy this last October. I've had digestive issues my entire life...I can remember going to bed and having heart burn when I was like 4. I started taking ritalin for ADD when I was 11 and took it, or some version of it, until I was about 20 when I could no longer handle the side effects. I think my intestinal issues became most...

I was on ritalin for over a decade! I wouldn't call myself impulsive but there is definately a change in my personality when I get glutened now. When I was home for a visit around new years I got glutened pretty bad and I had a huge fight with my mother before leaving about absolutely nothing. I really believe this disease effects the mind when gluten...
