I quit gulten and dairy at the same time, and basically red meat was already a big no no for me, it always seemed to flare up my endometriosis, and because of the endo, I was pretty big on supplementing and eating...
  3. Here is a link to an article that I found interesting. It is written by a veterinarian who suffers from Celiac disease (I believe he has even written some articles for the newsletter). The article is long, but he has an amazing message he is trying to get out Open Original Shared Link If link does not work, the website is dogtorJ.com, the article...
  4. I have decided to try the gluten-free diet (without having the biopsy done). Just sick and tired of being sick and tired!! Anyways, it will only be one week today and some of my symptoms have worsened. My chronic constipation has now changed to D.!!, My joint swelling has flared up, the joint pain has increased, and my brain fog and fatigue up and down...

    ARCHIVED Chest Pain

Yeah prior to me being diagonosed with the reflux disease, my doctor did think I might of had the costochondritis, I was actually sent to a anestesiologist to get injections with antiflammatories with lidocaine right into the ribcage (the cartilage part). It did not help, but I was thankful to have somebody try to get rid of the pain. The reflux was diagnosed...

    ARCHIVED Chest Pain

Eloisa, Ditto, after years of suffering with that symptom, I too, found out by my g.i. doctor it was part of the reflux. Nexium has helped, but occasionally it still happens, my doctor never told me about the nitri tabs. I will have to look into it. Just curious , is this like the nitro patch medication that is used for chest pain in cardiac pts., and...
  7. ianm, I like your straightforward approach. When you first started your gluten-free diet, did you have other intolerances, or did you go gluten-free only. I get really bothered by fatty foods, and get a terrible pain in my right side, just curious..... Bette
  8. Ok Since I am one of the newbies, and haven't started the diet yet, still waiting for the appt. with the G.I. I went to the local bookstore and bought "Dangerous Grains" by James Braly,M.D. and Ron Hoggan, M.A. and "Eating Gluten Free" by Shreve Stockton. Has anybody read these? Is there any conflicting info. in here to??? I was trying to find...
  9. Dear celiac3270, DOUBLE THANKS!!!! For the lists and reminding me where the orginal post came from. Now could ya just help me find stuff that I lose at home too??? Bette
  10. Hi celiac3270, Could you hook me up too with both list. I have not started gluten-free yet, but it looks like me and my daughter are headed in that direction. My email is bboophsd@earthlink.net. THANKS BUNCHES Bette
  11. Hi, I had a previous topic, under pre-diagnosis, called "Where to Start". I still have no answers, and believe it or not after almost a month, there is still no appt. scheduled for a g.i. doctor (due to either the insurance dragging their feet or the referring physician(my gynecologist, not doing their job!!). Everytime I try to contact a real person...
  12. Hi Mel, Sorry to hear of your huge dietary deliema's!! I wanted to pass along a link I came across, and bookmarked when I began searching the web like crazy for info. on this gluten intolerance stuff. I have not checked it out, nor am I affliated with it in anyway, but thought it was something I might have to look into in the future. It is a canadian Dr...
  13. Hi Kaiti, Just when I thought I made a decision to get the genetic test done,I have another question, as to whether I am choosing the right lab to perform the test. I picked Kimball labs, from a this website, I talked to them, the prices are fair, and the ease of testing, easy, I don't need a blood sample, just a swipe of the cheeks. But now after...
  14. Wow I wish I had access to a Dr. like this for my daughter. We live in Las Vegas, and have to deal with our crappy network of DR. through our insurance. Keep us posted, how did all the testing come out on your children? Bette

    ARCHIVED Nj Nutrionist?

Hi Mel, I have been on these message boards for about a week now. I am going through the testing now, and awaiting an appt. with a G.I. Your post caught my eye, as we have very similiar symptoms and diagnoses. Have you had any luck with the nutritionist? I had the blood work, done, and had a slightly positive or equivocal anti-glidian IGG antibody...
  16. HI, I thought I would add an update. Regarding my antibody results, I should clarify that my IGA levels were normal, however my IGG anti-gliadin were considered a low positive. From what a read this can be normal for some Celiac patients, since a small portion of us have deficient IGA levels and of course my lab did not verify by taking a look at my total...
  17. Hi, I just got the rest of my antibody test results back today. All test regarding antibodies of IgA were negative, but my anti glidian antibodies came back as equivocal . My results were a 13 and the labs reference range is <11 is a negative. So does this suggest Celiac? Will a normal person have any antibodies to Gliadin ? I am still waiting to...
  18. Sorry to through a cog in the wheel, with the general consensus to have the cat scan with contrast, but I beg to differ. Has nothing to do with the amounts of radiation (which in the big scheme of things or negilible) but more to do with allergies to the contrast medium. I have had a bad reaction to the dye when recieving an IVP once, and from that point...
  19. Hi again, I just wanted to check back. Just as I thought, pursuing this diagnoses (I hope to rule it in or rule it out) is not going to be easy. I am still waiting for referall to a G.I., again that may take months. So I asked my primary care Dr. if she could at least order the blood test including a genetic test for this. She happily ordered it, and...
  20. Hello everybody, I just had another question for those that have been tested. Since I am still waiting to get into the referred G.I. physician , probably won't happen till June. And my daughter won't get into the pediatric physicians till long after she is supposed to have her tonsillectomy. I went ahead and had my primary physician check the serum...
  21. Wow Kaiti, Thanks for such a quick reply, it is wonderful to see such support here. I can see by your response you have just been diagnosed in the past year. Are you getting results and feeling better with the gluten-free diet? Thanks so much for your advice. I looked at the home page and found a name for a pediactric physician for my daughter...
  22. Hello Everybody, I am new here, I joined a few days back reading all the post to get as much information as I can about Celiac disease, or gluten intolerance. I have a long complicated history with many diagnoses and many symptoms that there are simply no answer to. Right now I am being seen for endometerios, which has come back after having a partial...
