Today I went to Ranch 99 Market and bought rice pasta for $1.49 a bag! Some brands were .99! I will never buy gluten free pasta at other stores for $4-5 a bag! I am so excited to try these noodles. I feel better knowing the asian stores have much better deals on pasta!

ARCHIVED People Who Think They Might Have Celiac
Kimbalou replied to Kimbalou's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I agree! I've told this person to just try the gluten-free diet and see how she feels, and she won't do it. So I guess food is more important. Sometimes I think people are just trying to get attention. -

I like those responses. I hate it when people look at what I'm eating. Sometimes I just bring baked potatoes and salad to work. And I think I should bring my own treats with my once in a while. It's not like I need cupcakes anyway. -

Thanks for the advice. I work with medical people, so maybe that's why we talk about it a little too much. I also tend to talk too much in general, so maybe it's time to stop. -
ARCHIVED People Who Think They Might Have Celiac

Thank you! You know how I feel! I don't think people really do get it. It isn't just an allergy, you are right! I have many other symptoms that go along with this disease..previous miscarriages possibly due to Celiac, carpal tunnel syndrome, tingling feet, foggy head, headaches, joint aches, etc etc!! I think these people are just trying to get attention... -
Just go ahead and stay gluten free. Sounds like you should, considering the biopsy results. It can take a long time to feel better. I was diagnosed in Nov and I still have stomach problems. I am very sensitive to everything I eat...spices, veggies, etc. You are doing the best thing for your body. Welcome to this board. i'm sure you will find a lot of help...

I guess my question is also: how do you handle people like this who keep talking about possibly having it but they don't do anything about it? I just get really tired of talking to people like this. I think I need to just ignore them. -

Almost every time I tell someone I have Celiac, they respond with "Oh, I think I have that too!. I have the same symptoms as you!" In my previous post I mentioned my coworkers eating all those cupcakes and cookies. A friend/co-worker of mine keeps telling me she thinks she has Celiac, so I keep encouraging her to get tested for it if she really thinks she... -
So, yesterday at work somebody brought in cupcakes and cookies...of course they weren't gluten-free. I had just gone to the gluten-free bakery and ate a cupcake of my own, but I was still very upset watching all my co-workers eat regular food right in front of me. We have a little group meeting before we start work and as soon as everyone saw the goodies...

I hear you. The cookies are brown. I really think they are just corn flour. My daughter likes them, and actually I didn't care for them much. They were only $2 a bag, so that was nice. I was just surprised at my husband's comment. Kinda funny.

I bought some cookies that were labelled gluten free but there were 2 ingredient labels and one listed wheat flour!! So, I called the company and they reassured me that there was only corn flour in the cookies. They used a pre-labeled "generic" bag they had, so the wheat was listed by mistake. So, I told my darling hubby the story and he said "well, isn't...

ARCHIVED Agony After Bowel Movement
Kimbalou replied to MAXX's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Hi Maxx. I'm sorry to hear about your pain. I've had some of these problems after a BM too. Lomotil works well, you need a Dr's prescription for it. It's stronger than Immodium. It will make you sleepy, so you might only need half the regular dose. You might want to ask for this med. I'm not sure what's going on with you, but at least this med will help with... -

Mustard? I usually don't eat it, but isn't it gluten-free? Guess not, but why? Crazy. Sorry to hear that! -
ARCHIVED I Can't Eat Anything Anymore! I Give Up :(
Kimbalou replied to Kimbalou's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I should have said I always eat gluten-free...if I get anything processed I examine the label. The tuna I buy doesn't list soy on it. I've never heard of soy in tuna. I just know I am sensitive to everything...! Even if it's gluten-free, the food can give me problems, like onions, broccoli, and now probably corn and nuts. I'm not eating out much at all anymore... -
ARCHIVED How Many People Are Actually Self-diagnosed?
Kimbalou replied to no-more-muffins's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I've had IBS for probably 20 years. I went to my new dr., since my other one transferred away, and I told her about my symptoms. She immediately said she would run tests for Celiac, etc. The celiac test came back highly positive. I was happy she figured it out! I also had a biopsy to confirm it. This was my first appointment with her, so I was really impressed... -

I am so tired of feeling crappy. Usually what happens to me is I feel ok throughout the day. Then, when I wake up the next morning it hits me. Yesterday I ate completely gluten-free, but I know that doesn't always mean the food will agree with me. Can popcorn and peanuts cause diarrhea and glutened-like symptoms? What about tuna? I also ate grapes. It seems... -

is it gluten-free? Don't see any issues on the label, but wasn't sure -
ooops! Don't know how that "q" ended up in vanilla! lol

I just wanted to tell everyone who is cutting out milk: I have found Vanilla Almond Milk to be even better than regular milk. The "Silk" brand is awesome! So, if you are wondering what kind to try, please try it...it's much healthier for you anyway! I was surprised at how good it is and how easy it was for me to switch. I don't miss regular milk at all, and...

I love milk, too. But i know I have an intolerance to it. I was diagnosed in Nov. I switched to Vanilla almond Milk. You have to try it!! I get the "Silk" brand, it's in the refrigerated section with the other milk. I don't miss drinking regular milk at all! It's healthier for you anyway and it lasts a lot longer than regular milk (longer exp. date) I still...
