  1. Great posts all, especially rosetapper. I am still amazed that I can work out, go for a skate, etc and not spend the next day recuperating. This is real helpfull especially for those that need to exercise to lose weight.
  2. I am almost two months into it and am just now seeing a bit of progress. Not so much in weight loss but less belly. You also have to exercise a bit, and work on your 'core' muscles. The older you are the longer it takes.
  3. What was your main symptom? Mine was/is the bloating and I.B.S. Also how long did it take to recover? And how about those Jets!?
  4. Hi Bea can you tell me more about the nattokinase? I have had no luck with enzymes or probiotics. Thanks
  5. Colo-rectal cancer runs in my family. I lost my Dad andtwo uncles in their 40's. I am 53, but I also lead a healthier lifestyle, no smoking, not too much booze. I wouldnt be surprised if their is a connection. They all ate lots of fatty meat slopped up with my Grannies home made bread. They all had the big bloated belly like I have, which is only now starting...
  6. I have been doing my best to conciously avoid gluten since Jan 01, and its starting to pay off. This past Saturday night, I was socialising, and had quite few beers before I realised they were a no no. They loosened me up enough to have some gluten snacks. I am back on the wagon now, but was this a major setback in terms of hurting my system, or not so bad...
  7. Thanks for all the help guys. You werent kidding about my system going through changes. I go from a pleasant butterfly sensation, to extreme nausea, not to mention the weird you know whats. I guess its a waiting game, then I will incorporate a few high glycemic carbs back into my diet.
  8. Does anyone else find that they get bloated and nauseous after consuming carbohydrates? I am eating a lot less now because of the gluten, but I find even a small baked potato or bag of chips bloats me right away. Is this because of a lack of digestive enzymes? Is it possible come folks could even be mis doagnosing themselves with gluten intolerance when its...
  9. This has always been my main issue, and one of the big ones for most of us, especially the gals. I used to do all kinds of abdominal exercises and all I got was big bloated muscular abs! I started doing 'stomach vacumes' a year ago, and like most things I lost interest-they didnt seem to be working.(Thats my A.D.D. there too). In January when I went...
  10. Has anyone found they can lose weight faster by not eating anything after supper and especially before bed? I have read that its total calories over the day, not when you eat them, that leads to weight loss. However, in my case I have a very slow metabolism, and I think it could be related to gluten. Its tough for me NOT to snack before bed as I work evenings...
  11. Hi Good to see more guys. I havent been diagnosed with celiac, but I am pretty sure I am gluten sensitive. I figure it out a few years ago but kept backsliding. Cant resist my toast! Started agin Jan first and getting better slowly-I am 52 so it will take longer. I also have GERD, anxiety, hypertension, I.B.S., A.D.D. (real bad as an adolescent), and sleep...
  12. Sure would like to hear from more guys with gluten intolerance. It seems to be more of a female issue, but I think girls are more willing to share while guys would rather not.
  13. Hi Are you a guy or gal? Sure would like to meet more guys with gluten intolerance. It seems to be more of a female issue, but I think girls are more willing to share while guys would rather not.
  14. Hi I know people from Croatia and Serbia. Right now I am into 'bus tours'. Just took one to the Black Hills, next one to Waterton Lakes. Dont know about the stores you memtioned but a new one opened up that has gluten free stuff I will have to check out. TTYL!
  15. Does anyone else have digestive issues with carbohydrates in general-apart from the ones containing gluten? Potatoes bloat me up, even rice. I have found a low carb diet is the only way I can lose weight. I used to think I was carb intolerant, but now pretty sure its the glute. Besides, how can you live without even a few carbs. If I didnt have my glutino...
  16. I use protein drinks myself-they are filling and can help in slimming. Since I dont eat much fruit I usually put some in a protein smothie. I found that whey gives me bloating, maybe because of the lack of enzymes. Try a different type such as pumpkin seed. Also you get what you pay for
  17. You sound a lot like me. I came across the same info doing my research. I found 5-htp helps-its a purer form of tryptophan. I am just now getting back to a more normal emotional state after a month of gluten free.
  18. I think its quite common. Mine have lessened since I have been gluten free for a month.
  19. Hi I cant tell you how much I enjoy this site. It is so helpfull, and I enjoy being able to help others. I am not into the whole social media thing, but would certainly enjoy meeting people, gals and guys. I enjoy traveling and meeting people from all over the world, I like to talk and am not shy. My boss says I am one of his favorite drivers. Hats off to...
  20. I am a 52 year old guy in Saskatoon, Canada.

  21. Hi Any other gluten free's in Saskatchewan, western Canada, or Canada?
  22. Yesterday I played hockey with my tenage son. 'Normally', I would be totally incapacitated today. (I am 52). To my surprise I am only a bit stiff-I even did a light workout! Hope this can be some inspiration. Hell-maybe I can still make the Habs!
  23. I think its a good thing. Like the others have said your body is adjusting. I have lost my cravings for booze. Now I can have a couple drinks and be OK-how good is that!?
  24. Hi Guys go on binges too. I think its perfectly natural. I watch my calories and work out all week, then I pig out on the weekend. GLUTEN FREE of course.
