  1. Wow, that is some story. I am so glad that your symptoms haven't been life altering in the time that you have been eating gluten. Welcome back to the gluten free diet! I wasn't diagnosed as a child, and as yet have not had an official diagnosis though my doctor thinks the gluten-free diet and results is pretty conclusive. When I was two and a half my...
  2. Sounds like you might have a little bit of gut dysbiosis from the throwing up etc. That tends to put all the bacteria etc. out of wack. Have you been taking a good probiotic? That might help things, together with a small amount of Aloe Vera, which is very soothing to the stomach/gut lining.
  3. Another question to add to this, has anyone who is on a gluten free, dairy free, solanacae (nightshade) free, soya free diet had some significant 'reactions' namely itching and poorly tummy towards the end of their menstrual cycle? I was doing fine for the first 18 or so days of this cycle and then the itching started all over again, though much reduced...
  4. Yes, my symptoms got better first (irritability, itching) then slowly got worse... and out of control!
  5. I agree re the oats - I nearly flipped at my nutritionist but after speaking to the nutritionist by email at Solgar the oats are refined to just the fibre part, and I haven't had a problem with them. Some people may well do though so worth going with something you are 100% sure about, as well as the Soy. I was also worried about some of the herbs but they...
  6. Of course! Yes, the V2000 is a multivitamin and has some complimentary herbs in it. If you look up Solgar the sites it is stocked on give a breakdown. I take, in my opinion, a ridiculous amount of supplements but they are definitely working for me! It is not food based though... they are much more expensive and my budget just doesn't stretch!
  7. I kind of agree here, except I certainly do have parasites as I can see the eggs and some other worm like bodies, and my test from the NHS just came back negative because the labs only test for 20% of what actually exists! So I was forced to take my healing in to my own hands... I would be 90 before the NHS did all the tests required for my condition as...
  8. Hi there, I totally feel for you. Like you, when I went gluten free some of the symptoms subsided, such as migraine and upper bowel swelling, but then a whole other raft of issues started appearing. I felt like I was reacting to everything I ate...chicken, all grains, nightshade plants, starches. It was getting ridiculous, and a lot of my symptoms were...
  9. Yes, I have a rotator cuff injury which flares up if I have a bad digestive day or too much gluten. I haven't been diagnosed yet but it is looking pretty likely I am celiac or at least very gluten intolerant. After physio it has calmed down a lot but I can hear it click alot when lifting things. I try to keep my diet straight so it doesn't flare.
  10. I was wondering if you had any more information on taking Neem for parasites? I have some! And am taking 2x400mg Neem 3s daily. How long do you think I will have to take it for. I think I have caught them quite early as have only seen the eggs for 8 days or so... thanks!
  11. I haven't yet been tested for celiac and am very nervous of having a biopsy because of something that happened to my Grandma a number of years ago. My question really is to try and pin down the likely hood of my having celiac disease versus Gluten sensitivity. I recently had a birthday party and over the course of four days around that time ate a lot...
  12. It is so hard dealing with the UK NHS system when you don't have an openminded Doctor. I think they have a limit to the tests they can run on things that are not 'obvious'. My doctor asked if I really wanted the tests as it was pretty conclusive with my diet changes that I was on the mend. I said of course I did because I have two small children who might...
  13. I would certainly agree with that. Are you going to get more tests?
  14. Yes, I'm in the UK too. I also eliminated nightshades two days ago and am already starting to feel better from that! Would be interesting to see what the next raft of tests shows. The first one NHS does is often negative in celiacs apparently because of IgA deficiency. Let me know how you are both doing.
  15. Hi there, would be really interested in finding out what your results are and which tests you were given. I've had one IGA test so far which was negative but my doc said that that is by no means accurate. He is ordering RAST next. I wish they would do them all in one go rather than keep having to give vials of blood!
  16. Hello, my ten pence worth, it sounds like you might have a kidney issue. Are you taking a lot of supplements? Some supplements can promote the formation of stones. Alternatively you might, with the detoxing from gluten, just have tired kidneys! Have you had a urine test done? Might be worth visiting the doctor. There are herbal remedies for kidney stones...
  17. I'm totally with you on this. I've been gluten free for 4 weeks and the stomach cramps are worse and it feels like I'm reacting to everything I put in my body! However, the bloating has gone down and the headaches are definitely better. Does anyone else have this experience? How long is this likely to last?!
  18. I've been gluten free now for four weeks and am experiencing the most horrendous ovulation pain. I usually only get it for a few hours on the right hand side, but this time i have had it on the left hand side and it has lasted for nearly two days with no sign of abating. In addition I feel quite constipated, like the swelling there is stopping everything...
  19. The nature of gluten... sticky and coating... may be why she is now experiencing issues. Whilst anyone eats gluten your gut is lined with it. When you take it out of the diet, lots of other things start being absorbed through the gut wall. Your wife may well be sensitive to something she is eating but not had the symptoms before because the gluten was...
