  1. arrghghh, I had a slip up in VBS Tuesday night and most likely glutened myself considering how sick I was. My feet hurt and my left knee is swollen and feels like my knee cap is locking-ouch it hurts. I'd started back on my couch to 5k program awhile back with no pain, so I'm hoping that this knee pain is connected to the glutening and not to the running...
  2. I have DH, use purpose soap free face wash, and so far vanicream lotion has left me very happy with the results. I'm also on differin/benzoyl peroxide (alternating days) and the vanicream has made a huge difference in my face. I may try the "lighter" feel version for daytime use (I bought the original version $12 pump at walgreens) I can't find any gluten...
  3. I'm paranoid but I only cook in my personal stainless steel "gluten better never touch em" pans. I love the hormel naturals bacon with no added nitrites and preservatives...says gluten free on the package.
  4. I stopped using Giovanni products because the ones I was using had wheat. I didn't use the lotion, but for me I would worry about CC even if it didn't have wheat. But the best way to know for sure is from the company. I have to be extra careful because of my DH flaring up, but many people don't worry so much as long as they don't ingest it. I just started...
  5. My dogs are on Natural Way Lassie food, its corn and wheat free, but I still use a scoop and wash my hands just in case. I'm in lotion turmoil right now. I heard that cetaphil can cause problems because of CC (cetaphil is what my dr wanted me to try) but I have to have a very gentle, lanolin free, shea butter free, extra sensitive lotion. I'm on Differin...
  6. Don't give up! I'm so tickled and thankful I don't know what to do. Woke up this mornig and weighed, I'm within 8 tenths of a pound of being UNDER 200!!!!! Whoooo HOOOOO!! I started at 242, then went on strict low carb diet, no bread, pasta etc (before being diagnosed and clueless as to why I felt so much better) and lost 70+ pounds. I then went back off...
  7. I went off caffeine in March, seriously I was messed up (as in thought I was losing it messed up, I felt horrible). ...even more with being on gluten. So I can hazard aguess that by cutting back on caffeine, gluten, etc that your body is mot very happy right now. I did have to cut out dairy, soy when I went gluten free in June, I felt great for about 2-3...
  8. I've had them too, same reaction, horrified. one day I woke up trying to throw up the Papa John's pizza I'd dreamed that I'd accidentally eaten... when someone hid some in my gluten-free Uno chicago pizza box.
  9. Have you had a reaction with the Glutino meals before? Just wondering, I can't eat them. I got glutened at a meal where I didn't eat anything LOL. I was serving and somehow I ingested something wrong, thinking maybe I touched my straw or something. I must seem so paranoid to my friends and family. Hope you feel better soon!
  10. I have to take a day in between and rest, some of those days are complete rest...especially if I've ran and done strength training. I'm just taking it one day at a time and making sure I get some protein after each workout. I think its just something that will get better as we heal. I do know that when I get glutaminated I can barely do anything that involves...
  11. both of my dogs are on a wheat and corn free diet and they do fabulously! I was using California Natural (love this brand) but $ has been a factor so I went to Natural Way (Lassie) food, still wheat and corn free and the dogs still do great. It was amazing when I made the change from wheat and corn, my big dog lost 15 pounds and his skin/digestive issues...
  12. Welcome, hope that you're on your way to feeling great soon! I use sparkpeople for weight loss and LOVE it! My ID is nahum1_7 on there. I've lost almost 20 pounds since going gluten free June 2, though I also had to give up dairy and soy too. But as long as I don't get glutaminated I 'm feeling so much better! ((((hugs))))) have a great blessed day!
  13. I'm in Raleigh, but if he can make the 25-35 min drive then Uno Chicago has fabulous gluten free pizza! Its in the Brier Creek shopping center, thats my one dairy splurge and I have yet to get sick...my kids love it too! I have yet to dine at the "regualr" restaurants yet, still too chicken about CC, but Uno is extremely careful once you let them know...
  14. You have every right to be upset, what if this were your child that had been exposed to intestinal damage because of their carelessness? I've thought alot about cooking gluten free baked goods for others to sell since I love baking. But I would never take on a venture like that without knowing that whatever I cooked in and with had not been exposed to gluten...
  15. Today is much better, I was able to run today. I'm wiped out but very thankful
  16. I know, I was thinking that I might as well of hit Pizza Inn head on. yikes on the 4-5 days. This is so not worth it. I was seeking a diagnosis for the kids because of their dad. Honestly him and his family didn't even listen to me when I asked them to keep our asthmatic child away from cigarette smoke, so they probably would ignore this too. He's only had...
  17. Well Im so stupid, I've been trying to keep my kids on gluten until they can test (well 2 of them because one felt so much better after going gluten free with me he doesnt want to bother)..but anyway I glutened myself pretty good. I think it must've been the griddle or other CC while cooking. I can barely hold my eyes open, stomach is so messed up, bloated...
  18. Thsi was why I stopped running, had one doc say that she was sure I had torn my acl...then the second one said it looked perfectly fine. I would have spells where one or both of my knees would swell and hurt terribly. I'm taking it slow but looking forward to getting back into running as I heal.
  19. I love BBQ, the best place near where I am in Raleigh is Hog Heaven which I'm sure is not gluten free. But there isn't I food I miss that would be worth going back to feeling so horrible for. I'm not tempted to cheat, I'm so glad to finally start to feel "normal". I understand what you're saying. I wish that the Dr.s had caught what was going on with...
  20. I have to be careful of sunflower/safflower oils and the only kind I've tried so far is the millet bread (food of the earth I think) its pretty good, WAY too many calories, but good. I usually eat one slice since each slice is 100 calories.
  21. I use clear care (the kind with the little bottle that bubbles to clean the lenses). I then use the solution left over after they are cleaned in the bottle to put the contacts in. My Dr. suggested this, she said that the solution left over is the purest there is. I can't use any kind of OTC rewetting dropps or saline, makes me break out horribly in and around...
  22. I had very low potassium problems as well, so thankful you and your sister are on the road to recovery! After confirming my DH I cancelled the appt to talk about the biopsy with the GI, I've felt so much better these past few weeks, no way am I doing a gluten challenge...I have nightmares about accidentally eating bread LOL. Its amazing how it affects not...
  23. I gained weight before being diagnosed, alot of it! I tried and tried to lose these past few months and didn't budge. Since going off gluten June 2 I've lost 18 pounds...this past week I'm off dairy, soy, and just recently realised that cottonseed oil might be making me bloat again, so thats out too. I record my food intake on sparkpeople (well this week...
  24. I go to a Paul Mitchell school and love it. I print out what products can be used on my hair, because of DH I have to be very careful. They are wonderful about making sure they don't use anything that they shouldn't. The best is that its only $10 and I get an amazing cut everytime.
  25. This has got me thinking. Whenever I ate sunflower anything I got blisters on my eyeballs, lips, face, hands, chest, etc..... hmmmmmmm
