  1. It's always exciting! keep bragging!
  2. when I used to get it (not having any clue what was causing it) the only think that made it go away was a hydrocortizone shot. Hope you feel better!
  3. Hello! I have no idea if it's related to gluten or not, but I had an eyebrow piercing that got rejected when I was in college. I also can't wear earrings and I'm so sensitive to most metals that I break out into a rash when I wear jeans (just a tiny one on my right hip where they put the little stud) I haven't been wearing jeans lately so I don't know...
  4. Hi Nancy. There is a way to email. you can send me a private message through this forum or email me at positivenrgfairy@gmail.com -Laura
  5. I was hit with an accidental gluten bomb earlier in the week, which was messing with my brain chemistry and hormones, so I was in a particularly bad place when I made this post. I also said that my husband doesn't understand, but just to be clear - he can't understand, bc he is not going through it, but he IS being incredibly supportive. I didn't mean...
  6. I tried sending you a message to say hello but it didn't go though. so just saying whats up!
  7. I think the day they made medical marijuana legal for ceilacs will be the best day of my life.
  8. That describes my feelings perfectly! I am feeling really overwhelmed. Im glad someone out there understands.
  9. Last saturday I took a bite of a cookie that I thought was gluten-free but wasn't. I spit it out immediately and washed my mouth out. I started feeling quasi normal again yesterday, and am hoping to be completely well by tomorrow. the point is, it is different for every individual, and it depends on how much you ate. feel better soon!!
  10. Did anyone else experience severe depression upon realizing what was happening to them? My husband doesn't understand; I feel like I can't eat ANYTHING. I am under so much pressure from my job and going to school full time and i don't have time to cook one meal a day let alone three. i just want a freaking sandwich. I just hate this. please please...
  11. I'm addicted to the pumpkin spice latte, but have accidentally been magically glutened by starbucks too many times, and im starting my withdrawal process tomorrow.
  12. Whoa... I thought you couldn't get sick from inhaling it... so what do you mean handling it was making you sick? I've had my cats for 10 year and they aren't going anywhere.
  13. Hello all. I am very new to this. I had an awful reaction today and can't figure out where it came form. First, my symptoms: heartburn, terrible bloating feeling, severe depression and irritability, anal area pain These are my most common symptoms, but I am also susceptible to a slew of other GI problems and acute skin rash but those haven't shown...
  14. I did not feel guilty or like I was being a burden when I became vegetarian. However, I did talk about it incessantly. ordering and cooking without meat is slightly more cut and dry, in my opinion.
  15. I am feeling guilty today, not because I ate a cheesy biscuit last night, but because I think everyone is exhausted from me talking incessantly about gluten and celiac. its suddenly hard for people to cook for me or order for me when we order take out at work, and I feel like I'm being a burden to everyone. Everyone has been really accommodating so far...
  16. thanks to all who replied. these are very helpful suggestions. I am printing this forum out and husby and I are going to have a chat tonight about what the future holds.
  17. Are all celiacs like this? it seems that I've been finding people have a gluten sensitivity on many various levels. I'm very new to all of this. thank you for your help.
  18. So you have a reaction if you eat ONE cookie?
  19. I have been slowly cutting out gluten for the last several weeks and I cheated last night and I'm feeling pretty crummy today. There's no way one cheesy biscuit could possibly be making me feel so bloated and depressed this soon. ...is there?
  20. We eat fish, nuts and beans. There are things that we can eat together, but they can only go so far. He says tired of eating the same things over and over again. I think he is frustrated with me and with the whole gluten free thing.
  21. My husband and I are having issues with food. We both started out as vegetarians about a year ago and he recently went completely vegan because dairy makes him have intolerable allergies. (seriously; he's been known to eat benedryl like candy - when we discovered cutting dairy out of his diet made the allergies stop, we were amazed!) And now I am putting...
  22. Thank you everyone for your kind words. I feel that ultimately I am making the correct self diagnosis, regardless of the severity of the gluten intolerance. A rose by any other name, right? Although it is difficult to accept, this is my reality now, and the foods I used to go to for comfort (i e pizza and macaroni and cheese) are ultimately only creating...
  23. Hi there. I'm also new to this board and recently wrote a similar post. I just wanted to say that it continues to blow my mind that I've been sick for 30 years and not knowing why. from what I can understand, a lot of people on this board don't have an actual doctor's diagnosis (bc it sounds like a right pain in the ass to get one) BUT they've experienced...
  24. Because it could also be the number of other chemicals I have inadvertently cut from my diet bc gluten is in a ton of processed foods. Because I don't want to believe that I can never eat pizza from papa johns again. and because without knowing how to efficiently test that its gluten causing these problems I might be wasting my time and energy. how can...
  25. OMG you have that too!?!?!? I have been vegetarian off and on and it always resulted in numbness of my hands and feet and extreme exhaustion. After starting to rule out gluten from my diet, I decided I just couldn't take being vegetarian and gluten free, and the numbness went away when I started eating meat again. As for the eggplant parm, I was hoping...
