ARCHIVED I Got My Period!
dani nero replied to dani nero's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
You are not annoying and if anything being vocal is inspiring.. I feel very awful for my family who are not willing to let go of the poison they're eating (gluten), and I wish I was as vocal as you but I'm not that strong personality-wise. I posted this thread out of joy to begin with but I think that providing others with information on different cases... -

I wish you and UKGail all the best. The only thing we can do when we no longer have control to change the situation is accept life with it's imperfections, to be able to see the bright side of things, and focus on what's to come :-) My heart goes out to you. xoxo -
You're just having some withdrawal symptoms, it means you're healing :-) Everyone gets worse before feeling better, so think of them as a positive thing.

ARCHIVED I Got My Period!
dani nero replied to dani nero's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Hi Lisa! In my case the amenorrhea wasn't caused by the BC pills. I took them to induce periods. I got diagnosed with hypothalamic amenorrhea when I was 16. The first doctor was the one who diagnosed me, and prescribed BC pills (Diane 35) as treatment. The second told me there was no point in taking treatment because I was completely healthy, and "it is not... -
ARCHIVED Did Anyone Else Have This Issue?

If you read a book called "Eating Less: Say Goodbye To Overeating" by Gillian Riley, she states that when you are aware that some food are forbidden, then your mind gets fixated on breaking free because it's aware of the new restrictions. The book can probably help you regulate your eating so you don't put on any weight without dieting. Hope this helps! -
ARCHIVED I Got My Period!
dani nero replied to dani nero's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
A little update: The period seems very standard so far, as if I were still taking treatment. I'll post again next month to confirm this is permanent and not just a one time thing (I hope!). I also hope things go well for you too XOXO -

ARCHIVED I Got My Period!
dani nero replied to dani nero's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Thank you! Yes I've been on birth-control treatment to get periods for 20 years, but I stopped taking the pills a month ago and went completely gluten-free. I got accidentally glutened about two weeks ago though, so I thought I wasn't going to get a period this month, but I did :-) -

Without birth-control pills and without any medication! Only by being on a gluten-free diet! I was so worried that I was feeling anxiety yesterday.. I thought I was getting accidentally glutened, but it was actually my period! I'm so happy + feeling period-crappy, but at least for the time, it's all natural period-crappy! -

ARCHIVED Anxiety Vs Gluen?
dani nero posted a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Hi everyone, I'm back in Sweden now. I'm being quite careful reading labels but still not feeling well at all. I never get aches or classical symptoms. Just constipation, amenorrhea, and anxiety (or panic), but those can also be signs of old fashioned stress or anxiety without being glutened. I'm at a loss. Any of you long-term experienced folk with... -
ARCHIVED New To Site. New To Gluten Free Diet
dani nero replied to elsa13's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hi Elsa and welcome! I'm new to this as well and I also was a little loose in the stomach when I started doing the diet seriously. Maybe it's just the changes and your body isn't used to this, or maybe you just ate something that didn't agree with you. Perhaps just give it a few more days? -
Congrats :-) Hope the next 20 years are as successful!

ARCHIVED I Hate Everything

I so feel for you and I'm so sorry you're feeling so poorly both physically and mentally. We always feel worse about everything when we're sick and tired. If I lived near you I'd make you a huge pot of my mother's rice porridge recipe. Any friends who can come over and help you with some cleaning / cooking a little while you recover? Just a thought, you... -
ARCHIVED Getting Sick On Weekends
dani nero replied to seigfriedj's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Do you think that maybe you accumulate some faint amounts of gluten each day of the week (when your husband gets home every day) until you finally feel bad on Saturday (which is when your husband stays at home) and then start feeling better on Monday, but then the slow accumulation starts over? I dunno just a thought! -
ARCHIVED Heavily Glutened Thanks To Ignorance
dani nero replied to dani nero's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Thanks for the advice everyone. Drinking as much as I can and eating plenty of fibers. This incident should be a lesson: Check everything! It's a little easier in Sweden because I'm familiar with all the gluten-free brands there and they're always in their own section. One thing worries me though since a lot of people looked at me as if I were a madwoman... -
You should call yourselves deglutened guys :-)

ARCHIVED Heavily Glutened Thanks To Ignorance
dani nero posted a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I bought a flour mix that was supposedly gluten-free. I'm currently on a trip, and in this country, organic products are placed on the same shelf as the gluten-free ones. Meaning they have no clue what gluten-free products are for. I should have been more careful. We made Korean dumplings with the flour and I loved them so much because they were so soft... -

Anyone have good replacement methods for broth cubes? My favorite broth cube used to be the mixed vegetables one. I loved putting it in spinach or mushroom soup. Some food would be sortof flavorless without it

ARCHIVED Celiac Vs Intolerance + G6Pd
dani nero replied to dani nero's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Thanks for the insight everyone. I tried reading about NCGI but couldn't find anything definitive so thought I'd ask here. Was the right thing to do :-) Makes me wonder which category my family falls under. My dad has diabetes, thyroid problems, joint inflammation, chronic constipation, and rashes, but he's tall, overweight and has thick bones. I'm not...
