ARCHIVED New In Baltimore, Md
num1habsfan replied to cdog7's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
You should be able to find a lot of stuff in Baltimore, if you didn't already know that haha. I have an internet from there and a couple times she sent me little gluten-free things in the mail!! I just don't know exactly where she found these things, I think a lot of it just in the grocery stores. ~ Lisa ~ -
ARCHIVED Seeing Too Much 'normal Food' At The University
num1habsfan replied to num1habsfan's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
That sucks!!! I don't eat them often. I just use the Only Oats mixes for the muffins and cookies and pancakes. And that is only once in awhile. Otherwise i hate the stuff . Never eaten anything like oatmeal or those breakfast things before and don't plan to start eating the gluten-free stuff either if its not in baking. Yeah waiting forever sucks..... -
What kind of beans do you mean exactly?? I definitely know that going back to meat isn't possible. I've been eating it for 5 days in a row, not in huge amounts (parents feed me and made me eat, what can I say ) and today I can feel a flareup coming on so I'm going to have to be very careful for the next few days and eat almost nothing until the flare...

I'm about as sensitive as a person can get, as you know, and i never did from this brand..I bet people won't even know i'm eating something different ~ Lisa ~ -

ARCHIVED Good Corn-free Icing?
num1habsfan replied to CeliacInSanDiego's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
What about the Energy Source chocolate chips?? I dont think they have anything corn. I melt a bunch of those in a pot, with a little lactose-free margarine, and pour in some gluten-free icing sugar. It makes the PERFECT chocolate icing. In my opinion anyways hehe ~ Lisa ~ -

num1habsfan replied to jerseygrl's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Everytime I order bread I get one of them. I prefer the chocolate ones...just beause they are the most like the real thing. I figure i'm paying $10 for shipping anyways so might as well order a few dollars more ~ Lisa ~ -
ARCHIVED Finally Got Consultation Letter

I think you all remember that I'm currently awaiting testing on my gallbladder. My mom said I got a letter in the mail today, but she didnt really pay attention who it was from. She'll get my sister to come onto MSN later to tell me details. I'm assuming that's my gallbladder consultation because she said its with a gastroenterologist in Regina---and it isnt... -

ARCHIVED Seeing Too Much 'normal Food' At The University
num1habsfan replied to num1habsfan's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hmm well i'm going to have to find out about that. Once things settle down I'll definitely go have a talk with the lady. First I need to manage to get through these midterms and move ...in 4 days from now, after I START packing on Friday, AND trying to get my soon ex-roomate to leave the $200 for my parents before saturday (when she's running away to avoid... -
ARCHIVED Seeing Too Much 'normal Food' At The University
num1habsfan replied to num1habsfan's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I tried bringing up gluten-free in this place before, when I came before classes started for that orientation and couldn't eat anything at lunch, so I waited 30 out of the 45 min lunch break for them to bring me a gluten-free salad, and what did they do? put ham instead of chicken. I was too hungry though so ate it. Someone on this forum here went to the... -
ARCHIVED Seeing Too Much 'normal Food' At The University
num1habsfan posted a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I know all I ever seem to do is rant, but I think it is time to do so again. I really don't know why this is happening to me, but I'm really feeling overwhelmed, seems like more and more every day, by being at this university. The thing is, the only places a person can really sit at a table happen to be at one of 2 cafeterias. So what I have to do... -
That is my fear too, that I won't get a diagnosis until its i'm dying and its already too late to save me.. I have been pressing, but i've had a couple doctors tell me that i'm nuts and making it all up and I should go see a psychiatrist instead And no, I have had no sorts of accidents or any other surgeries. The only areas I've badly injured is...

I wouldnt think of it being related to Candida, either...and they arent glutened pains because those are a little higher up in the right side and aren't nearly as severe. It may be interesting if I do get to go back on the antifungal pills (assuming my phaacist can find the name of it). Wonder if my extreme pains will lessen.. ~ Lisa ~

ARCHIVED A Gluten "slip Up"
num1habsfan replied to TCW's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
As nikky just said, it depends on your sensativity...for me it only takes a few minutes. Last year i had to eat gluten for 5 days before a scope and i nearly threw up WHILE eating a bun because I almost instantly got a reaction. ~ Lisa ~ -
Well lets just count how many doctors I'm seen: Yorkton, Regina, Saskatoon, Calgary, Saskatoon....4 different specialist, and 5 different family doctors. I think thats enough opinions . And none of them have been able to solve it or diagnose it just yet..and yes, going to dctors and getting tests done are free... Btw, the pains don't move at all...and...

ARCHIVED Car Sickness.......
num1habsfan replied to moldlady's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I have always had HORRIBLE car/motion sickness!! Come to think of it though, it has gotten slightly better since being gluten-free. I can at least sit a little further back in the bus if I had to without instantly wanting to throw up (although i prefer sitting up front if I can). I still have a lot of issues with the vehicle part of things, i usually kick... -
More than once, and it can't be the appendix because i've had these constant pains for over 2 years now... ~ Lisa ~

Hey scotty, no I do not get the bleeding every time I get the "burning" flareups. Its bad enough that every time I make my excessive trips to the washroom its black. Then after a few days, when the flareup 'cools down' it goes back to whatever you could call normal.. I was constant severe pains in my lower right side, just above the hip bone, and it's so...

I only discovered it being an IBD by doing self-research. It seems that doctors are obsessed with testing me only for Celiac, nothing else. I went and bought one of the official IBD books (a Canadian one, too) and my description of symptoms fit 100%. I also read the entire chapter in diet suggestions, so that's why I've been following it. It really seems...
