  1. Don't have any time today- spent the whole day baking so I can go to a family picnic Sat. where all the food is supplied. Except for me- a freak of nature. GRRR. Could be worse. I could have been born beautiful, with all the attendant problems that go along with that. Sir Lady Sleez (I seem to have nighted myself)
  2. Have you thaught about quinoa flour? I've cooked quinoa, but never used the flour. But, it is high in protien.
  3. The bread I bake calls for egg whites, so I always have extra yolks. Got any recipes that I can use them in? Don't want to throw them away. Any ideas wou be appreciated. Thanks.
  4. What kind of meds are you guys on? I am prescribed 5 mg. glyburide 2 times a day. Before going gluten free, my A1C was 13 1/2 and my doc was going to put me on insulin. I've been gluten-free for 8 months, and this morning, my fbs was 62. I'll only take 1/2 pill today. The only time I take a whole pill (divided) in a day is if my fbs goes over 120. That...

  6. Hi. I'm a type 2 diabetic. I eat pretty much all I want, but do moderate my carbs and sugar. Before going gluten free, my numbers were so high (A1C 13 1/2) that doc was going to put me on insulin. Now, I take 1 Glyburide a day tops. About every other day, my fbs goes below 65, so i only take 1/2 a tab. I've been gluten-free for 9 months, and feel better...
  7. Hi Alicia, and welcome. This forum has literally saved my life. There is much good advice, humor, and most importantly, understanding and community. What other group of poeple could you freely talk about poo but us! I'm 9 months gluten free and soooo much better. Ask questions, even if they seem stupid. Someone here will have the answer. 9. Ex-chef watching Hell's Kitchen. Have worked with people lie him. It was hell. I hate Rushin food. I love Rusky authors. They are as big as thier country. Ohio is a huge and grated country. And the Amish make it cheezy and glutteny. I have way to many random thaughts. Good Night. Jesslika, I hope you even out your man-hate. Stay strong...
  10. This overwhelmed me. I will reply tomorrow.
  11. The upside- I could have an affair on the couch in front of him. He wouldn't notice. The downside- I could have a heart attack on the couch in front of him. He wouldn't notice. Jessphenomy- Who did what to you. Did it have to do with pheramones? I doubt it, because you seem seriously angry. Take a deep breath and talk to us. We can solve any...
  12. I have never used my pot for anything but keeping food warm on a buffet, but am trying to reduce my carbon foot print. I have an over-sized oven and would like to use it less. Anybody got some good recipes? Espcially full meals in the crock pot.
  13. And to Mandolin (you guys thaught you got rid of me- ha). Your parents are saints! It was all I could do to raise 3 kids. I have so much awe and respect for people that do what they did. Saints!
  14. A beuuuuuutiful day in Ohio. But, I am gggroaningly mad. Overnight, the racoons attacked my garden and ate all but 1 lousy ear of corn. Thats 3, 40 foot rows! Earlier in the season the small critters ate all my lettuce, chard, and green beans. All I have left are mators and plumkins! Juds- want to trade houses? Too many critters around here. ...

  20. I had a bout with acute pancreatitus in the mid 80's. The pain was horrible - like nothing I'd ever experienced. I was in the hospital for 6 days, most of it a blur because of the need for potent painkillers. Then, it went as fast as it came. Fast forward to Oct. of 08. During my search to find out what was wrong with me, a series of tests were done...
  21. Since I've resently turned Rushin, you will forever be known as my Czarest JNloeska Almay Phlobunnidiev. The gown, cape, and tilapia are about the same, but the risk of being behinded is much greater as Rusha is a much grater and cheesier country. Your country, I'm thinking America, for sure has it's fairy share of queens, also, but they tend to mitigate...
