    Day Five

Had 2 pieces of toast for breakfast and felt fine. Had a bagel and cream cheese with tomato soup for lunch, started to feel a little fatigued and gassy. Dinner was fairly low in gluten, just had a touch of bbq sauce that had soy sauce in it and then I decided to have a beer. As soon as it was finished, I developed a migraine and extreme fatigue. I was ready...
  2. Oh I know all about the 'ibs' thing. My doctor told me my IBS was a parasite. This was over 7 years ago. Its only been ONE year ago that I pinpointed wheat as a problem.
  3. I'm not sure if you've tried this yet or not, but keep a food journal and record how you feel after every meal. This is how I found out that wheat was my issue, amongst fructose and 'sugar free' foods. Wouldn't hurt to try. Then look up the FODMAPS diet. But I'd also keep the gluten in the diet for now, at least until you find out your endo date.

    Day Four

Still kind of tired today, but not as bad. My back has residual pain after being as sore as it was, but not enough to warrant advil or ruin my sleep. I noticed last night when I woke up at some point, that my left nostril was plugged. I've never experienced that before other than when having a cold. I also had a mild headache today after eating an apple...

    Day Three

lol. I have NO idea what an atlas is, but I'm sure it shouldn't be coming out! (unless its an atlas for geography). Good luck!
  6. Thank you for helping me see the silver lining in this. Your story is the same as mine. I will stop moping and feeling bad about this and be grateful that I know my body is telling me something, instead of silently hurting me.
  7. I have IBS as well and it turns out that fructose is my trigger. If you can find the book IBS Free At Last by Patsy Catsos, I highly recommend it. Her book is what helped me figure out that wheat was a major cause of my stomach pain, followed by fructans and fructose.
  8. I had a dream right before I started the gluten challenge, that my cousin was at a restaurant and ordered $1000 in bread. I'm not kidding, I was watching her from my dream and she sat at a table with one of our other cousins and another friend and as the server arrived to ask what they would like to order, she looked at the server and said "$1000 in bread...

    Day Three

Fatigued. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO tired. My eyelids droop as I write this. On an interesting note about how another way gluten may bother me, I saw my chiropractor on Wednesday for an adjustment. I see her once in a blue moon. It seems that as soon as a long weekend comes, my back likes to tweak out (not twirk out thank goodness!). Anyways, she does a...
  10. When I'm glutinized, I get extreme fatigue and weakness. Feels like the flu and will last 24 hours. I've had customers tell me I look like crap during these events and no amount of coffee can keep me awake. I'm like a zombie.
  11. I hear you. I feel like I have to lie to my doctor to get her to listen to me sometimes. If I don't have enough 'symptoms' for her to believe me, I have to exaggerate to tell her what she WANTS to hear. If only drs would listen to their patients. We know our bodies best.
  12. I agree. Sounds like diabetes!

    Day One

Thanks for the wishes. I'm trying to figure out this blog thing so I can enter in my day two, but I'm not finding this sites forums/blogs/user info very user friendly. Probably doesn't help that I'm a dough head right now (no pun intended)

    Day Two

So here I am on day two. No fatigue or migraines surprisingly. I'm wondering if they have passed as I got those on the weekend when I was accidentally glutenized. Today was more like bloat and making a few mad dashes to the washroom. By the end of the day, my tongue had swollen as I can actually see my teeth imprints on the side of my tongue. Is that even...

    Day One

Awesome, thanks kareng. That will make things a lot easier (I hope) for me. I kept finding the same info over and over saying to eat 1-4 servings for at least 8 weeks on the internet. Thanks again.

    Day One

So after a year and a half of being part time gluten free (avoided the obvious sources, but continued with sauces, malt vinegars and beers) I have decided that I want to be tested for celiac. I kept a food journal and after playing around with food eliminations, I discovered that I have fructose/fructan malasorption. So I avoided apples, wheat, onions and...
  17. Just blame a glutenized brain ;D We'll forgive ya! I'll also add that its not fair that men have to pay for a PSA test. Theres a lot of dumb things, but at least we have most health care covered unlike our neighbours south of us.
  18. I live in Ontario and bought an at home kit from an online store. The blood test at the time (about 1.5 years ago) was not free to get done and I don't believe it is yet. My friend was recently diagnosed and she had to pay $90 for it. My dr told me my IBS was a parasite, which I knew was wrong, so I kept a food journal and discovered that wheat gave...
  19. Well I did a celiac test (IgA) and it came back negative. However, I'm on day 4 of going off gluten and all gas and bloating has stopped! I dont even have stomach cramps either. I'm going to go gluten free for a couple of weeks and see how I feel. If I still feel crappy, I"ll get a food intolerance blood test done. Celiacs does not run in my family...
  20. Thanks for the advice. I used to cook/steam all veggies when I had bad bouts of ibs, but since I took up exercise, I seem to be able to digest them better (no stomach cramps). Certain veggies can for sure cause gas, cauliflower and broccoli for example are definatley linked to causing sulfuric gas. I dont eat these too often just for that reason! I...
  21. Hi everyone. I have no idea if I have celiacs or if I'm gluten sensitive but I'm pretty text book for having stress related IBS. Anyways, having IBS, I've always been very gassy, but never smelly. The past 2 weeks my gas has increased and it smells so bad, rotten egg like, that I'm grossing my bf out (I make his weekend beer benders seem pretty mild...
