  1. Thanks, that's why I'm thinking dh because it did clear with doxy and when I read that tetra is sometimes used I knew that doxy was related to that drug family. Ok, as to your questions... No, kissing gluten eaters. My hubby knows not to kiss me as I've gotten sick before from that. No, gluten from kids. No gluten allowed in house, and when we...
  2. I think I may have DH, but the doctors I have seen are not convinced as my rash does not present like typical DH. I was diagnosed with Celiac in 2011 after being quite ill for a few years. Before my decline in health I developed a blistery rash just inside and outside of my nose. It's a small area affected. Both nostrils and the outside part between...
  3. I've eaten there and it was so darn good. Really good. The owner's wife has celiac so all the food is gluten-free. Wow! Thanks for this. I had no idea these apps existed.
  4. I recently went to Babycakes in Downtown Disney. I became violently ill. I contacted the bakery to make them aware that I became sick. They suggested it was from something other than gluten. No, it was gluten. I have very specific symptoms to gluten only. For example the only thing that makes me break out with dermatitis herpetiformis is gluten. All my...
  5. Yes, they do list any gluten, but I was just wondering if anyone's gotten sick from cross contamination. Ever since I got sick eating an Amy's gluten free meal, I'm leery.
  6. I'm not so picky and I like their products, including bread. Just slather a bunch of Nutella on it and it's good. Twas a happy happy day for me when I found I could eat Nutella.
  7. I read on the Trident site that the gum is gluten-free
  8. Has anyone ever gotten glutened from eating B&J? There is a buy one get one free at my grocery store this week. I really want some.
  9. I'm glad to hear no one has actually posted that they've gotten sick from Pacific Naturals. I just got done eating dinner and had some soup from them. I was nervous for a second!
  10. My dh has had his cast iron pan longer than he's had me. We don't have a self clean on the oven. He just heat it on high on the stove top, and scrubbed it with metal. Now, of course he didn't strip it completely doing that. Anyway, he then seasoned it several times. I haven't had any problems with it.
  11. Wow, your bread looks good. I can't wait until I get a stand mixer.
  12. Shauna, thank you so much.
  13. Oh my! Me too! I've never had headaches at the back of my head before until now. I also had horrible headaches during my initial with drawl from gluten. Granted it's only been 5 weeks since I was diagnosed celiac. I became very sick this past Sat from accidental gluten, and my headache is exactly where you describe. I've had the headache since Sat night....
  14. True enough. See? Food is nothing but problems.
  15. I'm sure I do feel the effects of my thyroid. I alternate between symptoms of hyper and hypo. Not fun. It does seem like I have become super sensitive to gluten since going gluten-free. Just doesn't seem fair does it? I, too, have lost all love of food. I told my dh I feel like it's just not worth eating. I used to love food. Especially pastry and...
  16. I already have gotten rid of everything in my house. I replaced everything in my kitchen except my stainless pots and pans and dishes. My kitchen is completely gluten free. We do not have any gluten foods in the house at all. I have gotten rid of all my body products such as hair products, lotions, and makeup that had gluten. I have been tested twice...
  17. I was diagnosed a month ago. Before that I was getting sick every month or so and then it increased to every other week or so. Once I was diagnosed and went gluten free, it seemed that the two times I had gluten I instantly became very sick. Before I was gluten free I was obviously eating gluten all the time, yet I wasn't sick all the time. Now that I'm gluten...
  18. Yes, I've just spent about 20 minutes reading about all the people having reactions to Amy's. Sigh.
  19. They were tested for the DQ8 and DQ2. My one son has DQ2. My others have neither and the Dr. told me they have a 95% to 98% percent of not getting celiac but that it is possible to get it without those genes. I had the gene test done at the Dr's office. It was a blood draw.
  20. Has anyone ever gotten sick after eating a gluten-free Amy's brand frozen dinner? I ate one this evening for dinner and I am now very sick. Also, yesterday afternoon by accident, I ate peanuts that had wheat starch on them. I threw up after eating them, and only felt a little tummy upset the rest of the night. All day today I have felt fine. I've...
  21. Two of my sons do not have the genes for celiac. So my oldest really is just allergic to wheat (he tests IgE positive) and it is not celiac. My other son does not have celiac but he does have a gene for it. So he will be gluten-free to lower his risk of developing it. Actually, at home the whole family will be gluten-free, but when we're out I...
  22. Why was I so stupid? I used an open jar of mayo at my parents' house to make noodle salad. Stupid! I didn't even think about it. I thought I was being so careful. I feel like an idiot. I've sent my husband out for metamucil and culturelle. It can't hurt me to try.
  23. I've eaten gluten on accident. I already feel it starting. I read in a book on celiac that taking metamucil can help get it out of your system faster. Is this true? If that's the case would taking the anti-diarrhea have the opposite effect? I do not want to up all night sick! Please help!

    ARCHIVED Lymphoma

Thanks for the reassurance. That book threw me off and upset me. My father in-law is battling cancer right now so it's a fearful subject for me.

    ARCHIVED Lymphoma

I just read the book Celiac Disease: A Guide to Living With Gluten Intolerance which was published in 2006 or 2007. In the book it stated that the risk for lymphoma does *not* decrease with a gluten free diet. I have been having constant anxiety since reading this. Everything else I read just simply states that cancer risk decreases with a gluten-free...
