  1. I got them at a local market that caters to allergies. Here is the link: Open Original Shared Link
  2. These are awesome! Taste just like the dumplings I used to get in the Chinese Restaurants. There are 8 in the bos and it comes complete with Tamari sauce - all gluten free of course! If you like Chinese food, you have got to try these!!!
  3. I ended up buying the hat this time. Seems better cause I can workout or fix breakfast while getting light therapy. Have your had your stomach issues checked out by a doctor? Maybe you need some antibiotics? There must be something going on that needs attention? I wish you the best at finding a solution. Pain will definately add to the insomnia.
  4. I'm glad your sleep is getting better. It is very rough not getting much needed rest. Do you take meds for pain? Can something be done to relieve your pain? Oh, thanks. It didn't occur to me to taper like that. I will definately try it that way when I'm ready! Have you ever tried light therapy? I tried it and it did work for me. The light...
  5. Your probably right IrishHeart. It's all about making a buck (or several)! I waited years to take something though and nothing 'natural' was working either. My iron is low right now so that could be part of the cause. What symptoms did you have? How can you taper AmbienCR when it's time released and your not supposed to cut it?
  6. Thank you! I did have a little spurt of energy yesterday and felt good for a couple hours today! I'm wiped out now, but its a start! Trying to get that much needed housework done...ick.
  7. No they didn't offer to taper it, they just basically told me if I have trouble sleeping to keep taking it. Yes I did have to stop taking it suddenly because of an insurance company screw up. They switched me to a generic which I found out later is not gluten free. Since I use a mail order pharmacy it took about 2 weeks to get the correct script. I also...
  8. Had a sleep study two weeks ago. Just got off the phone with the doctor's office and they said it was normal. Have been taking Ambien CR for 6 months. If I go without it I toss and turn and only sleep about 3 hours a night. So I asked what can we do now to see why I can't sleep? They said the only thing you can do is take sleeping meds!!!!! Honestly...

    ARCHIVED A Little Worried...

LOL Helpme - post race bagels! I'd go for the beer right about now! Have you ever had your iron or vitamin levels checked? Low iron can really wipe you out. It's not part of the CBC, they are separate tests your doctor has to order. Just found out I have that problem again. I also have diverticulitus! But I'm doing my races if I have to go at a...
  10. Oh geeze chill! What a day! I have diverticulitis and am still working on getting gluten free flagyl. I did find the cipro though. Getting meds is certainly a chore in and of itself Next time I will get each one listed on a different perscription paper so I can pick and choose which pharmacy will fill each one! Ugh! My iron is very low: Total...
  11. Yikes - that's not good! What a hard way to find out what you shouldn't have! Maybe I will have to try lamb, it sounds pretty good. I had to modify the diet a bit so I could actually make this work. I decided to keep soy and almonds in for now so I can get the protein I need. Then in several weeks I will see how I feel, test eggs and then other...

    ARCHIVED A Little Worried...

Your giving me such hope! I really want to be able to keep up my training and love it so far. I am not fast either and I'm only 5' 1 1/2" tall so I can't keep up with some of those lean, tall athletes. I'm just happy to be seeing improvement in myself and I joined a wonderful women's group that is so active and supportive. I know so many Celiacs...
  13. Oh no! Can I ask what type of reaction you had? That is very scary since you were eating them prior. Is it normal to have an extreme reaction since you removed something entirely for a while? I have read that a lot of people are allergic to eggs and don't even know it. That is thinking outside the box! I've never had lamb..what does it compare to?

    ARCHIVED A Little Worried...

Thx Tictax! I admire you for being able to do full and half marathons - way to go! I'm curious - did you train for them before you were dx'd? How long have you done them? I had always done some form of exercise, but this is pushing my body past what I have ever done. The longest I ran so far was the 8k. I did run 4 miles last week trying to build up to...
  15. Good for you! You must feel better too knowing what foods are bothering you. I did notice when I take out dairy or caffeine I will lost a couple pounds in a few days and it I add one or both back in, the weight will come back one within 24 hours. So I guess some of my experimenting has been telling me something! I'm just a bit worried about taking...
  16. Hello, I started training for a sprint triathlon last year after 3 years being dx'd celiac. I knew I had an issue with dairy and caffiene, but never totally eliminated them. In the last 2 weeks I am having a lot more stomach pain, gas and bloating. I'm currently going through a lot of tests and am getting rescoped. Am starting an elimination diet tomorrow...
  17. Thank you chill! Think I will try the one you suggest. Looked at a total elimination diet and I don't know if I could honestly do that one! I am still bloated and have a stuffy nose all the time. Also just read difficulty losing weight could be a symptom of food allergies.
  18. Thanks Wolicki, I have been fighting it and it finally got the best of me. I've been through so many blood tests and ultrasounds the past week. So far the only thing "off" in my blood test is a higher than normal DHEAs. I had an ultrasound a few years back and did have some ovarian cysts which could be the reason, but am getting a lower abdominal scan soon...
  19. Oh Lisa - so glad you like it! Thanks friend!

    ARCHIVED Doctors In South Jersey?

Anyone have any luck with any doctors in this area familiar with treating Celiac?
  21. Hi everyone, Haven't posted in a while, but started having some pretty severe stomach pain and bloating which led me to the doctor yesterday. She referred me to a different gastro because the other one was clueless and I didn't want to go back! She also wanted me to go on the BRAT (the t being gluten free) diet until he sees me...this monday. How did...
  22. Hi, I just wanted to let you know I got the lab work back and my thyroid is ok now. I didn't ask her what the numbers were, but I did completely stop caffeine and dairy and feel so much better! I'm trying to get lots of rest and I've made some huge gains in my training. I strongly believe I am allergic to caffeine. : ) Joni
  23. Thank you both for your replies. I feel a little bit better the last 2 days. I'm trying the blood type diet and seeing if that will help. I realize it's not the worst thing to take meds if it makes me feel so much better. I will do what I have to!
  24. Hi, I used to post on this site regularly and all of your support was wonderful! I am once again in need of some advice/direction. History: dx'd August 1st, 2007 w/ celiac disease Know that I am lactose intolerant and caffeine sensitive. Kept eating and drinking them both despite several times taking them out of my diet and feeling better. Now,...
