  1. I went gluten free for 2 weeks and during those two weeks I experienced withdrawals---headaches, gassy, and exhausted, BUT I had a better sense of well-being at the same time. Do you feel better with your depression/anxiety? I tell people to do it for 2 weeks and then go back to eating gluten and see if you can see any differences. Everyone's body is different...

    ARCHIVED Sick

Hello~ I went gluten-free a little over 2 months ago. I literally went gluten-free with everything! Maybe exposed to gluten 2-3 times in the beginning. About 2 days ago I started to feel achy and nauseous. Those symptoms are gone, but my stomach feels "odd". It feels tender and hurts if I push on it. I originally went on a gluten-free diet for neurological...
  3. Ahhh! I thought I was the only one struggling with this ridiculous 6 mos. looking belly. I have been gluten free for 2 months. After 2-3 weeks my belly went the flattest I have seen in years!!! I was so excited, BUT then something happen or something I started eating kicked in and it has its ups and downs I am still trying to pinpoint what it is. I know...
  4. Check this article out... Not much different, but good to know Mayo is possibly taking steps to be more educated and informative on it and to take it more seriously to some degree. Open Original Shared Link
  5. I have been asked quite a few times by people who are curious about my gluten-free diet change, why people are becoming more and more intolerant to gluten if gluten is a natural thing for us. People have grown wheat on farms for as long as we can remember. I am always stumped when I come upon this question. How would you explain this to someone?
  6. Hello~ I have been gluten-free for 2 mos. I have seen INCREDIBLE results and can't imagine eating a diet with gluten in it again. One thing I have noticed the past few weeks is my skin is extremely dry, flaky, and breaking out on my forehead and sides (close to my ears). I was chatting with my skin care consultant and she asked if I had made any changes in...
  7. Going gluten-free has changed the way I feel mentally and emotional dramatically! I have dealt with sadness, depression, and anxiety for a couple years now and have struggled to overcome it. I went gluten-free for other reasons, but noticed a change in my behaviors not too long after I went gluten-free. When I accidentally get in touch with gluten food, my...
  8. Thanks so much for this information! I was able to figure out the puzzle to the location I can purchase gluten-free food online
  9. I did not know B.C. had gluten-free cake mixes! Would I find that in the health section of the grocery store or in the regular baking aisle? Very exciting!
  10. Yep! Check out the The View website and look under recaps for the recipes. Very exciting!
  11. I will be attending a camp for school that food is already provided for. I got a hold of the menu and will be bringing quite a bit of my own food. One thing I want is a good treat to have when all the other campers are munching on yummy food. I want to be sure I bring a good treat and not be disappointed when I open it up and it eat. Any good treat ideas...

    ARCHIVED French Fries

I have gone out to eat twice this week. I'm finding it more and more difficult to do this. Not much to choose from! Anyway, I ordered a seasoned chicken breast and french fries. I just assumed the fries would be o.k.! But, after both meals my energy shot down and I was pretty tired. Was I wrong to assume french fries were o.k.?!

    ARCHIVED Bloated

I'm trying to eliminate dairy to see if that is why I feel bloated. I have seen some positive results, but it's so hard eliminating dairy. Can I things like soy yogurt and rice milk in the meantime, if I want to eliminate dairy. Is soy o.k. for you?
  14. I just made this and it was absolutely delicious! The only question or problem I encountered was that the creamy mixture was soup-like when I pulled it out of the oven. Did I not cook it long enough (it was bubbling), or did I miss something or is that just how it's supposed to me. Great recipe!

    ARCHIVED Bloated

I have been gluten-free for almost 2 weeks. It has been going well. I have seen a lot of positive changes. However, I have noticed as the days increase being gluten-free, I have felt more and more bloated. I have had regular BM, but I continue to feel bloated in the stomach area. Is this normal? Could it be related to eating dairy? I'm trying to pinpoint...
  16. The recipe have followed in the past before going gluten-free includes a can of cream of potato soup. That has wheat flour in it. All of your ideas sounds delicious. I just might need a step by step recipe. I am cook illiterate!
  17. I have been wanting to bake a homemade pot pie for some time, but struggling to find a recipe that is gluten-free. Is it possible to make a gluten-free pot pie? I'm craving a simple and delicious meal. Thanks!
  18. This was absolutely delicious! I am new to the gluten-free diet and it was so relieving to come upon a recipe that taste excellent. Because I will be eating the muffins for breakfast, I eliminated the toppings (less sugar). It is amazingly great! Thanks for the recipe.
  19. I just realized at the end of the month I will be attending a camp for about a week and I will run upon gluten meals---YIKES! My initial thought was to bring my own meals, but I should find out if I would be able to cook that somewhere first. Would it be alright to contact the camp and discuss this matter? I have been gluten-free for a week, and I have seen...
  20. Tomorrow I am going strawberry picking, but I need to find something to make the strawberries with! I am not a jam person. Anyone have a recipe for a gluten-free pie crust, so I can make a strawberry pie? Thanks!
  21. I just increased my calcium-magnesium dose and hope that helps! One thing I need to do is change the time of taking them from morning to evening.
  22. Should I eat veggies and fruits without the skin? I have never done that. I always eat with the skin (apples). I'll have to look for gluten-free fiber products. I try my best to drink water, but I probably only get about 20 oz. a day. I have struggled with constipation for quite some time, in hopes that going gluten-free will eliminate it to some degree....
  23. Thanks for the informing note. Even though it's not fun experiencing these headaches, it's good to know it's possible to experience them as part of the withdrawing process. I have been gluten-free for 4 days and I can honestly say I feel amazing! I still have the headaches, but it has decreased dramatically. I'm going to see a physical therapist about possible...
