  1. My family LOVES almond milk, especially Silk brand so the million dollar question is, "is it gluten free"? OH please!!!!!!!!!
  2. Because I have one child who is anaphylactic to corn. Oh good times in our family LOL It's good to know we can rinse them and be fine, we do have some good things to make with beans!
  3. Love the "soothing colors" part LOL Who knew I'd get to know poop so well!
  4. Are they packaged with them or on the same belt? What do dried beans and wheat have to do with each other? I get these for free with WIC and so we use a lot of dried beans, also because they are very healthy for you so I will be sad to have to stop getting those as well as the tortilla's, wheat bread and dairy products we get for free. Our budget cannot...
  5. Oh I have one large zucchini that I am making bread with tomorrow!
  6. Sure! This will make 6 buns. 1 1/2 cups Featherlight rice flour mix (mix is this: 3 c. rice flour, 3 c. tapioca starch, 3 c. cornstarch or potato starch, 3 tbsp potato flour) 1 tsp xanthan gum 1 tsp egg replacer (optional) 1 tsp unflavored gelatin 1 tsp baking powder 1 tsp salt 1 1/2 tbsp sugar, divided 1 c warm water 2 1/4 tsp dry yeast granules...
  7. I really don't know what is going on, a few days ago I paid attention to the color of his poop for the first time and realized it was a pale yellow and was clued in that it may be due to celiac.
  8. I'm making some right now from a recipe book by Bette Hagman called, "The Gluten-Free Gourmet Bakes Bread". I have now made it 3 times and my family all loves it! Just the right consistancy with bounce and not dried out and tasteless.
  9. No vitamins with iron in them (we try to eat a whole foods diet so vitamins usually aren't needed), we don't drink alcohol, no grape juice and definitely NO Kool-Aidor the sort. Oh, and no jell-o and he likes to use markers but he's never tried to eat them LOL
  10. I have had these for years and they got MUCH worse after the birth of baby #2 11 years ago. They actually have mostly disappeared when I cut out wheat and dairy (maybe a gluten thing?) so now that I am working on going completely gluten-free I wonder if they will completely disappear? My 6 year old son has them bad on his face and his arms, not sure about...
  11. Yeast. If your gut is over run with it, it will throw off the GOOOD flora and fauna (bacteria) in your digestive tract and the antibiotics will KILL off the good bacteria causing a secondary infection in which yet ANOTHER antibiotic will be prescribed. Your best bet is to try natural antibiotics if you can, depending upon what it is you have OR taking probiotics...
  12. I am not diagnosed but my kids always get a reaction when I've never had it and it grows on my property.
  13. Ya, I can see how that would be..........what goes in must come out LOL He hasn't eaten any of those things and I've exhausted all ideas and what I do know. Another question for the doc.
  14. I second this diet! Look at your tongue.......does it have a white coating to it? That is yeast.
  15. Thank you for the education today, I am learning so much! He was not given Pepto and he doesn't seem bothered by any issue inside he is having. I have been watching him though. I hope it's not blood!
  16. I guess I am not understanding, am I to expect this for up to 2 weeks then do you think? It's a chemical reaction to the gluten but is it continuing to do damage?
  17. Ok, several days ago my son age barley cereal and the next day he had a classic celiac poop and today he's had the next poop (he doesn't go everyday sometimes) and most of it's black! What is up with this? Is this part of the glutening he had earlier this week? It also smelled horrible, like the glutened poop.
  18. I just wanted to add that fermented foods (except alcohol) are EXCELLENT for your digestive and your immune system. These keep your digestive track in order (aside from any issues like allergies, celiac, intolerances, etc. you may have). So yes, taking probiotics is a must and it's a food so you really cannot overdose on it. (Midwife in training speaking...
  19. I was off for 3 months before trialing and won't be going back on until my baby is weaned.
  20. I guess I am not too familiar with different kinds of rice, if you buy the rice to grind yourself, will the bag say, "sweet rice"? I don't buy flour if I can make it myself
  21. It's definitely not mucous. It literally looks like if you put water into a frying pan you used with some oil on it and let it sit, little oil dropplets form on the top. I wasn't doing a gluten challenge for me, I was trialing wheat for my nursling to figure out what is bugging her. So far it's dairy, soy, eggs and wheat or maybe gluten? Her diarrhea...
  22. Ok, this is a question for a totally different child than the one I have been asking about these past few days. I am learning so much that now I am seeing some issues with other kids, even in retrospect! My now 8 year old son was a big baby at birth but as he approached his 1 year mark he dipped below the 10th percentile from around the 95th percentile...
  23. This is exactly it! He's never had the black eye effect before I purposefully glutened him the other day.
  24. Oh and one more thing to add and it's something I have wondered about in the past couple of years but a few times a year (this is why it's so weird) I get a very sharp and very severe pain starting in my stomach and over several hours I can feel every inch of my intestines with nothing to show for it later. No diarrhea or gas and then my poor insides feel...
  25. I had to respond simply because I also would have "attacks" when I was in a stressful situation and I can count on having one with anything new or doctors appts, etc. I have had several occassions of being in public when it hits and leaving shopping carts in the middle of the store to high-tail it to the toilet not knowing if I was going to make it or not...
