  1. You are smart! I should've just stuck with a gluten free beer, never been much a beer person though. I miss being able to order a margarita anywhere . I loved beer and clamato, which is out too. Oh well, could be worse! I was really impressed with PF Changs gluten free menu though, well and Waldos too!
  2. Wow, this is very interesting. I need to read it again sans kiddos running around. I have had reccurent yeast problems. I had thrush really bad each time we would start nursing. My second son, who has celiac, we has VERY resistant yeast. It took us FOREVER to get over it, months. When I was pregnant with my 3rd child I got reccurent vaginal yeast...
  3. Has anyone had any experience with them?? Good or bad??
  4. Overall it went really well! We packed a lot of snacks to eat the wof and oof, ate a big breakfast, so that worked out really well. We hit Waldos Pizza, which was excellent!! I am thinking I got a margarita there, it was a mix and she showed it to me, and I didn't see anything. After we got back I realized it wasn't on the safe list and my husband...
  5. My birthday is Sunday and my husband wants to make a cake for us, that my family will eat also. I've made a decent cake with a Bob Mills Mix, kind of just okay though. I have a Betty Crocker yellow cake mix. My dh wants to make something really yummy though, maybe from scratch?? My friend says her mom makes a really good german choc. cake. Any recipes...
  6. I am trying to pin point something that is still bothering me. I am really thinking it might be the soda I drink. I LOVED my pop/soda let me tell you, but I've really cut back to almost none. I am kind of trying it and seeing how I feel, but we just got back from vacation, so I am waiting for my, "system" to clear.
  7. So would you say test my children that aren't showing many symptoms?? My almost 5 year old has always had, "poop issues". He use to struggle with constipation, but now it's weird I have to force him to poop or he won't. He fights it, but then usually does go. My daughter is only 11 months old, I am just going pretty light on the gluten with her, mainly...
  8. I know before I was diagnosed I was having some elevated liver enzymes. I really think it could be related, I was kind of baffled when I was getting these results.
  9. You could always use enterolab to check for a dairy intolerance. I am sure you don't want to, but just a thought.
  10. Oh and if you are craving a donut, Kinnickinnik (sp?) makes a REALLY good donut that is gluten and dairy free! A few flavors actually. I don't crave it too much, but when I do it hits the spot. You keep them frozen, so they last a long time.
  11. I am sorry you are having a rough week. It really is a rollercoaster until you get it figured out, heck I am 3 and some months gluten free and still have bad weeks/days. Overall though i feel much better and that is what I try to focus on. I have had hypoglycemia problems too. You really shouldn't eat something SUPER sugary like cake, donut, etc because...
  12. I just always thought ice cream was all gluten free. Someone I met with Celiac was telling me which ice cream was okay, so apparently not?? What about soft serve ice cream at restraunts?? She told me Blue Bunny is safe, of course with nothing like cake, brownies, etc mixed in.
  13. Have you ever thought of testing her with Enterolabs?? They check the levels in her stool. I would definitely reccomend it, we did it with our 2 1/2 year old. Testing for Celiac in children can be very tough to get positive results, more so then adults for sure.
  14. Any advice?? I am not sure what the best way to explain the situation is?? We are going to try to hit gluten free friendly restraunts, but with 3 young kiddos you never know. Just give me your best advice when eating out. I am pretty nervous about it, don't want to be sick the whole trip .
  15. I am thinking of possibly doing a modified elimination diet?? I've been gluten-free a little over 3 months and feel TONS better. I still have some mild nausea, that's more just annoying then bothersome. I'd kind of like to maybe pin point what is making me nauesous?? I don't know, I'd really like to be 100% nausea free, was REALLY bad before I went...
  16. Is Gatorade safe? Also when you see modified food startch and it doesn't list a source is that automatically a no no??
  17. I am starting to think my 2 1/2 year old might have a yeast overgrowth problem?? He was having D 5-7 times a day, which has got much better, but his stools are still pretty loose most of the time. However, it's just a 1-2 times a day. He also gets yeast diaper rashes a lot. Anything I can do for this?? Could this be why his D is hanging on??
  18. My GI doctor thinks I might have a touch of this. However there really is no treatment for it. They use Reglan which I reacted badly too before, so he said it wouldn't really give us much to do. I a hoping as my stomach heals this will get better as well, if it is a problem.
  19. Yes, I get it too when glutened.
  20. Interesting, I had not read much about the 7, a little on the 6 though. Okay it makes sense to me now, at least much more . I am not sure whether or not to get my other two kiddos tested, or even my husband?? Fussy baby, but thanks for your response!!
  21. I was just wondering about this as I am MUCH better, but seem to have a good week and then 2 bad weeks...and so on. I was reading somewhere else about this, with the stroke I obviously had the neurological problems. I did have some GI also, but that could be or may not be Celiac, GI said it didn't really matter. I also get nausea, which not sure...
  22. Hmm, all this gene stuff is confusing! Maybe someday I will understand....
  23. Do anyone know if these are gluten free?? I am finding mixed answers online.
  24. Really, interesting. So if my kiddos will have a gluten sensitive gene it will be either 6 or 7?? You think it's a good idea to test or only if issues come up??
  25. My son and I both had our genes tested through enterolab, my doctor ended up checking mine too. If I have 2,6 and my son has 2,7, where did he get the "7" ? Does this mean my husband carries it?? would it be a good idea to get my other two children checked, one is almost 5 and one is 10 months. My 2 year old is the one who was having major GI issues...
