  1. I'm pretty positive I was glutened by a Thai kitchen soup... because the only thing I ate on saturday was a red pepper, a bit of leftover mac and cheese (which I made myself!), and the soup... Weird thing is that had another bowl of it today without my symptoms getting any worse. Is it possible it was just one bad one in the batch? Or am I too damaged...
  2. Thanks, I'm still a little achy there today, so it must be a slight glutening for sure. I think I may try eat another one of them today, and see if my pains get worse. Then I know it was just one with slight contamination, or I suddenly can't tolerate any of them Right when I'm busy studying for a quiz...what perfect timing for brainfog, huh? rumbles...
  3. Uh oh...something I ate today (that usually satisfy ALL diets) might have glutened me? and its something that has always, always been safe?? Starting since this afternoon I've been feeling some insane pains in the typical glutening area...ahhhh!
  4. A little extra stress sure seems to set off a Celiac attack more easily than it used to :/
  5. uh oh...I went for my session today and because of the mystery stomach pains (extreme pains on left side, severe nausea, dizziness) for the second time in the last 5 days she changed the treatment. She was going to use shock therapy but said that could set it off more if it is the kidney. So instead she used an ultrasound machine (which oddly enough, DOES...
  6. So my instructor was not very happy with me... I very nicely said in an email that I would like to know why the agreement was changed and that it made me feel very uneasy after missing future classes. Also said that I don't expect her to drop everything for just one student, but think it's fair that I ask to feel comfortable. I haven't had a chance to...
  7. and i was yold that with IBS i should eat a lot of whole wheat!! the specialists didnt want to believe me that i had celiac and was already gluten-free, so told me quit the diot.
  8. I noticed you also got the IBS diagnosis. Someone is right...it really is what they say when they can't diagnose what else is wrong (and they say IBS even tho all info on it says you'll strictly NOT have a certain symptom, yet you do). It's all I've heard for the past 6 years. What exactly kind of symptoms are you getting?
  9. No i haven't had the chance to talk to my doctor, yet. It's not easy to miss class and take a trip home just for that, you can't just walk in... I was breathing through my scarf which I layed into 5 or 6 layers on those cold days. Now that its warmer I'm still breathing through my sleeve or something. Just so that I don't get any of the air in. 60% lungs...
  10. Just want to say that I had the initial session...quite expensive for just a brief intro into things. All she really did was ask for my medical history, what sort of medications I'm on, to give permission to see x-rays of my back, to send information/session results to my family doctor, and tested muscle strengths or whatever all over. Definitely discovered...
  11. You said it perfectly. That's why this is bothering so much...not that everything isn't getting done, because each instructor has their own things to go out of there way, but because i had the rug pulled out from under me. The instructor who will be emailing me the assignments and exams is understanding in that way. I had one do the same thing my very first...
  12. "Hi Lisa,I think you should copy and paste almost all of this email to [instructor's name goes here], with a CC to me. She is the one who has changed that it must be carbonless duplicate paper, I did not make this suggestion or 'rule' I think that you can just 'tone down' a bit of what you are stating and give her these questions. She has been very anxious...
  13. Thanks, Patti! Mother of Jibril: The new/improved system from the disability office, which they just started last spring I believe, was that before the semester the office emails each instructor in advance, usually 3 weeks before the classes start letting them of any students who needs accommodations. They can't make/change any decisions until they...
  14. So apparently the outline was uploaded on WebCT...its a good thing I signed on there too look at another class otherwise I would have never known! I wrote the email..basically I told her that I dont blame her, but I'm concerned that things are looking the way the did in first year where i was nearly failing classes and that its not fair the agreements...
  15. Yup, definitely the most common line out there!! I laugh at people when they ask that.
  16. She knew I was going to be away for a funeral last thursday, and I warned her in advanced that I'd likely also miss tuesday (which I did, except for back spasms reason). I don't have any doctors note of it because if I can't get out of my bed, I can't get to a doctor. It was a classmate who agreed to give me notes. Instead, I go to meet after class today...
  17. My first year of university I DID fail, but they let me back in as an exception because of the disability office at the university not satisfying the required accommodations (such as notetakers, extended times on exams/assignments, etc). Rememebr that I am registered with them because of Celiac... I was promised that this year things were never going...
  18. Yeah, I was always still popping on but wasn't posting much until recently again. Have found a real need for everyone lately, and nobody understands each other better than Celiacs! I haven't had an endoscopy done since January 2007, but I don't really want another....all that they found at that time was the Hiatus Hernia and Candidial Esophagitis (or...
  19. Sure sounds familiar!! I thought maybe I have refractory sprue, but the only specialist who even believes that I have Celiac says he doesn't think so. January 1st was my 6th year anniversary of my start with Celiac, so next month will be my 6th year gluten-free. On the 28th, however, is going to mark my 3rd year of constant pain...which is a mystery,...
  20. Ahhh I think I have valid reason for my arthritis to be a terrible, terrible flare. The current temperature outside right now, at 12:50 a.m., is -40 C, with a -53 C windchill... thats -40 F, and -63 F windchill. I'm sure even people with HEALTHY backs can get it chilled. But this is just awful...I didnt fall asleep til 7 am (and then didnt go to class...
  21. Yeah they have a lot of the gluten-free Bob's red mill flours, also. An entire section of them. I just wish that ALL locations had the same kinds of foods! Sucks when you have to run around the city to the different Safeway stores just to find something that you're looking for. I've never checked for waffles...which company of them?
  22. The only 2 bread products I like from Glutino is the baguettes and the hamburger buns. Mmmm hamburger buns. Too bad I can't eat hamburgers very often lol. But next time I plan to make a trip to Wendy's I think I'll take a bun along!
  23. Omg yes...I usually would not eat either ingredient, but one day tried that pizza, and fell in love with it!
  24. Interesting suggestions, thank you! Though I wouldn't do the jello thing...ANYTHING that looks likes jelly grosses me out. I've never eaten Jello as a kid and not about to start now . I don't even eat headcheese for either xmas. And avoided xmas cakes because of the jelly-type candies in it. You get the picture hehe. I only wish that friday won't be...
  25. Sheesh, way to confuse a Celiac, hey?? Still is going to make me double-check anytime I buy a can or use someone else's cocoa, that's for sure.
