  1. Thank you!! I will try the black sweetened tea.
  2. Thanks for your suggestions!! I will have to try the Junior Mints thing as they are delicious!! I have never heard of K2, but I will look into that as well. Hopefully I can find something!! I have a very bloated tummy tonight
  3. I have been gluten free for a year and a half, and recently started getting really bad hip pain. Only in my right hip and the pain shoots down through my butt and down my leg. (Much like sciatica I guess) It came out of nowhere and sometimes I have to stop walking it hurts so bad. Don't know if it's associated with celiacs and what not, but you are not alone...
  4. I have known of my Celiacs since November 2009...and I swear the glutenings feel worse every time it happens (luckily they are few and far between). When I get glutened I am up for trying anything! Today I got CC'ed and it was one of those bad, bad days So I was researching like crazy other ways to help this pain. I have tried ginger tea, but didn't really...
  5. Maybe people know this already, but thought I would share in case you don't!! Friday's has a allergen menu, and right on the BACK of the menu, there's a gluten allergen list. Though, not an extensive list, there's plenty to choose from!! I had the Shrimp and Salmon and it was great!! The staff was knowledgeable and very friendly about it. Another place to...
  6. Mine went away...until I have my period or get glutened.
  7. Hey! My mom bought me a Cuisinart bread maker last Christmas...and it does have a gluten free option which I have used every time. I love it
  8. I was diagnosed with Celiac's November 2009...so it has almost been a year to the day that I started eating gluten free. The first few months were rough, but I have learned so much along the way and think I have a pretty good grip on what to eat and what to avoid. So my question starts with this....pre-diagnosis I had mucus in my stool which I was told was...
  9. I have written to them a couple times...and the fact the girl I met WORKS there and they use her for testing is great!! I haven't tried the cheesy hashbrowns yet....but I am sure they are good. I will have to buy the beef fried rice. So exciting when there are new, nicely labeled items for us!
  10. I, too, am hungry quite often. I am 5ft 11 and was about 170lbs before....150-155 after finding out....now back up to 160-165. At first I thought I was getting hungry because I was craving glutenous foods...and maybe that's still the case? I am eating and not satisfying my cravings. I have been on a gluten-free diet almost a year, and I know exactly how you...
  11. A ton of liquids, and I drink Ginger Tea when I get glutened...seems to calm my bowels a bit
  12. I am pretty sensitive to gluten...but maybe not as bad as I think I am compared to others? I can tell you, I ate those Nut Thins like crazy in the beginning, and have never had a problem with them. When I went back to the doctor for a blood check 6 months into my gluten-free diet, there were hardly any traces of the anti body our bodies produce when gluten...
  13. So, I was at a Mark Kay thing for a friend over the weekend, and one of the consultants had Celiacs. She works for General Mills and mentioned that they used her for testing the NEW gluten free Hamburger Helper products!! So, I went to store today and found Gluten Free Hamburger Helper Cheesy Hashbrowns and Beef Fried Rice. The celiac girl from the weekend...
  14. My dog eats "Natural Balance Limited Ingredients Diet"...it's gluten free and I didn't even know it, until I researched it after getting diagnosed. It's about $40 a bag for the biggest bag, thought I would share!! Their website is not working...but if you just google "Natural Balance Dog Food" something should come up about it
  15. I have been on the diet for almost 11 months...I am hoping it goes away! I know it's stupid..and I constantly tell myself that but sometimes my mind just gets away from me...Thanks for the replies!! I will just keep telling myself I won't puke in public and since I never have...probably never will!! I will look into the prenatal vits too..thanks!!
  16. Hey! I have been gluten free for 10 months, so I thought I would let you know what is happening to me!! Pretty similar. I have felt "glutened" quite a few times since starting this whole new life style. I try to be so careful...but somehow it seems to happen occasionally. I have been told to get tested, or do the elimination diet for other intolerances/allergies...
  17. Sorry this is long...but I have Celiacs...I have heard it can cause anxiety, but eventually goes away after being on a gluten-free diet? I have had a stupid fear of throwing up in public for at least ten years...I actually never have thrown up in public...I am not afraid to throw up...just worried about doing it in public, when bathrooms or exits aren't close...
  18. I just have to add..I have eaten at PF Changs here in Minnesota 3 times since going gluten free. The first time I did not order the lettuce wraps GLUTEN FREE...there is a gluten free version of them and the normal version...I asked when they brought it out and they immediately moved the plate to the other side of the table and said no! I will go get you some...
  19. I grew up in Albuquerque but was not yet a known Celiac...so now I am going back for a wedding and need to know where I can eat! I found a post from 2007...but I am hoping to get updates for now! I am going in October...anyone from there who knows the safe places to eat?? I appreciate it! Thanks!
  20. Haha, I suppose you are all right! I was soooo sick for years and finally had an answer...it seemed stupid to continue eating something that was "poisoning" my body...so that's why I was so quick to just do it! I always enjoyed food while I was eating it, but absolutely couldn't live with the outcome every day. I forget just how miserable I was I suppose...
  21. So, I usually try to stay positive on here...especially with new people since I know how hard this is to deal with. But, I have to vent and maybe this looming cloud over my head will go away. I never ate a last gluten meal. My last thing I ate was at a pot luck at work, frozen Simeks meatballs cooked in a crockpot....really!? I never thought, hm, I will never...
  22. My best friend is getting married in less then a month...for one I have to travel from Minnesota...my safe zone, to New Mexico where I grew up, but know nothing of gluten free friendly places! And, I told her just not to worry about me for food and I would fend for myself before/after the wedding stuff. She replied by telling me that was ridiculous and asked...
  23. I am the only one in my family with Celiacs...I made my little sister get tested when I found out I had it. She does not have it (thank goodness ). But my mom has Addison's Disease...so apparently we just have auto immune diseases...just not the same one's.
  24. My cousin who is a registered dietitian specializing in Celiacs (how lucky is that for me?), gave me this website...it doesn't list EVERY med out there I am sure...but Rexall isn't on there. Open Original Shared Link
  25. Hey! When I first found out I had Celiacs, I bought those big cookie looking crusts and had no problem with them. They weren't very crispy, which is the way I like it, but it was "pizza"! I put it in the oven first for a few minutes...then take it out, put all the toppings I like on there, and put it back in for about 3-4 minutes longer then it says...just...
