  1. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  2. To convert it to a muffin recipe: just don't use the yeast. It's just that simple.
  3. I know this is going to make me unpopular, but you guys need to stop being so damn shy. Restaurant staff are paid to wait on you. They are paid to answer questions, and help you decide on a meal that won't make you sick. Better more upscale places actually train their staff on various food allergies and which products to avoid. If the staff refuses...
  4. PLEASE do yourself a favor and order bread that doesn't taste like drywall. The grainless baker makes buns that when microwaved for 45 seconds look, smell and taste just like wheat bread. If you can't get those then gillians or even glutino makes better bread than energ. If you must stick with energ then at least buy the "seattle buns"
  5. Have you stopped to think that you may be allergic to corn?
  6. This is what happens when people fail to give the whole story and/ or take things out of context. Wheatware is basically plastic by the time the consumer uses it. If I am allergic to wheat food products, will I be allergic to Wheatware
  7. If it's that type of pain... then you're just incredibly out of shape in that area. Try to do 3 or 4 and then stop and each day try to add two or three more. I had that same feeling when I started working out my core, but it goes away after a while.
  8. Celiac isn't something that's triggered. It's not like a migraine or back pain. It's there all the time! If you eat the wrong food.. ie something with gluten in it. You will feel the effects of your disease otherwise it just stays there being pretty much harmless.
  9. Here is a great tip: Against the grain products are basically chebe bread mix. Google it or better yet find it on Amazon for 17.00- you'll receive 8 packages of this stuff. 1 mix will feed a family for one night or one person for several days. I tried posting the link, but the mod wouldn't let me. Good luck All they're doing is using mozz. instead...
  10. Whole foods would NEVER be liable. When shopping for anything whether it be food, clothing or eating at a restaurant.. caveat emptor always applies. BUYER BEWARE! I've been gluten free for almost 6 years. I live by two philosophies: If you aren't sure; don't eat it and Caveat Emptor and I've never been accidentally glutened. As a celiac, you have...
  11. It's nearly as quick and inexpensive to make your own chicken strips/nuggets, fingers. Either buy breasts, boneless thighs, or tenderloins- dip them in egg and roll in seasoned crumbs or rice flour. Then fry or bake. YUMMY!
  12. Hello All, I am going to be making the trip to Alices Diner in Fall River MA on Saturday. I was wondering if anyone had a menu for her restaurant that they could scan and post. I can't find one anywhere online. Also, Does anyone have a suggestion on what I should try while I'm there? Thanks a bunch. Samantha
  13. Am I the only one who can make gluten free bread that isn't rubbery, mushy or otherwise icky?? I hear a lot about kinnickinik brand gluten free products. They aren't the only company that makes gluten free stuff. Trader joes makes brown rice bread thats excellent I microwave it for 30 seconds with a few drops of water on it and it tastes and feels like wheat...
  14. NAET is quackery. its pseudoscience. muscle testing is extremely subjective. the suspect allergen is in a glass or plastic tube so you can't even make the arguement for transdermal contamination. Open Original Shared Link I know there are millions of links out there that profess the magical powers of NAET but if you have this treatment to "cure" your celiac...
  15. I think it's time for a new doctor. It being structurally similar has NOTHING!! to do with having a reaction or not. The reason celiacs react to wheat is because it contains wheat gluten not because of some stuctural similarity. I also think you should find out exactly how much your doctor knows about celiac disease. This sounds eerily similar to the common...
  16. I am planning on attending the 2006 conference in Green Bay. I'm coming in from Seattle.
  17. I live in Seattle. I've also been looking for others in Seattle that frequent this forum. How long have you been gluten free? I'm on yahoo messenger as massage45678 if you want to chat.
  18. I have been off gluten for about 2 yrs. I have learned how to cook gluten free. My problem is that gluten free flours contain alot of carbs. I've gained 15 lbs in the last 2 months. Is there anyone who knows how to cook gluten free and low carb at the same time? thanks for your help!!
