  1. A couple of years ago I used this recipe and had great cookies. The only thing is is that I have written on my paper I printed out the following flour I thought I used which is 1 1/2 cups of white rice flour and 1 1/2 cups of sorghum to make the 3 cups of flour. Does this seem right? We just tried the recipe and the flour is very crumbly. There is no...
  2. Does Hashimoto's make your neck to look thick?
  3. Do you mind if I ask if they put you on thyroid medicine? There are new levels out there for TSH levels that doctors aren't following, and if my doctor was to go by the new levels I would be considered as having an underactive (Hypo) thyroid. My results came back just over 3 so they aren't too high. This is what I found: This understanding led to...
  4. I had an overactive thyroid from ages 11 to about 14 and my body corrected itself on it's own. Now I have Celiac. Both my girls have thyroid problems, so I hope they don't get dx with Celiac down the road.
  5. I eat their caramel sundaes and do just fine.
  6. It depends...if I just get hit with a little cross contamination then bloating and maybe a little tired. If I was to eat something like a cookie or piece of toast, then I get extremely sick within 45 minutes to an hour. I am shocked at how sick I get from just a cookie or toast and it lasts for a good 4 hours. Throwing up is only during the first hour...

    ARCHIVED Leg Burns

I am scheduling an appt. with a neurologist and will let you know what they say. I am so tired of doctors and hate to go for this since I can still function daily. I just want to make sure whatever it is doesn't get worse or cause more health issues.
  8. I started experiencing a stinging feeling on my left calf, which from the research I have done points to Peripheral Neuropathy. I also have slight numbness on my ankles/top of feet, but only feel it when I apply lotion. Do I need to see a neurologist or can I just try to eat better and take my vitamins? Is there really anything that can be done if I have...
  9. So from what I have read so far, you need to make sure your iron, b12 and folate levels are where they should be. Does anyone know if ther are certain foods or drinks we should avoid if you have this? In the last two months I have experienced a burning feeling on my calf. as if i scrapped my skin or have a sunburn No other symptoms and it goes away within...
  10. Does hairspray contain gluten? If so, are there any gluten free hairsprays out there? I keep devoloping a rash, almost like eczema ( spelling?) around my hairline where I spray, so not sure if it's because of my hairspray which is Garnier Fructis anti humidity spray.
  11. Easy gluten free baking by Elizabeth Barbone. It has the best banana nut bread recipe. My family can't even tell it gluten free. I bake it in a heavy Williams Sonoma bread pan and it makes the outside a little crispy. Soooo good!
  12. Did you have more testing on this? I am currently experiencing a burning pain in my calf area which looks like its linked to Peripheral Neuropathy. I found the article on this site.

    ARCHIVED Leg Burns

Not tingling, but a stinging/burning feeling. As if my skin is sun burned or scraped.
  14. About two months ago my left calf on the side and front was burning as if I had a sunburn or had scraped it. No visual difference, just a burning or stinging feeling if touched or if my clothes would rub against it. After 24 hours it went away. Two months later ( today) its back again. Same exact place and stinging feeling. No changes in appearance of leg...
  15. We use Pamelas. Usually add a little more water then recommended so the pancakes aren't so thick and cook on a hot pan. They taste great!
  16. Elizabeth Barbone Easy Gluten Free Baking has a banana nut bread recipe called Blue Ribbon Banana Bread in her book. You can't even tell it's gluten free. I cook mine in a heavy iron bread pan from Williams Sonoma the ones that have an imprint on the bottom and it make the top crunchy. It's so good. Not sure if we are allowed to post recipes from books on...
  17. Make some chocolate gluten free betty crocker cupcakes with pillsbury funfetti frosting and tell him not to eat them because they aren't gluten free. He will probably take one and see how good they are and then maybe it will help him see this gluten-free way of eating won't be so bad.
  18. I was having a problem with acid reflux after eating an apple with peanut butter. Someone mentioned to get peanut butter without soy. I tried that as so far I have been fine.

    ARCHIVED Atlanta, Ga

Going to Atlanta next month. Anyone have any recommendations on place to eat for gluten free food? We will be in downtown Atlanta staying at the CNN Hotel. Thanks.
  20. So after seeing what everyone else is taking, I guess 200 I.U. isn't enough. Do I have to ask my doc about the 5000 and if I am low why wouldn't he prescribe me those in the first place?
  21. Thanks. You Say Yogurt is a Yogurt Shop. A place to go for dessert after dinner. Trying to figure out if anyone else has been to one.
  22. Just had mine tested too and it is 28, so I am taking Natures Made Calcium with Vit. D and Magnesium 2 x a day.
  23. Is it gluten free and which yogurts have you tried?
  24. Do you need to worry about what's in the products?
  25. Just curious if all of you had bad diarrhea? I have microscopic colitis and my doc wants to put me on Entocort but I don't have D. Also, is it recommended that you have another test done to check your villi after going gluten free?
