Hi Kim, I have always had a problem with bananas. Had the same symptoms as you. Never could understand why, but it looks like it might have been fructose malabsorption. Check that out. I finally am able to eat bananas without getting sick after being gluten free for 2 years.
Tomatoes and potatoes are from the nightshade family. The nightshade vegetables has toxins in them that make people sick. Potatoes, tomatoes, all bell peppers, eggplant, okra, etc. The nightshades will cause bone, joint pain as well as swelling.
Good luck.

Wow, that is way too much gluten free packaged food for your system to handle at the begining. You need to be on a more whole foods diet right now. Gradually ease into it. You are shocking your system big time. Also, by the way, Beano has wheat. And you may want to get rid of the dairy also.

There are days when I have a hard time wearing any type of clothing at all. It litterally hurts. According to my rheumatologist, it's my fibromyalgia. The nerves in the skin are in overdrive and can't turn themselves off. Uuuhhhh, not a good day when that happens.

How could we have an intolerance to potatoes? They come from the ground and are not processed.
The potatoe comes from the nightshade family. The plants were found to have toxins in them that were used as poisons back in the dark ages. For some of us we react to those toxins. For me it causes my arthritis to flare. Causes inflamation and swelling in my joints as well as a lot of bone pain along with stomach upset and just a general unwell feeling.
The nightshade family largely consists of potatoes, tomatoes, eggplant, all bell peppers and I think okra. Someone correct me if i'm wrong about the okra, but by process of elimination okra does the same thing to me.

Ate Udi's bread a few weeks ago and broke out in a rash within 30 minutes. The potato starch got me. Uuuuhhhh.

Hi There,
I have always been overweight since I was 14. I weighed 205 lbs. Kept that weight until I got pregnant at 18 then lost it down to 135. Then after the baby was born shot right back up. Bad Bad Pregnancy.
No matter what diet I tried couldn't lose it. Maybe a couple then right back up. It wasn't until after I went gluten free that the weight started coming off and it's staying off. My profile pic shows me at my heaviest. A week before I went gluten free. I have now lost a total of 40 lbs. Slow but steady about 2 and a half to 3 lbs a month. I can't eat a lot of the processed gluten-free foods because I get a reaction to a lot of them. There's a thread on here somewhere about being supersensitive. I guess i'm one of them. Nothing made that shares facilities with wheat and so on. Plus, I also have problems with dairy, soy and the nightshade vegetables too. What processed foods I do eat I try to make sure that they are not very high in carbs and sugars. I do not eat any gluten-free breads at all. I love brown rice but try to keep that to a low minimum too. I mainly eat meat, chicken, brown rice, corn, green beans, santita's corn chips, Lara bars, Hormel Canned chicken, carrots, sunflower seeds, almonds and walnuts. Lima beans, gluten-free bolthouse ranch dressing with a salad. Anyway, This is just a small sample of what I eat. YUM YUM.
My dr has always told me that for my body heighth and so on I need to be around 117 lbs. I've always laughed because I could not picture mysel getting that small. I can now, but i'm not going that far. If I did I would look like a concentration camp survivor and I know it. I am going to try to get down to about 128 lbs. Then when I get there i'll just add a little more carbs to keep from getting any skinnier. At least that's my plan anyway.
Sorry, I got carried away.
I would cut out a lot of the processed gluten-free foods and go strictly fresh foods. It may take a while but it'll be worth it in the end. Hang in there and I wish you luck.
Good luck and

I would love to eat a baked potato right now. mmmmmm. Anyway, I have had joint pain and swelling since I was 7 or 8 years old. The pain has gone down to a manageble level that I don't need Enbrel anymore. I have more movement and flexibility now. But man, If I eat anything i'm not supposed to I can't hardly move in the mornings. It causes my Fibro and RA to really act up and I'm in a lot of pain for the next couple days. So no more nightshades. I hope eventually I will be able to eat a potato or tomato but to me it's not worth the pain.

I stay away from Amy's. I have always had a reaction to anything I eat of hers.
