  1. I hear ya! I can remember back to college days when beer and pizza were my favorite party food. Now I don't let myself get anywhere close to drunk unless I am in my own atmosphere and know I have yummy gluten-free snacks! ??
  2. Do we have the same doc?? Cause I feel like you just described mine! Haha love it! ???
  3. Cheap date doesn't even begin to sum me up now! Haha ? So I try to stick to the ciders or gluten-free beer, occasionally I'll go for a Twenty2 and cranberry but look out, 1 of those and I'm done haha (twenty2 is a vodka made here in Maine, very good!)
  4. Hmmm it's an interesting thought, I lean towards the loose tendon process, myself. I always had ankle trouble as a kid, but it was attributed to sports, as I was a basketball player and hadn't been diagnosed until my twenties. I am at the present moment battling a knee/tendon issue. I have one knee that feels the need to dislocate once and a while and lock...
  5. It is a bit sci-fi, but more on along the lines of a cross of twilight sort of romance and Big Brother, did you read that one? Lol I may re-read that one soon! Ofcourse it is laced with a love story and a heroine. It might be worth checking out, I didn't know if I'd like it and loved it right away. ?
  6. I'm just getting started with Delerium, it's rather Hunger Games-ish..pretty good so far!
  7. I stumbled on him, my friend's mom had some bowel trouble and went to him and just loved him. So she told me about him, how he was so nice and knowledgable, so I requested him. My primary wasn't keen on sending me 4 hours away but I demanded and I'm glad I did. Having a great doc is well worth the travel time!
  8. The first day I saw my gastro he looked at me and said " I promise I will fix you"...and that he did. He's awesome, and if it goes to his head, you'd never know it! Last time I saw him he put the questions to me about places to eat and favorite shops haha I guess that's paying it forward!?
  9. Yahoo!! Holy lovin' Raz, you went all out, what are ya making next?? I really need to get some of your enthusiasm towards cooking and get my butt in gear! But instead I'll just cheer you on for now haha ???
  10. I think that if you're reacting often enough to be worried then it's worth a conversation. I would suggest your direct supervisor, so the two of you can devise a plan for coverage when necessary. Just my two cents
  11. If anything, the app will give you a starting place of establishments to research. I use "find me gluten free" it's the same idea I'm sure. I only use it as a start point, it gives me an idea of restaurants in the zip code I enter who have a glutenfree menu. I start googling and calling from there lol
  12. Tonight is steaks on the grill with potatoes and onions grilled as well!
  13. Chin up Raz!! You'll figure it out, and you've got lots of people here to bounce questions off of, so it appears! Good luck!! ???
  14. You're very right with this one, I hardly ever checked out the ingredients list until my diagnosis. Once I was forced to look at everything I was ingesting, I realized just what crap I had been putting in my body. That was an eye opener, who wants to ingest things they can't pronounce? Not me! ??Amazing the things you can learn when you're forced to pay attention...
  15. Yesterday my family was having a gathering for supper. My little cousin, who is three, decides he and his "cheese-a-Saurus" sandwich(full of gluten) wanted to sit next to me. Mother nature was whirling the wind all around us, it's a beautiful day, we're all enjoying the beautiful day at the lake when the wind picks up my little cousins plate/sandwich and...
  16. Yes definitely! I'll get my fork!! ????
  17. That I can! Gatorade makes me feel like I've been hit by a truck. Bloating, dull gut ache and all around lethargy. It also burns my throat, I don't honestly think its a gluten thing, but we quite obviously don't mesh lol I really don't like artificial sweeteners all that much, and I wonder if that is my problem. So I just don't drink it and very seldom do...
  18. This sounds promising, and I have coconut flour, yes!!! Nothing like chocolate cake, guess I know what I'm doing on my day off, haha?
  19. That's awesome! Hope you find something yummy! Who cares what it costs, it's the nostalgia of the park, right? Haha everything costs a lot inside the gates it seems!
  20. Another fabulous family gathering supper was had here, lake side ofcourse due to this beautiful weather!! We had pork loin and steak on the grill, new potatoes, beet greens, rhubarb chard, green salad, deviled eggs, and homemade vanilla ice cream with butterscotch topping to finish the evening off.....holy lovin' I'm full!! Haha my Aunt has always said that...
  21. Yummmm....I love Wendy's baked potato with chili!!! ??
  22. Never too old for cupcakes! I'm 30 and prefer them over cake! Lol just made some a few months ago with "tie dyed" frosting, so fun!
  23. When I want cake I use the Betty Crocker gluten-free chocolate mix and add 1 can of Sprite Zero to it, nothing else! Mix and bake. Times are the same as the box for the most part, and I use the Betty Crocker frosting, rainbow chip was the latest obsession haha sooooooo yummy...
  24. Did I see that Dallas has made a come back?? My mom used to love that show! I remember watching it religiously as a kid.....
  25. If my memory serves me right, pampered chef makes a pizza pan created especially for the grill ?
