  1. I have DD coffee daily and never have any problems. But a word of caution, I did get gluttened once and I think it was from the lid being put on by someone who had just handled the donuts. Now I always remove the lid before drinking and have only had a few spills lol.
  2. The buns taste even better than gluten buns. I like the baguettes also. The only thing is there are 15 grams of fat in each bun and the baquettes are high also. I am guessing it is because of the mozzarella cheese. When I tried the buns the first time I ate three without stopping lol, they were so good. Now I watch and limit when I eat them but they...
  3. Here is a gluten-free blog website with a crescent roll recipe that is adaptable for turnovers. Hope this helps. www.glutenfree.wordpress.com Julie
  4. Reply I received today from Campbell's Soup: we received your message and appreciate your taking the time to contact Campbell Soup Company to learn more about the use of gluten in our products. The Campbell's Bean with Bacon Soup is not a gluten free product however, I would be happy to send you a copy of our gluten free list via the mail. Please...
  5. I thought I'd share the reply from an Arby's representative when I noticed their "cheesecake poppers were on the gluten-free list and questioned this. Celiacs always have to be alert! Dear Julie: Your questions registered by way of the Arby's Guest Feedback system were forwarded to me, Charles Papa, Food Safety and Regulatory Affairs Compliance Officer...
  6. Ken, Here is where I shopped: Open Original Shared Link If you are in the area, it's worth stopping in. Julie
  7. I did buy a small bag of banana flour at an international grocery supermarket just off the University of Pennsylvania campus in Philadelphia last year. I made a special trip there to buy Masa Harina flour. I never knew what to do with the banana flour.
  8. During a recent hospital stay I was served "tat's" or "tst's" bread from the gluten-free menu. I have tried to find a website but no luck so far. I'm thinking of contacting the hospital kitchen. This bread was very, very good, better than any I have bought.
  9. Patti, Thank you for your reply. It eases my mind to know it will be safe. I hope it all works out. Julie
  10. I am scheduled for surgery and was told that after the operation I will have something that I can press and pain medication will be released into my system by an iv line. Has anyone ever had this experience and would know what I should be wary of. Thanks so much.
  11. Before Celiac I used to buy the frozen Michelina's fried rice. It was always good for a quick meal and cheap besides. I'll have to take a look again at the Michelina line, thanks. BTW, would the parmesan chicken be safe...it's sounds good but is the coating breadcrumbs?
  12. I'm not sure if this will help regarding an emergency but last year I had a hernia operation and could not eat solid food for ten days before the operation and then 11 days after. I had 2-3 cans of Ensure and a serving of Jello each day. I actually wasn't hungry after the first two days but will say I was glad to eat after all that time. I feel somewhat...
  13. Just wanted to say that Tums are not gluten free.
  14. -----Original Message----- C&E Rosewater - bath & shower gel C&E Rosewater and Glycerine - body lotion Can you tell me if the above products have gluten in the ingredients.
  15. I have tried the rolls and like them very much. They are small but very nice to just pull out of the freezer when you want one or two. I'm not such a great baker so they great for me.
  16. I don't know of a support group in Bucks County. I heard there is one at Holy Redeemer Hospital in Montgomery County. I often wonder if there are many celiacs in the area and wish St. Mary's Hospital would have a support group. How would you go about starting one. Julie
  17. Thank you so much. I live near the Langhorne location.
  18. After living the Celiac life for over two years, I recently had stomach surgery (not connected to Celiac) and have been on a clear liquid diet for the past 15 days. It consists of grape and apple juice, 1-2 milk chocolate Ensures, chicken broth (IMO Kitchen Basics tastes the best), and jello. Strangely, I have not felt hungry at all. Even on Thanksgiving...
  19. Just wanted to let everyone know that I made the arepas and was very pleased with the results. Basically I into 1 cup of flour I mixed in about 3/4 cup of warm water with 1/2 tsp. of salt mixed in. Let it sit for about 10 minutes. Made balls, flatten them, and fried in oil, then baked in oven. They are very crisp on the outside and tasty. Actually...
  20. Just wanted to say that I am not hungry but am always craving my favorites that are no longer allowed. I have been gluten-free for over two years now and make pretty tasty meals and such. But I'm always wishing for a piece of pizza, good crusty bread, or a tortellini dish, etc. and I wind up eating this and that and never feel really satisfied. It doesn...
  21. Ok just to let you all know I went to Sazon and had delicious authentic venzuelian arepas today, one with grilled vegetables and one with a pulled roast beef mixture, and no I didn't eat them both lol. This little restaurant was such a pleasant surprise, spotlessly clean and hostess/server (Judy) was so aware of serving gluten-free food. She even assured...
  22. Mamaw, I'm so glad you posted about arepas. I too am very interested in making them but wanted to try them first but didn't know where. I live in Philly so the Sazon is convenient and can't wait to get there. BTW, after much searching, I found a supermarket located at 43rd & Walnut, just outside the Penn campus. They carry many ethnic items and...
