Have you had her thyroid checked? My daughter use to get really bad headaches before she was diagnosed with a thyroid problem. -
ARCHIVED Neurological Symptoms?
twe0708 replied to ecitizen's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I have had problems with tingling on the top of my feet but I only feel it when applying lotion. A little tingling in the legs every now and then and in the past year I had what felt like a pinched nerve in my neck and lower back (both a year apart). It felt like someone was stabbing me with a knife if I moved so I has to lay on the couch or stay in bed... -
ARCHIVED Blood Sugar Balancing Act - Any Tips For Preventing Hypoglycemia?
twe0708 replied to josh052980's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Make sure your meals have a good amount of protein. I find if I have too many carbs in my meal and not enough protein, I get shaky. For breakfast I have oatmeal and two eggs. If I just had cereal I would have an issue, so I always make sure there is protein included. When I have enchiladas with chicken and rice for dinner I have problems too because there... -

ARCHIVED Genetics And Celiac Symptoms
twe0708 replied to PersianCeliac's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
This is interesting. I wonder if this is why I get so sick. I don't eat anything containing gluten but when I did before I would get very sick. 4 months after being diagnosed I decided to eat a donut and became very ill. In a way it's good how sick I get because it keeps me from cheating. -

I buy blueberry Smirnoff vodka and mix a shot with lemonade and crushed ice. Makes a great drink for summer! -
If you figure it out, please let me know. I have gained weight too and I never had a problem before. Mine is all in the stomach too and I am having problems with fatigue. Have you had your thyroid checked? I am trying thyroid medication to see if that helps since my thyroid tests were a little off - hypothyroid. Good luck!

ARCHIVED Genetics And Celiac Symptoms
twe0708 replied to PersianCeliac's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Do doctors usually test for this DQ2 gene or do you have to request it? I am really sensitive to gluten. If I eat a cookie I feel like I have the flu within 45 minutes. If I have my girls tested for the DQ2 gene will that mean they will eventually have Celiac Disease too? -
Does anyone have a problem with tonsil stones? I am wondering if it's caused from acid reflux because I do have this problem. I started developing tonsil stones about 4 months ago. Not sure why they are developing all of a sudden.

ARCHIVED Does Anyone Feel My Pain?
twe0708 replied to Ashlynn6's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Maybe order the burger with all the fixings without the bun. I haven't been there since being diagnosed but I go to Five Guys at least every other week and do just fine. : ) -
I can't believe it's an option for you. I had one small bite of what was supposed to be flour less fudge and I was sick in an hour. I can't imagine what would have happened if I ate a regular piece. I remember when I was first diagnosed my doctor telling me I could cheat for special occasions. NOT an option. If you decide to do it, I wouldn't do it on...

ARCHIVED Receding Gums And Vitamins
twe0708 posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Anyone have a problem with taking vitamins and it affecting their gums? I notice when I start taking vitamins my gums get sensitive. Not all over but just on a couple of teeth where my gums are receding. I am not good at taking my vitamins daily and twice now I have noticed after starting up again my gums become sensitive, but once I stop they are fine... -
ARCHIVED Anyone With Adrenal Fatigue And Gluten Intolerance?

Have you tried eating more protein. I am exhausted if I eat mostly carbs. I had a grilled cheese sandwich for dinner and the next day I was wiped out even though I had plenty of protein for breakfast. -

ARCHIVED Cushing's Disease Or Buffalo Hump
twe0708 replied to twe0708's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
OMG...I agree with what you are saying about so many issues! I feel the same way! The only reason I am going to the doctors for this is because I pulled up other images of people who's bumps are half the size of a basketball! Yikes! Good luck with your problem! -
ARCHIVED Cushing's Disease Or Buffalo Hump
twe0708 replied to twe0708's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Did you look at the link I posted? That is exactly what mine looks like. I noticed it about 6 weeks ago. When my husband and I were out about a week ago he noticed it and I never pointed it out to him. He thought it was because I wasn't sitting up straight and that's why it's coming out. Like a hunch back. I will see what the doc says but I'm almost... -

ARCHIVED Hypoglycemia - Go For Protein Or Go For High Glucose?
twe0708 replied to MrsVJW's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I usually reach for something with protein and that makes a big difference. Almonds, pistachios, eggs or turkey works for me. I also make sure I include enough protein in each meal and find that I don't have any problems. If I make pancakes in the morning I also make two eggs. Good luck!
