  1. I talked to my daughter and she will soon be posting, or at least reading your posts, in this section. I just wanted to make sure it was permitted, since she is not a teenager. I am concerned that some topics might not be appropriate because I do know that sometimes topics veer off course. Not that I think there is going to be anything bad, just not appropriate...
  2. I am not a teen, but I am checking in because I was not sure my 11 year old could post here. I do see some of you are not yet teens. My daughter does not have ANYONE in her life who is a celiac and I think this would benefit her. However, I do not want to break any of the rules of the forum by letting her post in this section if she is not supposed to. Is...
  3. I am sorry if I led you to believe those were the only signs of lupus. There are others. A doctor would know how to explain better than I do. Real estate can be difficult to get into. You are really at the disposal of the clients-you have to be ready to jump when they call and schedule your life around them. The money can be fantastic if the market is good...
  4. I know we do not get to talk to the president of the company, but if enough people ask for something it might help.
  5. We went to check out the Bakehouse line today. There was not too much to choose from. Many of the items listed on the website were not available. I did not expect they all would be, but we had about 5 items to choose from. However, there were some brands I had not previously been able to obtain so all was not lost. I did want to say that many of the gluten...
  6. I worked as an assistant in a pharmacy in a grocery store and I never heard of BC. You guys are freaking me out!! I know my mother and grandmother used to crush up asprin and give it to me with jelly on a spoon and tasting that was nasty. I cannot imagine this BC could actually taste good. But hey, if it works why not?
  7. I know this is not about the tater tots, but what is Delimex? A brand name?? I am asking because I cannot find this type of food in my area and know my daughter would like it.
  8. Please keep us posted. I really hope you find out what is causing your problems. There are many different drugs you can take. The side-effects felt by one person may not effect you at all, so IF you go on one and have problems then do tell your doctor so you can try another. My big fear is weight gain, but that pales in comparison to some of the other side...
  9. I think she is creating more interest in her book than if this so- called attack on her character did not exist. It smells of a publicity stunt. I agree with her about what she said about humor, and that is it. I read "Against the Grain" and hated it, so I never read anything else she wrote. She is so not worth it. Anyone can bring legal action against anyone...
  10. That is not true about being unable to take anti-depressants while pregnant. It's a myth. However, any medication not absolutely necessary can be stopped for the duration. Not all anti-depressants are addictive, or even difficult to stop using. Your doctor should know which ones are appropriate IF you do change your mind and decide to try them. You do seem...
  11. I read an article the other day about the slump in ticket sales. The reasons are obvious; movies are quickly released to DVD/Video, high prices, and bad movies! I almost always bring in my own food and soda. I do not hide it and have never been stopped. If there is not a sign, and I have never seen one, I do not see the problem. Back to the topic, MANY...
  12. Anacin caplets, tablets, Xtra strength tablets. Store brands: HyVee microwave thin coating,Safeway (Dominick's,Genuardi's, Randalls, Tom Thumb, Vons) I know you said name brands, but I included these in case you cannot find something.
  13. Sonjaf, I have not checked myself but I read on the Delphi forum that Effexor is gluten-free.
  14. Not all Whole Foods stores carry the items from the gluten-free Bakehouse. I checked out the website and was glad I did because the store I was planning to go to does not carry the line. So I am bringing my daughter to a different location tomorrow to stock up. She is really excited! Anyway, just thought I'd let you know it is a good idea to check the website...
  15. I think it is important to remember these products are flavored to taste like BBQ, Hidden Valley Ranch, pizza, etc. They do not necessarily contain the ingredients they are supposed to taste like. Does anyone know if this company is planning to label all of their gluten-free products in a similar manner? I am going to request they do. Will anyone else do...
  16. I know it is past dinnertime, but FYI Heinz does not list these as being gluten-free. There is a thread on Delphi forums I was just reading about this product, in case you want to read it. But if I were you I would not give them to a celiac. There are many Ore Ida products listed as gluten-free and this is not one of them.
  17. I think celiac disease does suck and I love the t-shirt. I think every disease sucks, but celiac is worse than some because it is not as well-known as others. If I saw a shirt like the one described and did not know about it, I would probably ask about it. It may help people learn about something that is likely effecting a much larger percentage of the population...
  18. If you are gluten-free then obviously if you breastfeed your baby will be gluten-free in the short-term. At about four months when solids are introduced you will have to decide what to do, so you do have at least a year to decide. Don't worry about it now since that could harm you and/or the baby. I am not saying don't think about it, just don't stress about...
  19. It seems like your child is getting a good variety of foods. Most children that age like only a few things, so you seem to be ahead of the game! I think you should give him anything you would give a non-celiac. It is very easy to adapt recipes, just substitute anything suspicious with a similar gluten-free item. Anything can be made gluten-free. Don't let...
  20. I have not been online for a few days, but I am back. I am sort of glad that I am not the only one who has problems with the non-stick pans. I do wish the problems did not come up at al for anyone though! But really, I totally thought it was me so I am glad its not. Vydorscope, what pans do you have that lasted 7 years? It would be a blessing for me if...
  21. My husband is gulity of the same thing your husband is. He assumes since one french fry is okay, all french fries are okay. Tonight I was very surprised when he asked our waiter if the fries were cooked in a dedicated fryer though, so that is progress! Sometimes I think it will take a bad reaction from out daughter to make sure he does not forget to ask questions...
  22. Well I never worried about the chemicals until the finish started peeling . I'm just not a worrier. I do use Pam, but when cooking at high heat it becomes hard to get the Pam off. It's great at keeping the foods from sticking, but sometimes if I overspray and get it on a part of the pan not covered by food the Pam sticks to the Pan. I hope this is making...
  23. Hi, I have been having a problem finding a non-stick pan that does not peel. After a few uses and washings all of the pans I have tried start to peel. I have tried many different brands in different price ranges but always have the peeling problem. Should I forget non-stick pans and use regular pans or does someone have a good brand this does not happen...
  24. I agree completely with Kati. I did want to add that if they are open to hearing it you could explain what symtoms you believe they have that are similar yours and mention how they have gone away. You might hit on a symptom of theirs that is bothering them to such an extent that they feel it might be worth getting it "fixed" by going gluten-free. You seem...
