  1. I know you were asking about Cookie Crisp and not options for other cereals, but as a 26 year old who would eat Lucky Charms today if I could, I like to have a nice sweet bowl of cereal every once in a while! I LOVE the Envirokids Peanut Butter Panda Puffs. It looks like Kix but tastes like Captain Crunch. It is Gluten-Free and organic. It is completely...
  2. Just don't eat your shampoo and sunscreen and you can use whatever you want. As a marketer, I can appreciate the "gluten-free" shampoo (body wash/sunscreen/conditioner) thing, because people who cannot EAT gluten will buy it thinking they have to. Lipstick/gloss/balm can be a different story if you are very sensitive since you can get that into your...
  3. Wait, what's wrong with coffee.......... ?
  4. Don't you feel sick as a dog when you eat gluten!?!? I can't imaging eating gluten on purpose, the pain and anguish I would go through for the sake of eating a cookie - absolutely not worth it. Perhaps you are asymptomatic? I guess it's hard to tell you to just think about your health - if you are sure you have Celiac Disease or gluten intolerance...
  5. In the upper left corner in the search box, type in "rash" and "hives" and see what comes up from previous posts - there is A LOT on this subject as a rash is common. Luckily your question might be answered somewhere already. Good luck
  6. For me, there is no point in having a doctor tell me I have it. I know I have it, so that is enough for me. I am self-diagnosed just like your boyfriend. I feel like a superstar without it, I want to curl up and die with it. We have a family history so it wasn't hard for me to decide to cut out gluten and see if that helped. I tried cutting out dairy...
  7. I'm confused - eliminating gluten and eating low-carb are not at all the same diet..
  8. Guy - I couldn't agree more with what RiceGuy said about suffering for something you already know to be true. I'm happy to read you are going to forgo the test, because honestly what does it do for us? We eat gluten-free and are finally HAPPY and feel GREAT, then we have to torture ourselves and destroy our bodies, for a doctor to call us and say "oh, yep...
  9. I don't believe you actually "withdraw" from gluten? It's not like quitting smoking or drinking coffee - thankfully! I for one felt like a completely new person the very next day after my first solid day of eating completely gluten-free. I would imagine you are sore and having headaches from something unrelated to not eating gluten. Like someone else...
  10. That sounds about right for the devil's food cake as well, but the commenter's child has no issues with soy, just nuts and eggs. I think most items will be safe if an egg sub is used.
  11. I have a friend whose father is eating gluten-free and when we talked about it (I was so excited! A friend that would understand me!) he said: "oh, he doesn't know what gluten is, he just thinks gluten-free stuff is health food because it's in the organic section at Dierbergs." Ugh. Awesome. I talked to him about it a little bit and he says: "Oh......
  12. Definitely almonds Have you ever tried the Think Thin bars? Open Original Shared Link They have around 20 grams of protein and are gluten free. They were created by a former model who was working long hours, traveling around the world, always needing a quick snack to get her through to the next job, and created this line out of the fact that it...
  13. If you cannot afford it, you can always keep on the gluten-free diet and know that the gluten-free diet is all the proof that you need. You don't really NEED a blood test to tell you something you already learned, unless you would like to have a clinical diagnosis. For me, diet is enough, and I never want to have to go back to eating gluten in order to...
  14. I actually made the devil's food cake last night and can I just say, it was the most amazing birthday cake we've ever had. The mix is nut free and egg free. You add: water, 3 eggs, 1 stick butter. Yes you can try the egg substitute, I'm sure that would be fine. I don't know about the other items (there are cookies, brownies, and a yellow cake) but...
  15. Hi! I don't know what the deal with private messaging is, but feel free to e-mail me at jess_clawson@yahoo.com! I'd love to chat. Welcome to the forum!

  16. WOW I'm so glad someone asked this question, this is something I never thought about. I figure(d) quick-tempered, moody, impatient, etc etc were (are) just parts of my personality, but now that I'm starting my gluten-free diet (and immediately physically I already feel better) maybe I'll realize I'm much more calm of a person??!? I too have CONSTANT headaches...
  17. Hey Amy Leigh from MO! I'm in St Louis - are you saying I can go to Schnuck's and find the devil's food cake mix for my fiance's birthday cake that I have to make in 2 weeks!!?? This is fantastic! He can eat gluten, but I can't, so I told him he would have a gluten-free cake so I could practice gluten-free baking, and have his cake and eat it too
  18. Thanks for all the replies on this bread. Clearly I didn't want to try it either , but I figured someone had to have had it before they were diagnosed or tried it after they were diagnosed thinking the "sprouted" was safe. Thanks again!
  19. Yes David, that post was wonderful, I'm curious are there recipes you might recommend for birthday cake!!?? There's one go-to gluten free cake I use but I'd like to try something new too.
  20. I have a question, why would meat NOT be gluten free!? What is added and why wouldn't you just eat fresh meats? Thanks!
  21. Yes Chocolate. I could have just as easily named myself "TiffLuvsChocolate" or various other foods! THANK YOU for the helpful answer. I understand much better now. I asked the question because there are many people here who don't know what to eat (as I assessed from other threads on the board), have tried various things that thought might work, and...
  22. jf4: There were also some people commenting on bread mixes on the sprouted bread/Ezekiel bread thread in this same forum. I learned of some that I might want to try!
  23. Crayons - thank you very much! I was hoping to find someone who has eaten this type of bread who could actually describe the reaction or lack of reaction. "Terrible reactions" is what I was looking for, and exactly what I suspected. Other posters pointed out the other ingredients that are not sprouted which would certainly aggravate symptoms.
  24. I hope you like salad . . .
