  1. Is she allergic to nuts? Or eggs? I have found that almond flour and coconut flour works very well. When you bake with these you can actually create things that are light and fluffy or very moist depending on how you use them. They are the 2 best flours I have worked with that don't end up being rock hard and tasting like cardboard. In my experience the...
  2. Hey everyone. I'm still a newbie to gluten free (2 months) although I've known for a few years that I have trouble with processed food. I'm a dancer but had to stop due to a complete inability to function from the gluten. I have been sick since September 2010 and was diagnosed in October 2011. After a hell of a lot of my own research and working with a...
  3. diandliam, I've alays had the same problems and not been able to use make up until recently, I'm in AUS also. I use Inika for makeup. I have never had problems with any of their products. Trilogy make good skincare products that don't both me either (which is rare), the only product of theirs that contains gluten is their hand cream.
  4. P.s. If you really want something akin to cereal, you can try mixed nuts with coconut milk and raspberries on top in the mornings.
  5. I guess what I can tell you is that you are not alone. This is what has worked for me so far. I am 5'0 ft and was 61 lbs at my worst. I cannot tolerate alcohol, caffeine soy, dairy, corn, eggs, potato, sugar or sweetener (except stevia or nativa). Anything processed, anything that contains starch or anything that contains grains also are not well tolerated...
  6. It's perfectly okay to keep toothpaste, a toothbrush and soap in your purse. My boyfriend has to carry those things with him every time he comes to see me. Once you get used to it, it's no big deal. Thank you for being so thoughtful to him, I hope he appreciates it.
  7. Another one here who lives in brisbane. Choicesglutenfree have quite a variety of stuff (including garlic bread) and all sorts of pre packaged things to make at home or pre made. They also deliver for most items, which I find useful. There's a good restaurant where literally half or more of the menu is gluten free called Food & Soul. I've never...
  8. I have a caffeine intolerance which has gotten progressively worse over the last year to the point now that I can't tolerate it at all really. I gave up all soda, tea and coffee about 9 months ago. Three weeks ago I went to the cinemas and got a frozen coke for the first time in 3 years. I was so sick for the next however many days it wasn't funny. I've...
  9. Cambodia was probably the most gluten free friendly place I have visited. You can order pretty much anything and it will be gluten free, as long as you're not staying in a tourist resort. Brazil is not gluten free, although most traditional foods there are, but what is really helpful is that every single product must be labeled by law either; Contains...
  10. I have eaten it before and every single time I have been sick. One good thing to say about Australia is that there are many gluten free choices. Sadly, there is also no to very little awareness about Celiac or cc and what it means for us.
  11. Hey Sam, I am a half Cuban girl who has spent at least 3 months of every year there until well into my teenage years. I recently went back last year for the first time in since I was 15 (I am currently 22). While I can't speak for resorts (most cubans can't afford to use them), I can tell you about some things you will experience there. First of all...
