  1. I agree..who actually needs the diagnoses if you yourself know that gluten is the enemy! The tax break would be very nice to have..and I will still save my reciepts just incase anything changes, but for now all I can say is..."No more bellyachin!"
  2. I was also diagnosed with a small intestinal bacterial overgrowth about a year and a half ago.Ive been on different meds for it..and nothing seemed to help.I realized on my own that certain foods would aggravate it(bloating, gas constantly,diahrea,ect)..those would be bread, noodles, ect.I told my doctor about it and he said that the bacteria feed off the carbs...
  3. Thats interesting....please let us know if it helps!
  4. Thanks!I might just do that. Can I get the test from the doctor,or do I have to order it myself?I do remember him giving me some sort of test to take samples last year...but he never explained what it was for..(???)I just asumed it was to test for blood in the stool or something.I wasnt charged for them(maybe my insurance covered them). Are they expensive?And...
  5. Thankyou so much for your help...I wonder why he didnt do the test you mentioned??That really irritates me that he didnt do all that he should do,and being they arent very educated on celiac,I think its time to find another doctor.I don't know if I can eat gluten for three months knowing it might come out negative again.I think I will just stay gluten free...
  6. I just got my results today..can anyone tell me what they mean? This is what they say.. Tissue Transglutaminase IgG Ab tTG-IgG Ab <3 <7 U/mL Reference range <7 U/ml negative 7-10 U/mL Equivocal >10 U/mL Positive Tissue Transglutaminase IgA Ab tTG IgA Ab <3 <5 U/mL Reference...

  8. Can anyone tell me if Jelly Beans are gluten free?I absolutely love them and I don't want to eat them if there is gluten in them.Three weeks gluten free...))
  9. As I havent been diagnosed with celiac(still waiting the results)I am without a doubt that I am gluten sensitive. My symptoms are bloating, gas and loose stools, and stomach noises that totally embarrass me because they are sooooo loud!Ive been having these symptoms for 5 or more years, along with a lactose intolerance.I get so bloated that I look pregnant!I...
  10. I'm also waiting for my results...after being gluten free for about a week and a half..I had my blood test done and have a feeling that its going to be negative...but I feel better without gluten so who cares what the results are...I know what my body is telling me,and that is that gluten doesnt agree with me,so why eat it?
  11. I am wondering the same thing.I also feel I am gluten sensitive and not celiac..I had a negative blood test once, and am waiting for the results of the next one.I dont really care what the results are anymore..Ive been gluten free for two weeks and feel fabulous!!!
  12. Thankyou!!!Im not sure if I will do the test or not...Im starting to realize that it doesnt really matter what a test says, but how I feel when I dont eat gluten..so Im just going gluten free and feeling better.
  13. I'll be getting my results next week, and I have a feeling they will come back negative. My doctor said it doesnt matter if I ate gluten or not before the test.I dont know if I have celiac but I am sure that I am atleast sensitive to gluten, therefore I am going gluten free..I feel so much better without it.If your body feels better on a gluten-free diet,who...
  14. Thankyou all for your advise...I am trying so hard to stick with this.I have been almost gluten free for two weeks now...but am making little mistakes with seasonings and such.I have alot to learn!Does anyone know if pizza sauce is gluten free?I wanted to make a pizza tonight, but wasnt sure.
  15. How long were you gluten free before feeling better?were you totally gluten free,or just most of the time?I am not totally..but 95 percent of the time..and feel better until I goof up and eat it.Its so hard to do this diet..I just started almost two weeks ago.You sound exactly the same as me!!!I have gas almost immediately after eating gluten, along with the...
  16. Im going absolutely nuts trying to figure out what to think of my condition.I have been battling this problem of terrible gas and bloating, and even diahrea after eating for probably 5 years now.I noticed that it was always worse after eating gluten.I went to a gasto a year and a half ago...he did a hydrogen breath test and said its bacterial overgrowth.He...
  17. Can anyone tell me how to get an Enterolab test done?Is it something you do at home,or is it something a doctor does?I had my celiac test done thismorning, but I am pretty sure that its not celiac, but a sensitivity to gluten.Im starting to wonder what exactly is the difference between the two, because even if you have a sensitivity to it..you are doomed if...
  18. Thanks!Lets hope that we can soon get our digestive track back on the right track...Im so tired of feeling this way.Trying to decide if I should have my blood drawn tommorow for the test for celiac...Ive been trying to aviod gluten for a week and a half(not totally off it yet)..I hope they can get an accurate reading if I go tommorow.
  19. LOL...thats too funny!I know exactly what you are saying, though!By the way....Im from Pottsville,Pa..high neighbor!
  20. I also have started this diet..its definately a learning process!A good book to get is "The gluten-free diet"by Elizabeth Hasselback..its helping me alot. She gives you alot of information.A good rule to go by..the closest a food is to its purest form, the more likely it is to be gluten-free.
  21. I feel for you....really...I do!I have the exact same problem!I havent been diagnosed as a celiac..but I definately have gluten sensitivity. The doctor is sending me for more bloodwork to test for celiac again.Anyway,my main problem is bloating and gas..and my insides grumble around and make nioses like I am passing gas..when Im not.I worked at a small office...
  22. I am also trying the gluten free diet..actually started it last week in hopes that it will help with my muscle and jiont pain...along with my gastro problems.I havent noticed a difference in the muscle and jiont pain yet,but Im sticking to it anyway. My doctor is sending me for bloodwork for celiac, and I was told I dont have to eat gluten for it to be accurate...
  23. No more bellyachin!!

  24. Thankyou for that info.,my doctor ordered more bloodwork to test for celiac..Im not sure what its called though. He also said that its okay that I have been gluten free this week..that wont affect the reading.I always hear that you should eat normal(with gluten)so it doesnt give a false reading.Any idea??
