  1. Thanks guys, yes I'm pretty sure that I'm not getting glutened anywhere as I'm the only adult in the household and do all the food prep. My diet is elemental solids really. I did think about the Vitamin B connection so I might up my supplements (i'm only taking one per day where I could take two) till things settle down. It hasn't helped that the D has...
  2. Has anyone else been severely glutened and got over the GI, ataxia etc. to be left with a deep sort of depression, particularly at pre-period? I am really suffering from about 5 days of being very very down, anxious, depressed and feeling even like I didn't want to go on. This has only showed for the last three periods since I was badly glutened this summer...
  3. Three times I went to my Dad's house and he presented me with cakes or gluten free bread saying 'there's no egg in this, or milk' with pride. I didn't have the heart to tell him he keeps missing soya. Twice I've gone home feeling poorly... the third time I made everyone else eat the macaroons and told his wife to lie! AND, the people who keep saying to...
  4. I think I stupidly really didn't pay much attention to this and then wondered, whenever he was round, why I felt worse! I did actually say to him that I thought I was allergic to him... he wasn't impressed but I don't think the message sank in for either of us. In future I will be stating my condition up front and hopefully that will sort the wheat (haha...
  5. Yeap, too right!
  6. Three days after he went I had lost all the puffiness and off colouredness that I had developed... Same as when I eat say dairy, I put on two pounds of water!
  7. Phew, I am so relieved! I thought it was all in my head. I always felt slightly under par when my boyfriend was round. We aren't seeing each other any more, but it will explain why I just wasn't quite right. He got fed up of the rules for gluten free etc! Nice. Guess it's better to find out now than later huh?!
  8. Crazy question I know but does anybody here think that they have a reaction from kissing their partner when they have eaten gluten? How long do you leave and what do you do to deal with this threat?
  9. Thanks so much Colleen. I haven't had a chance to talk to the doctors as visiting is out of daylight hours. He is now out of hospital so that his kidneys can recover enough for them to do the barium meal contrast scan... but he is still very poorly. I'll see if I can mention to his wife this weekend about the celiac.
  10. Hi all, this is about my Dad, not me. I am not biopsy diagnosed but have Celiac (ataxia, stomach problems, migraines, weight loss etc when eating gluten - worse after two years avoidance). My Dad has been admitted to hospital with severe prostatitis, liver stones, kidney stones, renal failure and bleeding gut (alternating const/diarr). Does anyone recognise...
  11. Well, the acupuncture looks like it has done the job. My stomach is far better co-ordinated and the D is near enough gone. Moods are still a little erratic but brain fog has completely gone and I have had a big shop in London show interest in my handmade soap - so there's a result! Does anyone find they have relationship problems when they get glutened...
  12. My glutening symptoms show up slowly over two days. Firstly I feel tired and woozy after about an hour an a half, then insanely hungry for about a day, then very poorly with fever, flu symptoms for about 12 hours, then very poorly tummy and water retention, irritability, tiredness etc for about 3 weeks. Next time it might be different. This was the first...
  13. Totally agree with you Chris, and it is such a relief to know that it isn't only me who seems to have endless symptoms. I, for sure, am going to be totally careful about how and what I eat from now on. I can't afford to have such a load of time taken from me!
  14. My lip colour is ok, though my tongue has been very pale for a while. I see the acupuncturist about every three to four weeks. I feel it really gives me much needed support through the healing and through all the crisis - emotional or physical. Depending on your physical/emotional state it can be once every two weeks, or more or less - acupuncturists if...
  15. Yes, I'm eating solids - mostly chicken, or steak, lightly cooked veggies and some potato chips (gluten free). That's about it. Banana's and fruit are out because of the damp issue from the spleen/stomach.
  16. Thanks guys. I had an acupuncture session yesterday and she has managed to flush some of the stuff out of my system. Things seem a bit calmer today though I am still dehydrated... She said my spleen and stomach (or digestive co-ordination in chinese medicine) were deficient. She's worked on those. Here's a link to the topic you might find interesting...
  17. Uggghh, three weeks on and I'm still suffering. I'm on a seriously plain diet and no wine and the itching is just insane. It's like my stomach takes in the food, plays with it for a few hours then lets it race through undigested to my large intestine, where it just poisons me further. I can't get up in the mornings I'm so tired from all of this. I tried...
  18. Thanks everyone. Haven't been on here in a while and was starting to think it was me! Paranoia I think we can safely add to the list. See you on another thread soon.
  19. I get you... but you need to rotate foods. The problem with our diets these days is that we eat like everything is available naturally all of the time... which of course in the paleo/neolithic times they weren't. Clean means anything that you can eat without technically preparing - or processing. So veggies and meat and fish and fruit. However, with...
  20. Keep drinking the LF milk then. It obviously suits you. I wasn't saying you should cut it. My message was please don't think that you aren't celiac because the docs have found another intolerance. As other posters have said, a lot of food intolerances go with the celiac. I think that some are down to having a completely wrecked gut lining that lets anything...
  21. I'm IgG allergic to Casein and the ONLY solution has been to cut every single bit of dairy from my diet. When I eat a tiny amount I feel like I'm going to have an asthma attack, I get dizzy and spaced out and then are poorly the next day. I put on a tremendous amount of water weight when I eat dairy and become sweaty to the point I thought I was going through...
  22. I follow a wholefood diet - meat, some fish, veggies and fruit. I have just cut out rice again as I think it was making my last glutening symptoms worse. I use only olive and sunflower oil. No dairy as I'm IgG intolerant. It really does work for me. First day in ages that I haven't had brain fog after cutting the rice!
  23. I do get leg numbness, wobbliness with glutening, along with a raft of other effects. Tingling and numbness to the extremeties is very normal for me. I am also sensitive to a number of other foods but these normally just cause tummy upset and tightness in my chest/dizziness and sometimes pain. Other glutening signs are migraine type headache, visual disturbances...
  24. Thanks all so much for the suggestions and support. I can say that things are starting to calm down now. I think the dairy free probiotics really helped a lot. I never take a lot of anything as I find this is what can sometimes tip me over the edge. One probiotic a day together with Aloe Vera and usual supplements has made all the difference. So good...
