  1. I feel like the brick in my tummy is constant all the time, feel sick to my stomach constant all the time. But sometimes it is worse than others, and sometimes it feels like there are 2 bricks in there. And I do think it is worse after I eat. I am up for my HIDA scan in the morning, and then food allergy tests in the afternoon and then Thursday I get to...
  2. It can take a while for reactions...especially when your digestive systems is all messed up. Also, some people who have gluten sensitivities have other intolerances. Maybe dairy or something else is bothering you too. You just never know. As to why testing is important, it is different for everyone. I plan on going gluten free as soon as possible...
  3. So glad to hear these encouraging stories. I can't wait to go gluten free, and just hopeful to get some relief. I can't remember what it feels like to not have my stomach hurt. Some days it is better than others, but it is constant all the time! I said to my husband the other day "is it normal to always be aware of your stomach and to to feel sick?" ...
  4. Well it sounds like you did your research and may very well be onto something with the gluten free diet So glad that it helped you feel better. I have read that often celiac can cause someone to be lactose intolerant for a while until they start to heal..so maybe that is what is going on. I have also read to start with very basic things when you go...
  5. So I am still in the testing stages of celiac....but I am so hopeful that after going gluten free I will finally feel better. But now I am wondering if those of you who are gluten free feel a little better, or if you feel like you used to feel pre-symptoms? I would LOVE to feel like my old self that existed not that long ago. I would love to have more...
  6. Mine came back negative a couple months ago, I thought at that point it wasn't even a possibility. Then I got an endoscopy and they saw some signs of celiac in the one sample they took. They then took a blood test to check to see if I have genes that correspond with celiac and if so they will do a repeat endoscopy with more samples. Honestly, even if the...
  7. Lol Ms. curious, glad to see I am not the only one with a brick...well not that I want others to feel the same but still good to not be the only one. Thanks for the well wishes! I am feeling a little better today (although I just ate so may not be pretty soon...although it did happen to be a gluten free meal). My latest (since Sunday) annoying symptom...
  8. Welcome! Others may have more answers since I am still going through the testing process myself. If you know your primary care doctor will do a complete celiac panel for a blood test then you can just go with your primary. But if you aren't sure then ask for a Gastro referral. My primary was taking blood to test for the H pylori and I asked them to take...
  9. checked my shampoo and yes it actually has wheat listed as one of the top ingredients. That is crazy. I switched to another one I have at home that doesn't have wheat listed. It's an herbal essence one that may have wheat listed secretely...but hopefully it doesn't have the same effect as the tresemme one I was using.
  10. Thank you both for your comments! I am hopeful I can hang on and wait until the testing on Wednesday. I was having a lot of nausea this afternoon and had to come home from work and just sleep for 2 hrs before forcing myself to get up. (When you have kids you can't sleep all day and they were coming home with dad). They know I am not feeling great but...
  11. Hmmm...still going through the testing but this could explain the itchy scalp, red bumps on scalp that hurt to itch...and even the small rash on my forehead that looks like DH.
  12. So if anyone has any answers to my above post, please let me know. Also I have new annoying symptoms. I have an almost constant muscle twitch (not painful just annoying) right inbetween my ribs under the sternum (I think above the pancreas near the gallbladder). It goes on for hours a day probably generally every couple seconds or so (sometimes more sometimes...
  13. Thanks, that is helpful. It is interesting how different everyone can be. My daughter generally often hungry for snacks...just eats frequently and smaller amounts. But this past week hasn't really been as hungry much.
  14. Hello everyone! I am in the process of testing for celiac and the more I think about my daughter, the more I wonder about her symptoms. I wanted to know some of the symptoms that you noted in your children that lead you to think of possible celiac. My daughter is 3 1/2. She LOVES carbs....noodles and crackers are her favorite things ever. I have to tell...
  15. I think your evil plan sounds good But I would probably have the endoscopy either way though. That way maybe you would know if you are celiac or not, as the gene still won't tell you that. But if you have the gene he may take more biopsies and take it more seriously. I just had an endoscopy done and they only took 3 biopsies (one of 3 different parts...
  16. This is a great thread to see...I haven't been diagnosed yet, but I have C as well and was reluctant to purse Celiac testing because of that. But I have read a lot more about it and see how common it is. I am waiting on the genetic test to come back and my dr. may want to do another endoscopy to get more samples if I have the genetic markers for it (he...
  17. So I jumped the gun posting my first post in the post-diagnosis category, so I will put this one in the right spot. So...I was supposed to wait until Monday to hear back from the doctor but someone cancelled so they let me come in today. I was all prepared to have them tell me it is Celiac, but the doctor is not convinced. My blood test was negative...
  18. Thanks! I guess only time will tell...but I did some research though so I am mentally prepared for when the doctor tells me. What is more concerning to me is that I think my 3yo daughter may have this. She is on the smaller side and has real problems with constipation and has had bouts of diahrhea and no real appetite. Her stomach is upset a lot and a...
  19. I have been feeling sick forever and a few months ago they did a blood test to check for Celiac, which came back negative. Then recently they did an endoscopy. I wasn't really sure what they were testing for, didn't really even think it was for Celiac at all. They told me after the procedure that everything looked good but that they did 3 biopsies (one...
