ARCHIVED Cat Litter & Cat Food
Tigercat17 posted a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone knows of a good cat food and cat litter that are gluten free. I've been gluten free for a month now & I'm still not feeling that much better. So, I was wondering if maybe I should change my cat litter & cat food. I use tidy cat scoopable liter & Friskies. I see the Friskies definitely has wheat gluten... -
ARCHIVED Gluten Withdrawal?
Tigercat17 replied to homemaker's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Yes, I felt very anxious & I had a hard time going to sleep. I've been on the diet for a month now & I still feel anxious at times. And my stomach still hurts. It seems like so many foods bother me. I can't eat everything I want. -
ARCHIVED What Are You Thoughts About This
Tigercat17 replied to twe0708's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hi everyone, I have to say my doc told me pretty much the same thing. He told me after I'm heal I might be ablee to "cheat" once in a while. I know... weird? But my nutritionist (who also has celiac disease) told me not even a crumb! Sounds like a lot of doctors aren't as informed as we would like them to be and really don't know a lot about this disease... -
ARCHIVED Stomach/ Small Intestinal Pain
Tigercat17 replied to SergeTrigger's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Thanks for clarifing that information for the Tums! I do have the Fruit & Berry Fusion flavor. I guess that's why I had a reaction from them. That's good to know the other products don't contain gluten. Thanks again! -

ARCHIVED Stomach/ Small Intestinal Pain
Tigercat17 replied to SergeTrigger's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I'm not sure about the herbal teas. Since I have so many allergies (like tress & grass) I don't want to try them. Also, I was thinking about digestive supplements two weeks ago. I asked my nurtruitist (who also has celiac disease) about digestive supplements & he told me to stay away from them. They could make your symptoms worse. Maybe just... -
ARCHIVED Stomach/ Small Intestinal Pain
Tigercat17 replied to SergeTrigger's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hi, I'm pretty new to this also. And I made the mistake of taking Tums. They're not gluten free so don't try them. I've been on the diet for about two weeks now & I'm slowly feeling better. Two weeks ago, I was having a very full feeling to my stomach & after just two bits of food I felt like I couldn't eat anymore. it was pretty scary since... -

Thanks for tips everyone! I've been on the diet for about 10 days now & the acid reflux is just about gone. My throat , chest & stomach are still sore though. But at least I don't have that constant burning in my throat! It was so painful! I lost my voice the whole month of July. I'm sure it will take some time for my body. I just have to be gentle...

ARCHIVED Synthyroid?
Tigercat17 replied to Tigercat17's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
HI Meagan, I just called Abbott, too. They pretty much told me the same thing. The said the ingredients don't contain gluten, but they have no way of testing the synthyiod the find out & that's why they can't guarantee that it doesn't have gluten in it. So, I guess for right now, I'll take it, since the generic brand is so inconsistent. And... -

ARCHIVED Synthyroid?
Tigercat17 replied to Tigercat17's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Thanks Gemini, I will call the company. You are so right. I'm so new to all of this but what you said makes a lot of sense. When I get a response from them, I'll let everyone know. It's really crazy that a company that makes the synthyroid would have gluten in there medicine when thyriod disease & celiac are so closely connected. Wish... -

ARCHIVED Synthyroid?
Tigercat17 replied to Tigercat17's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Thanks so much for sharing. Sorry to hear about your thyriod cancer. I just had it last year & I really think dealing with the celiac disease feels much worse. At least, for me they were able to remove all of the cancer & I did the radition, too. But the celiac disease, I'll have to deal with it forever. Feeling pretty bummed out.... I'm just so... -
Thanks for the tips! I got a few dumb questions though - What do you mean by AI? Going anti- Inflammatory & what are the nightshade vegies? I've been having serious reflux that goes up to my throat, too. AndI'm so skinny & tring to eat five times a day. I just started this diet 8 days ago. And I feel so weak. Any more advice would be great. Thanks...

ARCHIVED Synthyroid?
Tigercat17 replied to Tigercat17's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Thanks for your advice. I was on the Levoxyl before I had my thyriodectomy, but they told me that they thought it was neccesary for me to change to the Synthyriod. The docs told me the generic (Levoxyl) might make my TSH levels move up & down. I guess they believe the Synthyriod is more accurate? Go figure? I'm not sure if that's right or not. What do... -
Well, I do have celiac disease. Thanks for all your advice & tips. I did try the apple cidar vineager. But I think it made the pain on my left side (under my ribcage) hurt more, so I stopped using it. I think it did help with the digestion though. But I thought it might not be good for me to use right now since my stomach & intestines need to heal...

ARCHIVED Synthyroid?
Tigercat17 posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Hi all, Does anyone know if Synthryoid is gluten free? I called my endo doctor today & ask him if I should change to the generice brand. They recommended that I stay with the synthyriod unless I'm not feeling well with the gluten free diet. I don't have a thyriod at all & I just had thyriod cancer last year so changing to another medicine doesn... -
Hi, I'm new to all of this. I just found out I have celiac disease last week & I've been trying to eat gluten free for a week now. How long does it usually take to feel better? Has anyone had a full feeling to their stomach? It's like I'm hungry, but I can't put anything into my stomach. I'm very skiny & weak. My stomach is very tender, too...

Hi all, I was just diagnoisied with celiac disease last week & I've been on the gluten free diet for a week now. I've been trying to find a good unscented, gluten free lotion. I'm very senstive to fragrances & even some unscented lotions bother me. Any sugestions? Thanks for the help!
