  1. I have definitely found the reaction gets worse with time. When I get glutinated now, the symptoms can be much more severe and last longer. Bummer! Though I haven't had a problem with pop machines, so maybe look for another source? Or if you are worried, consider wiping the can with alcohol (or hand sanitizer if you have it) and rinsing before having...
  2. It is nice to hear, as much as they may not get it a lot of the time, how supportive some families can be. My mom bought a shopping guide and when I go over for dinner she'll buy all gluten-free stuff, watch for cross contamination, and usually even gets a cake mix for dessert and some gluten-free goodioes to send me home with. It really makes me feel OK...
  3. Everything looked very promising at the outset of this Easter. My mother had gone out of her way to get me gluten-free eggs (even though I am far too old for an egg hunt), and although I forgot the meal I had prepared to take to a family dinner the host had done a separate chicken for me with steamed veggies, and also didn't put flour in the scalloped potatoes...
  4. The glutino personal pizzas are pretty good. Top with your own meat and veggies and makes a great lunch or dinner for a single gal like me. They are a good size for 1 meal and as for me I am not willing to share, haha.
  5. Thanks for all your information. As for terminology, I just find that "glutenated" rolls off the tongue well. I mean, its an awful experience for us so mind as well have fun at least naming the bad experience.
  6. I am wondering what your symptoms are when you get glutenated and how long they last. I ate salad dressing accidentally and actually went #2 in my pants the next day. After cross contamination I usually have bloating, lower back pain, head aches, and increased bathroom trips for almost a week. Are these symptoms common? My symptoms of being glutenated...
  7. I am about 2 months into a gluten-free diet and was mourning the loss of easy and satisfying baked goods. I have found Kinnikinnick cinnamon and sugar donuts as well as Glutenfreeda's chocolate chip cookies. These products are AMAZING. I honestly thought I wouldn't be able to enjoy fresh desserts again, but either a fresh out of the oven cookie or warm...
  8. Glutenfreedas Real Cookies are my favorite. The cookie dough comes in a tube with pre-formed cookie pucks. It is so easy to pop a couple in the oven for warm, fresh baked cookies. I had a guy over for a first date and served the cookies with ice cream for dessert...he doesn't know I have celiac and definitely had no clue there was not gluten in the cookies...
  9. I has been about 8 weeks since I was diagnosed with celiac and went gluten-free. I have been very diligent so far, and symptoms are getting better by leaps and bounds. I have, however, been glutenated a 2 or 3 times and would like to know if what I have experienced is indeed a reaction to the gluten, and what your experiences have been. About 2 weeks after...
  10. Hello, I have been having some gastrointestinal symptoms for a while now and my doctor finally ran a blood test for celiac. My initial symptoms were bloating (looked pregnant), gas, very frequent trips to the washroom, food cravings, and fatigue. As I understand it my immunoglobin levels were very high, even for celiacs (my levels were 52 and normal is...
