  1. My LO that we suspect gluten issues has always had horrendous bms, until she started on a gluten-free diet. They were always funky, but never consistantly the same issue (some were black, some were mucousy, some were pale, some looked fatty). The biggest difference I saw off gluten was the frequency changes. She went from 3-5 bms that went through to her...
  2. I agree with pp that it sounds more like a dairy issue. My DD started to react to gluten that was passing through breastmilk, but the amount that passes through breastmilk is fairly small (some doc's don't believe it is enough to cause any issues). We had no idea that she was reacting until she started dropping in weight %. She started at the 50th% and...
  3. Update after Ped appt: Weight % is now down to the 3rd%, lowest she has ever been. Ped is 100% convinced it is gluten and has already offered to refer elsewhere if we don't get the answers we need from the GI doc she is currently seeing. I told her it probably wouldn't matter because I am taking her back off gluten regardless of the test result. Now,...
  4. My LO started gaining a little bit in the 3 months she was gluten free. But, the GI doc wasn't impressed by her weight gain. For me, I was just glad her weight % had stopped dropping. She dropped from the 50th% at 2 months to the 5th% at 10 months and was the 6th or 7th% at her GI appt at 13 months. So, he put her back on gluten for a gluten challenge...
  5. Sorry that you and your kids are going through this. I have my 15 month old on a gluten challenge and she has been miserable. She had 6 loose bms the day after she started and then was just crabby. Now, 6 weeks into it she just started having 3 loose, pale, bms a day. I am counting the days until her GI appt.
  6. I don't have any answers for you, as we are in a similar position right now with our 15 month old. Her weight was 50th% until after 2 months old. She is now around the 5th. I did have her off gluten with wonderful results for 3 months. However, we currently have her back on gluten in the hopes to get an official diagnosis. I will be talking to her...
  7. salexander...That is exactly what I was afraid of. I was just telling my mom that yesterday. It feels so awful to be putting her through this, when I know gluten is an issue for her. I know that even if she comes back with a negative blood panel I will still take her back off of gluten. I really want to keep going in the hopes of getting the positive...
  8. Thanks for your response. Well, she goes back to GI in less than 2 weeks. He only made us do a 2 month challenge and I cheated and didn't start right away. She had a good day today, so maybe we can hang in there. She has shown symptoms her whole life, but I don't think she got as sick as most kids get prior to getting diagnosed. Her biggest symptoms...
  9. No one???
  10. Oh, I just created a post about having my LO on a gluten challenge. This post re-iterated for me how horrible it feels to think that I am harming my child that way. I hope that the pp was correct and the nurse mistakenly told you that because it is standard procedure for endo.
  11. So, my 15 month old daughter is on a gluten challenge at the moment. Her general story is that she started out at the 50th% for weight and maintained that until her 4 month visit. By 10 months she was down to the 5th% in weight (height was 50th% is now 30th%). I got my ped to test for Celiac's at that time. She only checked ttg levels and they were fine...
