  1. I'm confused.. join on the forum where?
  2. I emailed asking if Brilliant Brunette was gluten-free, and this is the response I got: "We appreciate your interest in Kao Brands. I have had a confirmation from our formulations department that Brilliant Brunette Liquid Shine Conditioner does not contain any wheat protein or its derivative. However it does contain hydrolyzed silk protein. I hope...
  3. It makes a lot of sense.. the pears I ate were really soft and sweet, but we do have a very hard, hardly sweet variety as well that I can give a try when the 12 days are over :-) Yay! I've never given sugar + fats a thought.. but I'm already imagining a plate of sliced pears with cashew nuts and I'm already drooling. I'll try that too when it's time to...

    ARCHIVED Dh "spot"

I don't think you'll necessarily get blisters every time you get glutened. I got glutened a few days ago and so far my DH spot only got irritated and dry, but no blisters. I did get the blisters easily when I was eating a lot of iodine.. maybe low iodine can help in preventing a full-scale DH attack? This is just speculation :-)
  5. Yes that was what I meant :-) Your diet is really high on the yummy factor.. I drooled just by reading it! I'm thinking about starting with nuts once I'm sure I'm symptom-free. I'm also eating carrots and sweet potatoes in limited quantities. I was never able to find safflower oil though.
  6. I am so happy for you Squirming! I hope you'll always be well from now on :-) Pear thanks for making both of us feel better! I don't know what was going on the past month but I am feeling much better energy-wise and mentally now.
  7. Thanks guys. I was really hoping you would say not to worry about the bloat since the pears were the only sweets i could have haha :-) It seems anything sugary will still be off the menu for a while!
  8. I so hear you! Good for all of us :-)
  9. I'm gonna give the previous posts some serious reinforcements. I've never gotten any information off this forum that was harmful. Without the experience of the people here I would have still been lost and itching my skin into oblivion.
  10. Guuuuys what should I do about the pears? ;-) Does bloat indicate a problem?
  11. You're having iodine without problems? :-O That is great! Can't wait until I can have seafood again!
  12. I've noticed that with celiac it's quite often that healing doesn't happen without comebacks. It's usually better -> stops or comes back but milder -> better, and so on. It resists completely going away until it can no longer be there. Hang in there squirming :-) I've been ok thanks :-) The DH on my finger healed but the skin has been refusing to...
  13. Makes sense :-) Yeah I think I was having reactions to other foods and thought I was still being glutened.
  14. I'm very happy to hear that :-)
  15. I agree with and echo all the previous posts. If you really like him give him another chance, but it seems to me that he's not really absorbing all that there is to know about you. Maybe reading really isn't his strong-point.. Perhaps try by telling him a story of how celiac disease was discovered.. that might be a little more interesting... but I can't...
  16. Edit: I forgot to mention that I added pealed pears to my diet three days before the glutening. They cause a major bloat. Does that mean I should take them off my diet? --------------------------------- Original post: Hi guys. I've been away for a week visiting family. I really had fun with them, and they tried to be as supportive as their interest...
  17. Sorry about the way you've been treated. There sadly is nothing we can do about people's lack of understanding. My whole family is telling me to "drop the whole idea of being gluten intolerant the moment my doctor finds nothing wrong". People think they know it all and that they have it all figured out. They think they live normal healthy lives because...
  18. I'm afraid I can't add avocados (as squirming stated). I had them in my diet earlier but had to remove them because they're very high on sals. I need to limit the sweet potato intake as well since they are high as well (yet not as high as avocados). I'm thinking about adding pears maybe. They are very low on sals.. While I do like them, they're still not...
  19. Snickers are not gluten free in Sweden.. Are they gluten free in the US? :-O
  20. I probably should have double checked before, but I just realized that sweet potatoes are high on salicylates.. not very high but still high. This means I would have to eat them in a very limited amount. Go figure!
  21. Thank you everyone :-) Yes I loved them! They're like a yummier version of chestnuts! So good and easy too cook! They first time it was cooked perfectly, but I sadly overcooked it the second time and didn't like it too mushy :-) By the way it's been a month since I started the elimination diet. If all goes well this will be the second ok food I've...
  22. Wow.. Ok, where to start. Gluten-free food doesn't have to be disgusting. In order to get to eat treats like everyone else I had to develop my cooking skills. My gluten-free cooking isn't identical to wheat foods but it can be equally delicious. Your friends and family should be able to understand that you can't eat the same things they do, so while they...
  23. Guys, I added my first food today since I didn't itch last night and I woke up with milder cold symptoms this morning. And of course I bought myself a small cute sweet potato.. I want to let you know I'M LOVING IT :-D Thank you so much everyone who's been helping me. I owe you so much and you will forever be my friends! I don't know you I know, but you...
  24. Good to hear it's not a must :-) I'm done with medications. Spent two thirds of my life taking pills I never needed which are probably behind some silly OCD habits. I would rather remedy myself by avoiding whatever makes my systems crash.
  25. I don't use it. Didn't hear of it before now actually. I'm not using any medicines at all. Are you all using it?
