  1. My husband went gluten free for my daughters and I and he is fine. Also he is fine the few times that he decided he wanted a "real" sandwich. That is really great that your husband is so supportive of you.
  2. I'm not going to be a huge help because I don't actually know the answer, but I can tell you that it has been the same for me. I will be 23 in a few months and after starting the diet it has been strange. Crampy for a few weeks beforehand and I started early this month and its been a little worse too. Good luck to you.
  3. Either rosemary or basil...and my sauce is never complete without garlic:)
  4. We took her to the doctor earlier in the week and they told us to call a pediatric GI. I called the name they gave me and they told me to take her to a children's hospital since she would be able to get all her care in one place and they could work with us financially. Another thing the doctor said was to cut common allergens out of her diet and the list...
  5. I'm with everyone else. Call the doctor. We are going through this with my 15 month old except our doctor just diagnosed with no test, but now everything that happens they blame on celiac. I called a children's hospital yesterday and was told that it is not normal for anyone to have diarrhea for that long especially 5-8 times a day (my daughter has had it...
  6. Thank you. She has a doctors appointment today and the ER doctor was mentioning possibly sending her to a pediatric GI. I will definitely push for it though. Thank you again.
  7. For the sour cream I saw that Tofutti makes a sour cream...its called Sour Supreme.
  8. Thank you so much for the information. I will definitely check all her vitamins and drinks too. And I will cut out dairy and soy to see if that helps. Again thank you.
  9. My mom found Rienzi brand gluten free pasta at the store the other day, it was a corn and rice blend and I have to say that it was amazing. I used it to make cabbage and noodles since I didn't have time to make egg noodles and it was so good. It was also kind of similar to regular semolina pasta which is why I am so happy...I have been craving pasta. Anyway...
  10. She has been on a gluten free diet for about 2 1/2 weeks now. The ER doc was saying that it was damage that was already done. She was diagnosed over the phone based on symptoms. Our doctor refuses to do tests on either of us because of the rates of false negatives and because of the cost.
  11. Our doctor diagnosed my 15 month daughter over the phone with celiac disease about 2 1/2 weeks ago and also sand that since she had a few gritty diapers that there was probably intestinal damage. They wanted to do a colonoscopy, but it had to wait since we don't have health insurance. Well yesterday I went to change her diaper and there were what looked like...
  12. My 4 year old daughter ended up loving gluten free eating as soon as I made her favorite food...pizza, except I used a potato and rice crust. After that it was so easy to get her to eat gluten free and my husband decided to do it for our health (my baby and I have celiac and the doctors suspect that the 4 year old may also). To the original poster: ...
  13. Not anymore. We took a chance with seasoned french fries that may contain traces of wheat yesterday and my daughter and I suffered(both were recently diagnosed with celiac). Her more then I, I was just uncomfortable and nauseous, but she has had the runs since (which is bad since she is only 1). Good luck with figuring out what to eat.
  14. I am not sure what state you are in, but in NJ for any substitutions you need to have a form filled out by your doctor(WIC provides the form), and there are a select few acceptable reasons that qualifies for substitution. We recently stopped using our checks because the doctor could not get the right wording so they would not substitute soymilk for my daughter...
  15. Both of my daughters gets colds and a runny nose with dairy. Also my motherinlaw told me that dairy used to cause frequent ear infections in my husband. I hope that helps and good luck figuring out what it is.

    ARCHIVED Diagnosed Over The Phone

Thank you so much for your response. This whole thing is a little scary for me right now, not just for myself, but for my girls also.

    ARCHIVED Diagnosed Over The Phone

Sorry this is so long... I'm new here and also new to being diagnosed with celiac , I am 22, and I have a few questions. A little background...my mom was diagnosed with IBS over 20 years ago so when I started showing the same symptoms...alternating issues with the bathroom, abdominal pain, and gassiness (with fatty foods, caffiene, some dairy and if I...
