I'm curious too. I've been looking into it myself. I've found a website that you can purchase from that sends them the Doctor's order and you get the results, so you don't have to go through a Doctor at all. I don't know if it's more expensive that way or what, but it's really not as expensive as I thought it would be... Am I allowed to post links, anyone...

That's what I did. I moved out. The kitchen here isn't completely gluten free, but I do have a LOT more control over it and the pots are all stainless steel. I'll only been here for a few days, but I haven't been glutened yet! I have been sick, but that's due to a different intolerance that I'm unaware of as of right now. If moving out is a feasible option...

I've had the mozzarella. It's quite good, though a bit on the salty side. Maybe it's just me because I haven't really read anywhere about it being salty, but to me it most definitely is. That's not to say it isn't good, however. It's very tasty and it's very stringy. It makes excellent grilled cheese! I just can't use it for nachos because the salt on...

ARCHIVED Some Questions About Food Intolerances.
Lycopene replied to Lycopene's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
The brand of "Mac and Chreese" that I eat is Road's End Organics. I can definitely see that I need to do some form of elimination diet, including removing rice, but then what would I eat? Some meats. Salads? What do you guys do when you do this? Especially when your budget is limited. (It won't be for TOO long, but it is right now, and right now I'm having... -
ARCHIVED Some Questions About Food Intolerances.
Lycopene posted a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Alrighty. I've taken gluten, dairy, casein, and soy out of my diet, yet I still feel bloated and gassy, which is terribly inconvenient seeing as I just moved to Georgia (I'm here now!) and live with my friend... sort of embarrassing being gassy. I honestly couldn't tell you what the problem is. I don't think it could be anything else and I don't really eat... -
ARCHIVED Anyone Unemployed Or Divorced Because Of Celiac?
Lycopene replied to mrmachinist's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Thank you, nogluten4me. (: Still having a little bit of a rough time, but I'll be fine. I'm sure of it. In reply to the first three responses though... definitely. Wouldn't touch that with a ten foot pole. Frustrating, but I'll be able to find the right one, I'm sure. (: -
ARCHIVED Question About Dating With Celiac Disease.
Lycopene replied to Lycopene's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
That's true, for sure. Still, it's a bit of a pain. Really curious how other people have actually dealt with it themselves though. Haha. [: Also, I prefer it when girls don't use too much makeup. Dunno, I like them without it more. A little it's bad, don't get me wrong. I don't hate it or anything. It just doesn't bother me when they don't. [: ... -
ARCHIVED Question About Dating With Celiac Disease.
Lycopene replied to Lycopene's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
You are very welcome. Haha. Definitely something interesting, eh? No idea what I'd go about doing. I'm very sensitive too, so a kiss can and will gluten me. Talk about a predicament. -
The WORD wheat scares me. There's no way I'd ever eat anything like that no matter what assurances I had stating that it was safe. If it's made from wheat, I'm not eating it. No thank you. I hate feeling sick, and I get bloated and gassy for WEEKS if I get glutened. So annoying.

ARCHIVED Question About Dating With Celiac Disease.
Lycopene posted a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Alright so. In my previous relationship, if I ever kissed my fiancee after she had been eating before she brushed her teeth, I would get glutened. Horribly inconvenient. But she already knew about and I didn't have to tell her. So, what I'm asking is, what do you guys and gals do about this? I'm pretty sure nobody is going to understand if you stop them... -
ARCHIVED Anyone Unemployed Or Divorced Because Of Celiac?
Lycopene replied to mrmachinist's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I honestly have to agree with you, ianm. While I'm still upset about it and think about her a lot, I'm now beginning to realize how cruel of a person she was. With all of her lying and her tricks, it just wasn't worth it. It's true when they say "blinded by love." As much as I hate to admit to that. In the long run, I'm definitely happy she left me. I... -
ARCHIVED Anyone Unemployed Or Divorced Because Of Celiac?
Lycopene replied to mrmachinist's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
My fiancee left me because of all this. 2.5 years together and she left me because I was sick. It's just so beyond me. I can't even imagine that someone is so uncaring and would do that. Ahhh. That was just over 7 weeks ago, so I'm still thinking about her daily and that's not helping. I wish I could just get over her like that, but I can't. Haha. At least... -

ARCHIVED Hi From Atlanta!
Lycopene replied to Allisoprano's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I'm moving to Georgia too. Marietta! [: Right outside of Atlanta. I've been looking into it and there's supposedly a pretty nice gluten free bakery there. I can't remember the link so I'll have to look it up later, but yeah. They have gluten-free pizzas that you can take home and bake, breads and more. Seems pretty interesting! Andddd. I know how you... -
I just sent my email as well. Ahhh. "Just one bite won't hurt you!" Hah. Hope they rectify it. If not going on her show and explaining where she was incorrect, removing that comment about farro off the site.

ARCHIVED Udi's Bread
Lycopene replied to DMarie's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Oh no! You can't have peanut butter!? I think I'd die. I still haven't had a PB&J sandwich yet because the PB & J that we have is all gluten contaminated. But I will be going out to get some very soon. I've already gone through an entire loaf. It's SO good. Mozzarella Daiya is pretty salty, but it tastes SO good on a grilled cheese with this bread... -
ARCHIVED Gluten Free/dairy Free Sour Cream?
Lycopene replied to Lycopene's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I'm pretty new to it, yeah. I've been diagnosed for a year, but up until about 7 weeks ago I would be on the diet for a while and then I'd cheat. Not going to do that anymore though. Stupid, stupid idea. @nicolebeth I'll have to look into those cashews. Hmmm. That sounds interesting. Thank you! -
ARCHIVED Udi's Bread
Lycopene replied to DMarie's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Oh... my... GOD! IT TASTES EXACTLY LIKE FRENCH BREAD! SAME TEXTURE. IT IS SOOOO GOOD. @_@ I still have to try the whole grain. But I AM SO HAPPY. I just picked some up today and made two grilled cheese sandwiches with Daiya. Seriously. After trying Daiya and Udi's bread, I seriously don't even give a crap about this whole celiac thing. Who cares if you... -
ARCHIVED Gluten Free/dairy Free Sour Cream?
Lycopene replied to Lycopene's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Update: Daiya is amazing. Little salty, but amazing. Also. About the Follow Your Heart sour cream... is there another soy-free alternative? Probably not, but I can always hope. =/ -
ARCHIVED Daiya Cheese!
Lycopene replied to Mac55's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Ok so I just bought some. Made nachos. It's REALLY salty. Smells fantastic, but you can't use salty chips if you're making nachos. It just overpowers you. That said though, the stuff is fantastic. Smells greatttt and I love it. <3 YAYYYY. -
I'm not 100% sure but I THINK it is.

ARCHIVED No Symptoms After Glutening
Lycopene replied to Shannonlass's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
That's pretty darn lucky. Honestly, I'm jealous. Lol. But keep paying attention. [; You'll figure it out. Oh, and everyone is different. [: Their bodies react differently. I throw up just 10 minutes after being glutened and I'm weak for 1~3 weeks afterward. Others are done within days or even hours. It all depends on the person. -
ARCHIVED I'm So Careful. But All This... Bah.

I usually am too! I've just been so out of it from my previous glutenings that I just let it happen again. Ugh. -
