foodiegurl posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Has anyone had tamales by this company: www.texastamale.com I saw them at the store today and the packaging caught my eye. I called the company from my cell in the store and they said they were all gluten-free, but I would also feel more comfortable if someone else can say they ate them I bought the black bean with cilantro tamales. -

Thank you for posting this, I actually wrote that article I am very excited too, and while I didn't really use it before on a daily basis, I liked having it on hand for certain items, and impossible brunch pie I think it is great to know that large companies are making items available in the mainstream. foodiegurl replied to foodiegurl's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Yes, I know I can make hummus, and actually have all the ingredients on hand, but I will wanted something quick and easy and I used to always eat this brand, so that is why the new packaging and lack of explanation on their web site leaves me confused. Thanks -
ARCHIVED Tribe Hummus
foodiegurl replied to foodiegurl's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Yes, I did check the web site as I was at the store, and that is the thing, they don't even mention gluten, yet they say it is dairy and soy-free. So if it was gluten-free, and it used to even label it gluten-free, why would they not mention it now?? Very interesting....mm...... -
ARCHIVED Tribe Hummus
foodiegurl posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Does anyone know if this is still gluten-free? I know it used to say 'gluten-free' on the package, and when I was at the store today, I noticed none of them had the label, and then I checked their web site on my phone..and it says dairy-free, kosher, etc.... but nothing about being gluten-free, yet is has some natural flavoring in it, so I am nervous to... -

ARCHIVED Real Corn Bread! And Noodle Kugel!
foodiegurl replied to cycler's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I know this is an old thread, but I just wanted to say I am so excited to look for those noodles, if they still have any in stock since it is after Passover. But one noodle I have found that really tastes like egg noodles are corn noodles by Cornito, a Hungarian company. I used these noodles to make a sweet noodle kugel last month and it came out pretty... -

ARCHIVED Glutened Right Before Retest, What To Do?
foodiegurl posted a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I have been gluten-free for over a year and feel great, and very rarely get glutened, but then yesterday I go to my annual physical, and ask for my levels to be retested.....my Dr gives me the form to do it on Monday, and on the way home I buy some TrueNorth Almond Clusters to try for the first time since their web site says gluten-free.....and I get glutened... -
ARCHIVED Bob's Red Mill Red Lentils
foodiegurl posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I know Bob's Red Mill red lentils are not listed as gluten-free and are made on shared lines, but they do have a strict cleaning policy. However, I have had quite the saga discovering mystery grains in my red lentils, even after they sent me a replacement package. In the end, I sent them the grains, which I thought were barley, ended up being wheat and... -
ARCHIVED True North Almond Nut Clusters
foodiegurl posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I bought these yesterday after hearing they were gluten-free and looking on their web site and also seeing that they are listed as gluten-free, but I was badly glutened, and the only other thing I ate was leftovers from the night before that I cooked, so I know it is this. Such a horrible night last night Anyone else have problems with them? -

ARCHIVED What To Do For My gluten-free Anniversary?
foodiegurl posted a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I cannot believe it has almost been 1 year that I have been gluten-free! In some ways it seems like years, in other ways it seems like yesterday. I remember coming here constantly when I was first diagnosed and how wonderful everyone has been and continue to be on my journey. I remember reading other people who passed this milestone and never thought... -
ARCHIVED Hp Sauce-gluten Free?
foodiegurl replied to dally099's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I would love if it was gluten-free. My husband is from England so this was a staple in our house, especially the Fruity one, that was my favorite. I must have read somewhere that it was not gluten-free, because I banished it from the house, but I really wish it was safe! -

ARCHIVED I Feel Off The Meatless Wagon
foodiegurl posted a topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I have not eaten meat in over 5 years, except for fish. (I know I am being a hypocrite, but that is besides the point I cut out meat because I just couldn't stand the thought of eating something alive, and wondering what had been done to it, especially after reading the many books on the topic I have. (Though, yes, I know the same should apply to fish... -
