  1. I have read many posts where people are positive they are being CC with something that touched something else...a utensil, something that may not have been cleaned, a food item that was supposed to be gluten-free, etc... What I am wondering is how are you able to pin it down?? I was just thinking as I go about my day, if I did feel glutened, how would...
  2. I am desperate to find an alternative to eradicating my h.pylori. I have gotten some good info on here from members, and i thank you!! I know DGL is supposed to be helpful, and then i read how some people have used this combined with mastic gum. I just want to avoid the antibiotics at all costs, but not take something with any scary side effects as...
  3. I know this is an old thread, but I just wanted to comment After spending $11 of some loaves of gluten-free bread, I found this brown rice bread at Trader Joe's for $3.49, and I think it is my favorite!! For the past 2 mornings I have been having 2 slices of it toasted with butter and yummy!! I actually love the chewiness. But then I was never...
  4. I was there today for lunch, and it was so yummy!! I had a grilled veggie sandwich on sprouted grain bread with feta and a tapenade spread, and it was delicious, and the bread tasted better than any bread. Before, I would only eat the insides of my sandwich and toss the bread, but this I are it all up!! For my daughter, who is not gluten-free, had...
  5. So, your h.pylori came back? See that is one of my major issues with taking the meds...everyone I know who has had it, said the meds didn't work. And 2) since I am highly allergic to 3 different antibiotics already, and can't take the prev-pack, i have to take 2 other antibiotics at 7 pills a day, and am worried i will have an allergic reaction. And...
  6. Also wanted to add, my husband who does not have celiac loved all the stuff from here even more than regular bakeries!
  7. Yummy, Rose's is so good!! I live close so I actually go once a week, and am going tomorrow! Everyone there is super helpful and friendly! They have a cafe for lunch and a children's play area. I have also seen families come in at night for special pizza nights. My first visit there was so overwhelming because there is so much, like any other bakery,...
  8. I have issues with this as well. Walking and exercise is the one thing that works well for me, as well as prunes and lots of water.
  9. I actually accidentally bought an organic bottle of this stuff about a month ago - lol. I was shopping, looked at the bottle, and forgot it was in my cart...blame it on my daughter and paid way too much for it, I realized after I got home! Anyway, being that I am low in iron, and I am not crazy about iron pills, could I take this..and at what dose? ...
  10. I definitely agree with you here! I have spent time living abroad, and am married to a European so we get to travel over there often. No fast food for us, ever! My daughter has never even been to a McD's and she is not celiac. I do most of our cooking from scratch, I would say 90%, but I guess I assume there might be some things I need to take until...
  11. yes, I did have a CBC at the same time as my Celiac test, and as far as I know, I am only low in iron, but I go back later this week, so I will be sure ot get exact numbers. I have always felt the same as you 'mysecretcurse', i preferred to get my nutrients from food, but i guess now i am wondering if that is enough, since apparently, i have not been able...
  12. Do you take all of these at once? What brand sublingual B do you take?
  13. I am curious as to everyone's daily vitamin regimen. what do you take? do you take them all at the same time? do you have any side effects from them? I know I need to start taking some vitamins, I am bad, I haven't taken a multi-vitamin since I was pg,over 4 years ago. Once, in a while I will take zinc, and I try to take probiotics daily. But...
  14. It seems this winter my skin was drier than usual. I have a pre-schooler so I was my hands like crazy anyway, so I attribute that to my dry hands. Anyway, I feel like my neck is starting to sag, I am 36, and this is thoroughly depressing me. I don't notice saggieness anywhere else, just under my chin, it probably doesn't help that I am constantly on...
  15. Oh, trust me, I do have feeling about not eating meat. Yes, I have craved it....but then 5 minutes later, I realize why I don't want to eat it. It is a difficult decision, and I am not sure what to do. I go through many emotions over this. I wish it would be so easy to decide, but unfortunately, it is not
  16. thanks for the advice. i started a food journal today. interesting, that i noticed on 2 of the days that i had the worst tummy pain, i had spinach. i sure hope spinach is not a culprit, since i love it. however, my sister who is allergic to wheat (and i am suspecting celiac as well) can not tolerate spinach. wow that would not be fun. i am pretty...
  17. Is this the same for other food intolerances, such as casein, legumes, soy, etc? Will these not cause harm as wheat does?
  18. You guys have all given me such great things to think about!! I have been getting "Food & Wine" magazine for over 10 years, and I LOVE to cook, but obviously, I have ignored the meat dishes for about 4 years now...but a part of me is excited to go back, and now make all the meat dishes that looked yummy! But it also feels so wrong to me at the same...
  19. Thank you for your advice, it is really helpful. I am actually on page10 of Omnivore's Dilemma!
  20. I am really curious to know mentally how people went from being veggie to carnivores too!
  21. Also, since I have only been gluten-free for 3 weeks, are my villi already starting to heal? So, is the pain a good thing then..meaning i am starting to heal? Because I have been freaking out something else is wrong with me I actually had a thai dish last week with egg and tofu in it...no problem whatsoever. I had an omelette last week, again, no...
  22. Interesting. Egg cooked in baked goods don't seem to bother me (is this common?). Dairy has seemed ok, but maybe it is not and I haven't noticed. I know yogurt makes me feel good, but yogurt is usually ok even with a lactose intolerance, right? I would hate to have to cut out dairy, can most people introduce it back in their diets without a problem in...
  23. Thanks. i know other people have told me I am probably now missing the appropriate enzyme or whatever it is needed to digest meat. Since I do eat fish, do I still have it, or is that digested by something different? The other week, I did have a few bites of bacon i my salad with no problem, and boy, was it yummy!!
  24. I have been a "pescatarian" (a vegetarian who eats fish) for a few years now. And now that I can't have gluten, and have to cut out so many things, part of me is craving meat. Honestly, I have been craving pot roast for years now!! Maybe because I am low in iron? lol. I have pretty strong convictions about why I don't eat meat, yet I find myself craving...
  25. i found out I had Celiac, by total freak accident. Went in for a physical..told dr about reflux I have been having off and on...turns out I have h.pylori, and Celiac...but I think the reflux was/is from the h.pylori. I wasn't having any lower GI issues, only gas, which I always had, but I guess this is from the Celiac. I cut out week 3 weeks ago and...
