  1. I hear you about the puke thing. That was my son's biggest problem before being diagnosed 1 year ago. After going gluten free, he turned into a normal active little boy, and gained all his weight back almost immediately. He was 18 months and not walking yet, within 4 days of the gluten free diet he was walking. I was SO happy. Start the gluten free diet...
  2. Yeah, I agree. The donuts are very good. Yummmmmmmm !!! The Kinnickinnick Sandwich bread is the only bread my son will eat. So I'm constantly placing orders, and he gets excited when he gets to have a chocolate donut once in awhile.
  3. I'm so excited about the Coco Puffs and Trix deal. I can't wait to go to the Grocery Store to check it out !!! And your right, it is desperation, when you currently only have a handful of mainstream cereals out there. I'm excited. Thanks to the person who mentioned that those cereals may be becoming gluten free. If it weren't for you, we may have not...
  4. I am absolutely disgusted with McDonalds. I have to go and tell my son that he can never eat McDonalds French Fries again and it just breaks my heart. Being a GIGANTIC food chain, you would think they could put there foot down and say "find a different oil" but of course they won't. I've already written a letter to them addressing my disgust. Thank you...
  5. That is funny Noelle126, I had that thought myself numerous times !!!!
  6. My son loves the Midel Chocolate chip and Animal cookies (I actually fooled a bunch of kids with these cookies...they had no clue they were Gluten Free) We also make those peanut butter cookies too, they are quick, easy and very good.
  7. minixtyler - My son was diagnosed at 18 months, and has been gluten-free for 10 months, he handles all other foods just fine. Dairy does not affect him at all, and he eats alot of it. But, it is correct to say that everyone is different. My personal opinion is that as long as she's feeling ok and the diarreha has stopped, then she probably has no problem...
  8. Progresso Cream of Mushroom is gluten free. I use corn starch to thicken it up. We love it.
  9. Thank You - I had NO idea !
  10. My son got a little chalk board for his birthday this past weekend. I have no idea what chalk is made out of. Is it safe for celiacs??
  11. We live in Wisconsin, only about 10 miles from Johnsonville. So I am absolutely thrilled my son can eat Johnsonville brats without a problem. Living in Wisconsin, Johnsonville Brats are eaten very, very frequently in the summertime.
  12. It is gluten free, I use it in alot of recipes. It is a prepared soup so it's much runnier then Campbell's, but there are ways to thicken it up if you need to. And it tastes great, especially with big chunks of mushrooms in it !!!!!
  13. You have to read the book "Celiac Disease and kids" by Danna Korn. I was SO upset after finding out that my son has celiac and that book made me feel SO much better. She really gives some great ideas for dealing with school issues, parties, etc. It's a must read.
  14. Maya- I would just get him tested for peace of mind. My son used to be absolutely MISERABLE after eating pasta, so bad that he would cry and cry and cry until he threw up. He only seemed to react really badly to pasta though, he never had that bad of a reaction after eating bread, crackers or cereal. He too was very skinny, and tiny for his age....
  15. Oh my gosh, thank you all SOOO much !!! This really helps me out. I think I will make the brownies and also have an ice cream sundae bar for my son's B-day party !!!! I also am going to make those white cupcakes this weekend, cuz I have all the ingrediants, and my son will love that !!! Thanks again !!!!!
  16. Hello all - My son's 2nd Birthday is coming up in September, and I would love some suggestions for a good gluten-free Birthday Cake. It doesn't matter to me if it is a mix or a recipe. Any recommendation is welcomed. Thank You !!! Sarah

  20. Oh good. Glad I can fall back on the Post Cocoa and Fruity Pebbles. My son loves them. Guess he'll have to live without Corn Bursts though.
  21. Are Post Cocoa Pebbles Gluten Free?? I thought that they had Malt in them. I know for a fact that Kelloggs Corn Pops have gluten in them.
  22. Warning - I picked up a bag of Malt - O- Meal Cocoa Dyno Bites and Corn Bursts last week and noticed that they now have wheat starch in them !!!!! I called the Malt - o - meal company to ask which products are gluten-free. They still told me the original 4, but said that soon the Fruity Dyno Bytes will be the only gluten-free cereal that they will...
