Nannu, DD grew another 1/2 inch! So since her physical in Jan she has grown 1 in & put on 3-4 lbs. Your girl is very young so she still has plenty of time to grow--chk her height 2-3x a yr. -

I asked my 17 yo son (mildly autistic) who has been gluten-free for 10 mths if he noticed any differences since going gluten-free. He said that he has better concentration. I did not lead him or anything-completely his own words. -

That is wonderful! My DD just grow 1/2 inch too. She just turned 14 & is 4'10. I don't know how to convert metrics so how much is 115 cm in inches & feet? If your DD likes milkshakes add them to her diet several times a week. -

I've been saving scraps of bread in the freezer so I could make bread crumbs. So now that I have a fair amount I am ready to make them. However when I went to the store to buy either a food processor or blender or even a combo I got confused. I've never owned either one. I don't need/want anything fancy or expensive. Can anybody recommend what to buy... -

OP: my local super walmart just started carrying glutino breakfast bars. They are about $1 chpr than say Whole Foods. Plus if you get coupons from the manufacturers they will be even chpr. My DS likes them but doesn't want them anymore b/c he said they make him gassy . Well they are fine for many ppl just not him . -

My DD will eat udi's bagels & udi's cinnamon rolls. Fruity or chocolate pebbles are good too as well as gluten-free rice krispies with sliced bananas.And of course all Chex cereals. Since your problem is soggy cereal that is easily fixed just pour a very small portion like 7-10 (or less--you judge) spoonfuls & just add a little milk If they want... - 
	Have you had your blood sugar tested? You are saying your mouth is dry--is it due to thirst? well if I were you I'd just get it chkd There are products for dry mouth-- Biotene is one. also eat some bananas It helps with the reflux a little as bananas are akaline--opposite of acidic.Good Luck!

well when there is villi damage nutrients aren't absorbed so in addition to vit D many celiacs have anemia as well but not all. However a large portion of americans are vit D deficient due to the overuse of sunblock & avoiding the sun. Many Northerners are vit D deficient especially during winter months. Children grow in spurts. My DD @ age 13 was newly dx'd. She started gluten-free diet in jun 11 & grew 2.5 " by Oct & gained like 5/6 lbs. She hasn't grown very much if at all since Oct. However I just had her bone age scan done & it puts her @ age 12.3 so she still has room to grow. She just turned 14 last wk. Do make sure she takes a multivitamin... - 
	jane, your long suffering unexplained bouts of dizziness reminds me of a Mystery DX episode I recently saw. Look up "disembarkment syndrome" If its not ur condition I hope that you get pointed in the right direction at least. Good Luck!

It depends on what stage of puberty you are in. Stage 5 the last stage when chest hair, full beard etc are in full bloom. Boys complete stage 5 @ different ages up to age 21. But if you really want to know you will need a bone age xray to see if your growth plates are fused. -

I made the flourless choc cake today for DD's 14th birthday & frosted it with betty crocker frosting. 5 out of 6 ppl loved it. It was easy to make & I did use the expresso thinking it was a necessary thing even tho it says optional I thought it would be better with it.
