mandigirl1 posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I recently learned the many, many, benefits of eating goji berries. Does anyone else with celiac disease, incorporate them into their diet??? One main reason why Ive been eating them is because I read that it can help fight cellulite (as some women will understand!!!) AND I'll try anything to loose the cellulite on my butt!!!!! LOL Can anyone share their... -

mandigirl1 posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
hello everyone. Im not sure if I'm posting this in the right place, but I'll try anyway. does anyone take chlorophyll, and if so, how/why does it help? my fiance is taking it (he's not gluten-free) and swears by it. he's constantly telling me to take it. Im not sure what to do. what are the benefits/side effects, if any, for people with celiac disease?... -

mandigirl1 replied to DingoGirl's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I feel the same exact way that Gabrielle mentioned. Im so crazy up to and including the day I get it. Im get so moody, irritable, sensitive and depressed!!!!! Its horrible!!!! Its like turning into a witch. Plus I turn into a huge cravings binger!!! What monster cravings and appetite. Yuck, I always put on 5-10 lbs as a result. I usually (unfortuantely... -
Can anybody, (although a yucky topic to talk about, but hey, we all need help!!!!) explain what blood in the stool looks like? Recently I thought I had blood, after having major glutening/virus. I was once told that blood is not like bright red, but darker. Is this true? I just went for my checkup (bloodwork) and completely forgot to mention this to my doctor...

Im always bloated after eating rice cakes. Now Im wondering if Ive been the victim of cross-contamination and never knew it. Im so upset now. I have practically lived on these things since diagnosed, 78 years ago. Does anyone have any recent/updated info about this? Or, a response from the company itself? If so, can someone please post it? You guys are...

which rice cakes were contaminated? For 8 years Ive lived on plain quakers rice cakes. I eat the chocolate ones every now and then (I get addicted) but Ive never encountered any problems. Although who knows? They may be cross contaminated and I never knew. Could explain why Im never feeling 100% well and have suffered quite a few serious attacks lately...

ARCHIVED What Do You Do When You Get Glutened?
mandigirl1 replied to coco-loco's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
hey everyone- just wanted to share......my post is similiar to this one. I had a horrible CA a few weeks ago. Question for Ms. Sillyak screwed. You mentioned laying on the floor with an attack (stomach pain, diarea, etc.). You used pedialyte. I wish I had known this when I was suffering, while away on vacation. If you look at my post, you'll see that... -
thanks! I think Ill try it. Question, do you or anyone else know about taking ginger in pill form to ease nausea? More specifically, one thats gluten-free?
-
Based on what you described, it sounds like maybe the chips/cheese was contaminated. As a "veteran" Celiac (living 7 years gluten-free), I am very, very careful when eating chips/cheese in a restaurant. Question for you.....did you ask anyone in the kitchen if the chips were gluten-free???? You must ask the waiter/chef/preparer about the ingredients...

Once again fellow Celiacs, thank you for your concern and advice. It really makes me feel better to know there are nice people out there, experiencing the same thing as myself. I'm finally feeling better now. Ive stayed in bed and rested. When I did have a BM, it wasnt diarrea. I was surprised because I thought that when someone has a stomach bug, or gluten...

Thank you guys for your advice and concern. Its nice to know there are others with celiac disease who understand. Well, I stayed home from work yet another day because I just couldnt get out of bed. Feeling better than yesterday. Had plenty of bed rest and drank lots of fluids. My doctor felt that it is a virus, maybe stomach, maybe touch of the flu....
-
no, i dont have any of those problems you mentioned. i stayed home from work today because im too weak to get out of bed. my head, stomach and body/muscles are killing me. im dizzy, nausea, weak and feel like i cant move. not sure what this is. dont think this has ever been a celiac attack, because then i have diarrea and now i dont. thanks

mandigirl1 replied to Guinevere's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
how do you find out if you have candida? can anyone tell me briefly what the symptoms are? thanks! -
Thanks for the feedback. Its so hard to say when a gluten attack will come on. Usually for me, its anywhere between 24 hours and one week. As a matter of fact, Im sick right now as I type this. I cant move out of bed, Im weak with body/muscle aches, exhaustion, excessive yawning, and a horrible queasy feeling in my stomach, with severe nausea, dizziness...

ARCHIVED Breast Implants And Celiac Disease
mandigirl1 replied to Mayam's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
You only live once and if having the surgery is important to you, then go for it. I did. Ive wanted them for 20 years. Ive never been happier. There are risks in everything---all type of surgery. I have implants and I have Celiac. I also live in NY City. I think there may be more risks just walking down the street, in NYC, than having breast implants....... -
hey everyone......just wanted to share this experience I had last week while being away Easter weekend, in Arizona (Im from NY, FYI). I had the most severe attack Ive ever suffered in the 8 years that I have celiac disease. It was as painful as when I first was diagnosed with celiac disease after being so sick I needed a hospital. OK, I was away with my...
