I think I might try that! -
ARCHIVED How Long B-4 Brain & Body Working?
CR5442 replied to Tom2's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
You sound like you have had a really tough time. I would just listen to your body with regard to how soon and how much work you take on. Your body and mind are exhausted for some time after giving up Gluten. It takes the adrenals a long time to recover too. How do you feel physically and mentally in yourself now? Do you feel ready to up the gears a little... -
There is a possibility you might be salicylate (sp?) sensitive (or even Phenols). In my herbal class this morning the lecturer said one of the symptoms can be nasal polyps (which i've had), and obviously being ENT related that could affect your ears. Also, is there a particular side you feel this earache? Sometimes mine is related to liver congestion....

ARCHIVED Vision Issue, What Is This?
CR5442 replied to AVR1962's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
It's really wierd isn't it?! I go through phases of vision issues. I remember when i was younger I was always squinting, to protect my eyes from the light. Right now I get a lot of images staying as shadows in my eyes for minutes after stopping looking at said thing... say a TV or a light. Since I've been on a liver detox and also sorting out the adrenal... -
ARCHIVED Great Stress Reliever When You Are Healing
CR5442 replied to sandsurfgirl's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
This is really interesting stuff. I used something similar with my first pregnancy for morning sickness. It didn't cure it but made it manageable. I have to say though that after the sickness left I couldn't listen to the track any more - it made me nauseous!!! -
Cramping aching in the mid-back sounds like spleen. Have you seen an acupuncturist? They may be able to help!
-
Congratulations on your baby. Kind of wish I'd been on here for some tips pre-pregnancy myself!

Hi there, this is a really good question! I am dealing with this right now. Before you get any gallbladder surgery perhaps try and treat for congested liver. I have had this pain on and off for years but have it worse now as have kicked coffee out of my diet. Coffee was acting as my 'bitters' which in herbal/TCM terms help the flow of bile. Bea/Yolo...

ARCHIVED Gluten Enzymes - Experience/reviews?
CR5442 replied to Leper Messiah's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hi there, I just spoke to Evie, who was the nutritionist I spoke to before. She said that these supplements, with regard to diet, should only be taken to try and ameliorate symptoms from accidental/possible glutening e.g. when you go out. With regard to using it in solution on a counter top, she advised that the gut environment is completely different from... -
ARCHIVED Gallbladder/liver Congestion

Good point too re the tinctures and trace gluten... I'm not entirely sure but I know that our regulations are very strict for large scale production so CC would probably not be a problem, but you are right about the grain alcohol issue - I'll look in to that more - that might be why I was having a problem with the H&B milk thistle tincture but not with... -
ARCHIVED Gallbladder/liver Congestion

Hi Bea, I'll bear the homeopathy in mind but here to practice either herbalism or homeopathy the training is very extensive not to mention expensive! As I really am looking to practice as a herbalist with probably some other additions like massage and acupressure I'm not too worried about the immune stimulant issue. That is really something I need to worry... -
ARCHIVED Gluten Enzymes - Experience/reviews?
CR5442 replied to Leper Messiah's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hi there. Just to let you know that there are very peculiar guidelines about what you can and can't say about any medications even herbs in this country. If they don't know the specific answer they will say they don't as they don't want you to end up getting glutened using this method. If you like, as I'm in the UK I can give them a call to see if there... -
This site might also be useful for other possible sensitivities. Lots of useful info. Open Original Shared Link

Oh dear, I really sympathise. It might be an idea to get a pulse test done. This is different from allergy testing. It shows intolerances rather than allergy. I had mine done by my acupuncturist. She found out that I shouldn't be eating coconut - which was one that I was very surprised about. I took along small bits of food like butter, honey, linseed...

Sorry, I would also cut out any citric/acidic type foods (as they are when they start in your system), so all the citric fruits and any vinegars, including cider vinegar.

Hi Fairy Dancer, boy I totally agree with you on the NHS. I kind of gave up when they sent me to a dietician who basically just looked at what I was eating and said Ummm, yes, and do you have this book (the celiac.org) book... which you aren't allowed until you are actually diagnosed positively with Celiac. She said 'no, itching isn't normal' but didn't...

Bea! You are a life saver. I took the dandelion root in a decoction today and it really worked a treat! Now need to go and dig up more dandelions! -
Hi, I was just wondering if she has had her bloods taken recently. That might shed more light on what is causing the continuation of pain... just a thought!

ARCHIVED Gallbladder/liver Congestion
CR5442 replied to CR5442's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hi Yolo! Thanks so much for this amazing information. I just started to study for a degree in Herbal Medicine at Lincoln, UK so your information is so interesting and adding to the body of knowledge (little though that might be right now!). I will definitely try dandelion, I was looking at that yesterday in my books. Is it better to eat the root or are... -
This is really for the women on the board. I've been trying to figure out for ages why my liver gets congested twice a month, halfway and at the end of my cycle (and had obstetric cholestasis in pregnancy). I'm wondering if somebody out there, perhaps Skylark, could look at what I think the key issues are below: So, when we eat, as celiacs/intolerants...

I'm really agreeing with you now! I'm inflamed beyond belief this morning. Something I took/ate over the last few days has been working on my system. It could be a number of things so back I go to gluten-free sausages and peas for two meals a day and chicken for one. I am sooooo bored of eating like this!!! Any tips for keeping the constipation from...

Yes, I agree with this. But the tea doesn't contain the linseed, only the mucilage. Anyhow, last night I had a reaction to something so I'll cut out the goldenseal/echinachea to see if it's that, otherwise it's the linseed! I did react to raw linseeds but I think that was the moulds as they were quite old. Yesterday I upped the Goldenseal/Ech mix a little...

Just a quick update. After a little thinking I remembered linseed tea that my nutritionist had me on when pregnant with my daughter four years ago. That seems to have calmed a lot of my symptoms down of itching and twitching. The acupuncturist said my blood was dirty last time. Apparently the mucilage from the linseed helps absorb and elimination of toxins...

You poor things both of you. You needing to know that your aren't going to be glutened and him probably dealing with queries, stress and pre-wedding nerves! I'm sure that he will settle down. In the meantime I agree with the other poster that you should make sure you have a very very good meal before the wedding, take snacks along in your bag and definitely...
